Wow, at least you are honest about it. You just wana feel special… You have even said it is incredibly easy for a really lazy person to unlock, but you still think that status symbol means something? Just never going to agree. But I guess this is probably the reality of why most people defend it. I’d be lying if I said I respect that viewpoint.
Well, my point still stands as accurate, at least with all these allied races I had to be in the know and help them join us. Way more fun and rewarding to me than just suddenly appearing there.
cosmetics and races are legit the only things that matter in the game long term. gear doesn’t matter it’s a means to an end. if you want to play a DID or a zanda you need to do a month of WQ. it’s not a big deal. it’s pure laziness to expect that you don’t have to do something literally everyone else did to unlock something. the legion allied races though have had their rep buffed so it doesn’t take so long. but you still have to do it.
People keep saying they are “losing” something, since OP won’t explain it to me, what are they talking about losing? I did my Zandas and I do not appear to have lost anything, but I did get that sweet, sweet heritage armor.
i think he’s talking about the fact you won’t have the rep on the new toon that the toon you unlocked it with will have. but that’s been every alt since ever, regardless of race. lol.
It’s clear it is the only thing that matters to you. I think something so low effort and mindless as world quests and expecting some specially reward is just absolute nonsense. Any mindless automaton can do dailies you shouldnt be rewarded basic mmo features for mundane crap like that. I dont feel any sense of “I’m special” because I was willing to mindlessly clear the board. I feel special when I do a high end mythic+ key or complete a hard raid encounter, or complete a Dungeon Challenge(Wrath was great at this).
I understand a company wanting to reward loyalty, but this seems like a very dumb way to do it, and one that encourages a viewpoint of what I view as a participation trophy. I wouldnt give 2 poo’s if they just gave people the races I had to log in every day for.
Can’t wait for them allied mailboxes, allied banks, allied flight masters, allied profession trainers, allied auction houses and all the rest of them allied watchajiggers.
I mean, sending mail in an allied mailbox after a tedious time-gated world quest humping trickle grind will make me feel like I earned it, put in effort, and like I’ve acheived something spectacular!
Oh I can take this question, I think it’s two reasons. One, is that the game now works differently. And two, I already said that I have no idea why they are in the Horde. The way they are doing this promotes people logging in, working towards a goal, and it helps us all know why they are there in the first place.
(And three, nobody would have ever unlocked the pandas! LOL)
“basic” races are open to everyone. these are prestige races which are appropriately locked behind rep. just like hero classes were locked behind having a high level character first. anyway, you have every right to your opinion. as i with mine. done with this conversation though because we’re just spinning wheels at this point.
If you are a returning or new player and you want to play one of the allied races you will have to play a character you dont want, to play one you do. Then you have to reset your levels and progression to do so, unless you are willing to pay blizzard money(assuming you picked the class that race can switch to).
For those of us who had a main before this, we lost nothing. New or returning players lose a lot of time wasted on a toon they dont want.
