Please people, donât make threads like this if you donât know whatâs been going on and donât know the history of WoW, the reason we have Classic beyond the demand for it, is that changing retail is a lost causeâŚlet people have their version of the game they like, you can have bothâŚits not a big deal to run two versions of the game.
That makes sense. There are some I wouldnt mind personally, but as I have said in other threads, âif you add or change anything to Classic, it is not a classic game nowâ.

If someone does not want to allow a TBC or Wrath server because, âyou have the content already and can play it the same way on the retail clientâ. I am going to copy this comment everywhere.
Now that I think about it, if they opened up a PvP and PvE megaserver right now and called them Classic+ servers that would get some changes such as class balance and maybe future content changes or additions, it would solve multiple problems.
Youâd have megaservers for people who donât care about layering and would prefer a larger population that wonât ever have queues to find pugs in. This would get a lot of people off of the regular classic servers to make it easier for them to transition to phase 2 with no layering.
The people asking for such and such a minor tweak would now have a place to be where it was actually a possibility separate from the regular classic servers. Now all the nochanges people could tell you to go to the classic+ megaservers instead of their irrational nonsensical statement about going back to retail.
Incompetence is a strong word, but lack of knowledge or ability at a project can be called it.
Unwarranted means that some comment or action against someone should not have happened.
In this case, it was lack of ability and knowledge that caused the problems.
Why is there STR and AGI on cloth items? They did that because they thought all stats would be good, only to find out the opposite.
Why could you cheese CâThun so easily at first? They already knew people were finding flaws in the world and literally falling through. They never fixed it because they thought it was not an issue. This raid fight proved otherwise and they changed their stance on wall climbing and floor dropping very quickly.
I love this idea but i think they are too invested (they being Blizzard) in the new systems to go backwards and add back talent trees (real ones not the BS we got with MoP). If they would go back to the âold waysâ i would likely play retail again. Well that and stop giving away epics like candy. I will say though i enjoyed the artifact weapon system from legion. It was unique and allowed more customization to your playing - and gave a new thing to do in the world.
In large part the âClassic+â crowed are people who never wanted Classic. Some even actively fought against it. But now that itâs here they want to turn it into something different. The principles they want to apply to Classic are what destroyed WoW the first time around, but theyâre too blind to see it.
In any event, they donât want Classic. They want WoW 2. And thatâs what they should be asking for.
Hmmm⌠are you referring to world drop epics? Because yea⌠i can tell you a T2 geared player or higher will likely argue this. if you are talking about the world drop ones then i agree. Edgemasters, Staff of Jordan and Underworld Band are the only ones that really shine.
T3 is the only set thatâs universally great for basically all classes. Other sets are very hit or miss. T1 is garbage for almost every class, as is almost all non-tier gear drops from most raids up to AQ.
âFree epicsâ is just a silly argument. In vanilla especially, gear being âepicâ or hard to get didnât make it good.
I can agree with that statement. Epic did not mean better. Prime example is the trinket from BRD that gave you a chance to add an extra hit on your next swing (was never melee just remember it lasting till t2/t2.5). Tier gear really felt like it was intended for pvp not pve. Most players i knew that had it never used it for raids.
It would cause a major problem, Classic would not be classic anymore. With changes like that, you might as well play retail with the old Azeroth map in it.
After all, as so many people on the forums have said, âyou can play TBC/Wrath since it exists on the Retail serversâ, completely ignoring that the game changes have removed what made Vanilla, Vanilla and TBC, TBC, WrathâŚ
