Yes people making un-founded accusations can severely hurt innocent people.
Also people with real accusations get get severely hurt by people confusing them with others who are only seeking attention.
In the end this is for the courts to determine and I wish for both sides sake that none of this would become public until after the courts passed a verdict. Because the court of public opinion is not fair and never appoligizes if it miss-read the situation.
Oh sorry⌠once you lose your job you can never get another one. Forgot that your work card gets taken away as soon as you get fired or quit your job.
What people like you are saying here is the problem, why people stick around in these environments instead of growing a pair and doing something about it. Why do you want people to stick around in these environments, are you one of the people doing these terrible acts and want people to stick around for fear of the lack of paycheck so you can keep doing it?
Yes multiple current and past employees and a two year investigation by the state of CA is just âsomeone saying it happenedâ right?
Are you a professional clown or is it just a side gig on the weekends?
There are 29 pages of evidence that the state included in the initial filing. More evidence will come out at trial. The state has been conducting this investigation for about 2 years, and wouldnât have filed suit if they didnât think they had enough to win at trial.
At the end of the day survival trumps pride. And you have mouths to feed and lives to maintain then your pride and sense of justice falls lower on the list. Not to say justice isnât important but would you be willing to let your children starve in front of you because of it?
Honestly at this point, to find a top tier company/corporation that hasnât been accused of some form of âimmoralâ act would be anomalous. To place judgement exclusively based upon a more of a general act, or even just accusation would easily put a lot of highly trafficked places out of logical reach.
I am a high advocate for freedom of speech and any open protest to any heinous act (assuming there is no violation of otherâs rights in process).
But as previously stated, I generally evaluate the value of the product I am consuming and not the value of some indignant CEO.
This obviously will have itâs day in court, and it is what it is.
Those who cancel/unsubscribe accounts will have more of a voice as it fiscally impacts people.
Regardless, after working in the justice system for numerable years I wouldnât place judgement or take sides until the day in court is at least had.
At the end of the day people have the capacity for good, but sometimes victims have some similar if not more malevolent intent than offenders.
If the accusations are accurate, it would be rather regrettable to a great extent for those involved. And in that term, accountability should be had.
But you are also criticizing the people who left as not doing enough to stop it, so ???
Also, there are no union protections here, the industry blackballed people all the time, and itâs not like game dev skills are super transferable to another industry.
Its called life. Its also called personal responsibility. It would be smart to RESEARCH your chosen career path also. Everyone and their mother knew the industry was, and is dominated by men, and gamers at that. Anyone who has ever played a video game knows how male gamers act.
You all act like its some kind of surprise. I think what they did was/is disgusting, but not giving up my past time over something even i knew, without ever having to work in that field.
Normal women will always give a worthy response to someone harassing them to stop those people from doing that again, same as with guys if girls bothering them, and they all live fine.
Only the weak ones complain and canât do anything except write crap on twitter, those people will be harassed no matter where they work, Blizzard or not.
Humans always going to be humans
I stand with the victims had you actually taken the time to read what I put out there youâd know that.
I am saying thinking people coming forward on social media now is validating is off to me. Why fight it in the court of public opinion and not go to the state?
I get it though, you read the title and went mad! Next time consume the actual post!
And I did say I would say something right? Or did you miss that due to selective reading?
I would rather say something, lose my job, and be blacklisted than be in that environment. Thats close to what I said before.
You dont have to stay in the same industry. Oh crap I forgot again, you get a work card for a certain industry and you can only work in that industry so if you quit or get fired your screwed.
Victims have a level of responsibility as well, and saying that they dont just hurts them and anyone else that becomes a victim even more.
Again, if this stuff happens to you SPEAK UP. Dont listen to these people that are trying to make excuses, wanting people to stay in these harassing environments. Say something!
Well considering we literally just had a scandal around Kaelâthasâ VA that when it was all done with turned out that HE was in fact the victim, not the other way around itâs kinda hard not to be skeptical.
The thing is, getting your rear fondled can be excusable if the person who did it was sorry and does not do it again. Itâs the type of thing you go to HR for. However they did go to HR many times⌠MANY women did. This not a single person. This is class action lawsuit. Where some stayed and put up with it, some left like you said and some filed with the courts.
Getting out protects you, but it does not protect all those who come into that company after you. And some good natured people stay in order to help those that come in after them as well as themselves. So donât dismiss them as dumb for staying. Leaving gives them exactly what they want and sometimes people are fighters and wanna make em work for it⌠nothing wrong with that.
Get it now? Or do I need to mail you a board with strings?
These are the same people who watched what happened saying they stand with the people now, personally that would bother me more as a victim. I see that guy as someone hopping on a bandwagon to get their 15 when they were complicit in it all.
That is all I am saying, you keep thinking I am an apologist, I am not. I am actually more offended than you are obviously since I see them equally as terrible.
