Stop Listening to Ex Employees

I have seen so many posts from people who left Blizzard since this all dropped. So many are using them as proof.

I want to ask you all this, and want you to think about it. Why are you giving them a pass? If they witnessed it happening and did nothing to stop it, are they really any better?

It bothers me to no end that people speaking up years later get applauded but no one asks themselves why they didn’t step up and help back then?

I believe some terrible things happened here, but I want the courts to handle it. If you are one of the people supporting those coming forward now that did zero to help in the past, I’d really like for you to internalize and think if they are truly as “good” as some are making them out to be.

Most of the people coming forward are victims who were fearful of retaliation from one of the biggest gaming companies in the world, as well as it’s toxic, rabid fanbase who create threads questioning their credibility on the WoW general forums.

Intimidation, retaliation and fear are why people wait to come forward, if they ever come forward.

Strength and courage are gained with support, as it’s happening now, with many of them coming forward at the same time.

Well, you can either sit there and bare it

Or say something, lose your job, be blacklisted cuz Blizzard is a big name so you never work in the industry again

But yea, it really is as simple as “Just say something”

Nah there are so many more. Quite a few men that left the company, Lore responded to one today. The forums erupted. No matter what, if they didn’t do anything back them they are just as guilty to me.

Yet they left the company. So they could have gone and reported it then no? Again, hindsight right?

Seriously? Had they banded together back then to end it, would we be here today?

I am reading a lot of excusing them tolerating horrible behavior here…

You think if a whole group got fired over this that any gaming magazine wouldn’t jump on it? Even back then they had these horrible things happen at other publishers, those people found work with other companies.

As I said, it’s easier to come forward against a mega-company with mega-lawyers when you come forward as a group.

Not to mention the witnesses wouldn’t have much influence if the victims didn’t want to come forward at the time. They’d be forcing the victims into the fray without their consent. The victims have every right to decide when they want to come forward and the witnesses should, and have, respected that right. NOW, they can be allies and fight the big boss battle against Blizzard together, without feeling pressured to do so before they were emotionally prepared to.

And for all we know, the State of California’s investigation may have started with these witnesses AND victims a couple years ago, and the State may have asked them to remain silent until official charges were made in the wake of the investigation.

But do you think they should be playing moral grandstander now like many are?

When they full on knew this was happening? No. This should never be the case.

You are making excuses for enablers of abuse here. No matter what career everything, you read the allegations, you think they get a pass for watching that all happen?

I don’t.

You really don’t know how the real world works huh? Just say or do something. Does not work most of the time. Does someone physically get hurt? Yea now you have law involved.

But if you are not with an organized group of people to come out together, even though they say there will be no retaliation, there will be.

There is a reason why people call people who come out to talk about being a victim of these crimes as brave. Because everyone knows that person wil feel embarrassed it happened to them and brave for coming out to speak against a monster when many don’t.

Great way of telling you never held a corporate-type job or just worked in a big company.

Many times this goes on death ears until a big group steps in and in this case that big group is Cali.

I am a woman who works for a mining company. Tell me again how it works?

That same group can come forward together. Coming out now and admitting to watching it all happen and saying now you support the victims is a little hypocritical no?

People like to project infallible paragons online. Humans don’t behave that way. 99% of you, including op, would have kept your heads down and made the decisions you had to make to put food on your table. You’re not a better person, you’re not a paragon of virtue, you’re just someone trying to point fingers from the relative safety of anonymity online with zero inkling as to what really happened or what people were made to suffer.

The watershed moment is occurring now, finally. Trying to turn up your nose and boast in this moment is conceited and ignorant.

Biggest mining company in Canada. Have had our fair share of these suits. But up here when it happens, everyone who enabled it gets hit.

They don’t get people propping them up like here in GD.

Hopefully they can get back on the next expansion. Yes I’m gonna have it for a couple weeks. Where are the ones that were sent to the office? I went out there and yes it’s amazing

The only work you do is creating filth in your moms basement

Well you asked, now you shed doubt?
