Stop asking for classic +

Retail is beyond repair…they aren’t going to remove CRZ, group finder, LFR or any of that…Classic+ all the way for me.

Good luck with that. Ion has already stated there will be no new content for Classic, period end.

Dude…No he didn’t…quit lying and spreading false information…

And people asking for Classic+ will be the first to complain when it inevitably doesn’t follow the vision they have in their heads.

Exactly. So many people have so many different ideas as to what Classic+ is supposed to be, that I can’t see them making a version that everyone will be happy with. They don’t want to open that can of worms

I’m all for classic+ but only if they never increase the level cap. And keep the classic feel. But it’s blizz we’re talking about here

Garbage throwaway comment is garbage. Incomptence? Really?

JageX did pretty good with OSRS…Classic+ could succeed very well if they did it in the spirit of classic…and you saying “Ion has already stated there will be no new content for Classic, period end.”…Is not true and he never said that at all.

I didn’t lie and it’s not misinformation. If you actually kept up on interviews and q&a sessions you would know this too. In the most recent interview he made that statement. Whether you choose to believe it or not is on you

Ok please link me where he said that.

For the record…the period end part was my own words…the rest were his.

Link incoming once I find it again…

The devs themselves admit a lot of the game’s early problems is due to their own inexperience and inability to really understand the mechanics of the game. This is not new, nor is it unique to WoW devs.

The things that make Classic so successful would create a raging screaming mob if they did that to retail.

I have given up making new arguments, here is the best one I have come up with why people want TBC servers with TBC mechanics.

if you look at the origin story of wow quests u will find the claims to be fairly accurate.

if your asking for a redesign of the motivation for quests sure, but i mean, take the slime quest in wetlands, should that quest become kill 1 slime get bag? ive done full levels doing that quest grinding on those slimes and i hate it, but its also a realistic depiction of the difficulty of finding a bag in that situaton.

ok lets take another example, buzzboxes in darkshore, maybe you damaged pelts of claws or w/e else while killing the mobs, this could happen, frustrating but accurate.

treking through the trolls in hinterlands to make ur mallet of ZF should we just be teleported to the top to make the malet because we want it?

grindy can be content, so long as it adds context and meaning, the retail philosophy of rep-gating everything seems to be well accepted and its very overt, make something a little grindy and people get up in arms

There is a real mechanic reason as well. This is because of limitations in servers and that it inherited EQ’s playstyle.

Over time, things have changed, some for the better, other…, not so much.

Just remember, we have more quests and more quest lines in a zone starting in Wrath than they could do in Vanilla and TBC.

This is a classic version of Vanilla. As much as I would love to have somethings drop faster, the leveling is not designed for it. Also, it would not be a classic game then, it would be nouveau server server having some old parts and some new parts.

I think retail is too far gone and there is a subset of players that prefer retail. If they make retail more like classic, they will lose those players. Or they’ll make some inbetween that neither side likes.

Because retail is an e-sports MMO, and now has a completely different design philosophy than the original game. Why not have two games, based on the same lore, that cater to different markets?

swap the words ‘retail’ and ‘classic’ in the sentence and you have exactly the same sentiment in the classic crowd.

Why not ask for both since they’d be completely different things?

I don’t want retail to be more like Classic. I just want it to be more fun. The many modern conveniences aren’t what killed retail. Titanforging and boring class design and the RNG loot mechanics of M+ (not M+ itself since end-game 5 man is actually a good idea) are what people hate most about BfA. A lot of people even played Legion despite titanforging and awful Legendary RNG, so really the class design and instances and theme of BfA are probably what killed it so much compared to Legion.

Classic+ on the other hand would be a completely different thing. Though they can also feel free to give us TBC servers or WotLK servers or even just custom servers where groups of people can get together and start their own server at whichever expansion they prefer and offer some custom options or something.
