Yes, this is it exactly. Thank you love, your words drip with sensual intelligence and common sense. As I said before, there is an entire sub-culture of elitism to content with; and narcissism is a hard addiction to break.
With those beautiful words of yours, I leave this thread in your capable hands, love. Though I will continue to monitor it for the laughs, particularly all those responses devoid of content but quite chock full of attempted insults. The forums never cease to amuse me.
When Classic comes out, I hope it’s more successful at this point than live WoW and if you knew me, you’d know in no way shape or form am I looking forward to Classic.
I hope that because maybe Ion will realize he’s wrong when it comes to catering to people who don’t want to do challenging content and start rewarding the players who do.
Pro-Tip: WoW at it’s peak was best when more difficult content rewarded much better gear. Dallies didn’t give people heroic ilevel gear.
Yea…i find it funny. Ion said at the start of the expac “world quests will probably stop being rewarding for some players, and that’s ok”, now it’s “oh by the way, you’ll be able to get heroic raid ilvl just from wqs”.
The reward for doing higher end raiding is to make doing the simple chores easier, for instance 1 shotting world mobs doing WQ content. If you want that kind of power you need to be raiding.
Have you not seen the South Park WOW episode? You in fact cannot farm to lvl 60 killing pigs in the forest like on the episode, you actually have to do harder content and progress. So why is farming WQs over and over and over rewarding you so much? Move on to harder content or expect to stay behind everyone else like you deserve.
You’re missing the entire point. Nobody cares what the other people are getting. They care that it’s easy for THEY THEMSELVES to get the gear. I don’t care about doing heroic raids because I got over 400 ilvl on this character without clearing BoD. That’s just completely ridiculous. I don’t feel like logging in because there’s no challenge.
Stop trying to warp the argument into something it isn’t and paint people as bad who aren’t.
Well, calling it now. This will kill the normal and heroic raid population, and all m+ keys under 10 will be dead keys next tier. This is going to be bad overall for the game and the community.
I pay the same amount each month as everyone else. I deserve to be rewarded with the best gear in the game, it doesn’t matter if I only log in for world quests. Raiders should raid because it’s fun, not for gear.
Sorry, but the “welfare” gear is here to stay. You keep working hard and I’ll keep doing world quests for the same gear.
Ion’s reasoning feels so stupid here, i mean does he thinks players are 5 year old kids that can’t find right vendors or does he think we are too dumb to find out ourselves the right gear for us.
You’re wrong. A raid requires significantly more effort.
For example:
Two people can work at the same job and have the same position and one do vastly more work than the other. I expect the one who did vastly more work than the other to get a promotion or a raise, and the one who was lazy and did the bare minimum to stay where he’s at.
Is it funny because I raid on my shaman and M+ on my druid, or is it funny because I think it’s utterly ridiculous for people to be upset that their heroic raid ilvl gear is available in weekly quests (it isn’t available in WQ drops) and emissaries?
It’s wasted upset. It’s wasted energy.
Everyone comes in here and complains that the population is struggling and raid guilds are having trouble filling the roster.
Players returning to the game can be geared and raid-ready for heroic or mythic raiding in less than a week after hitting 120. How on earth is that bad for the game? It isn’t. It’s only bad for people who derive pleasure from being able to vastly outgear people who don’t do their content.
Again: If you REALLY feel that an emissary 400 piece negates the value of AotC or raiding with your guild…then I think you should reassess.
That emissary gear allows your raid to fill the roster quickly. It allows players who don’t have the hours to invest in grinding up ilvl the ability to get gear and join a raiding guild.
That isn’t bad for the game and it isn’t bad for you, and you can laugh at me all you want. I get to raid with my friends every week and M+ on my alt like a champ and enjoy myself in the video game I’m paying monthly to play.
