Eh I don’t really care either way, I am just saying your points don’t make sense to me and it honestly makes it hard for anyone to believe you. If you don’t it’s not skin off my back I was just curious. The fact you can’t be bothered to type a name and a realm though also isn’t helping.
One big reason I don’t want old AV is it heavily favored the Alliance. Turtleing as Alliance is just to damn strong and the changes they made also reduced the advantages the Alliance had over Horde. The changes I’m talking about are the changes that happened in Vanilla.
Which only truly became a factor when the NPCs began to be nerfed/removed. In a more streamlined AV, yes the alliance advantages meant more.
Do not think this is a request: I was one who was pretty vocal about requesting blizzard make the horde tower flags visible to the archers (In fact NONE of the towers or graveyards should have been able to be soloed), getting rid of the wall snowdrift, closing up the spaces between the horde towers and wall and removing the roof cover of the building downslope from the horde base tower archers. They never seemed to be interested in fixing obvious flaws, only nerfing and removing in order to make the BG go faster.
Well I believed you either way, the things you are I were talking about were just matters of opinion and the things you were saying actually made sense.
The other guy though was just making bold, vague claims that sounded more like TBC AV more than anything else.
I never played horde but I always noticed it was way easier (no matter what patch) for us (ally) to push the horde bases/towers than it was for horde to push us simply because of the layout of the bunkers/towers. Horde archers got LoSed like they were fighting an SL/SL lock and the ally archers were like the snipers to end all snipers.
Don’t make assumptions like this.
I can’t show my 80 rogue or 80 druid because I unsubbed at the end of WOTLK and haven’t touched it since - other than to level a character to the max for free when the forums changed over.
I just asked for a name and a realm. I can show you what I was going to do.
What was the name and realm of those characters?
Banja
BJizzle
Either on Dunemaul or Deathwing - not sure which I ended on / transferred from.
You presume to speak for everyone? Chutzpah.
What about my claims are “vague”?
I can see you made your rogue a little bit before dec 18th 2005 and you must have transfered off somewhere around jan 30 2007. You hit 60 between feb 16 2006 and march 13 2006.
Your druid shows it must have gotten xfered to deathwing sometime in 2009 he must have had a different name on dunemal.
See I don’t need an armory to tell when you made the character or what time you were a certain level.
Bud, I thought I made it clear I am done talking to you. No point in talking to you.
Then it would be nice if you would refrain from lying about me to other people.
Not that it really matters; they can see at a glance who said “both sides would go for the captain and towers, then kill the general, ignoring quests” and who said “not a zerg rush.”
Ok bud tell me more about your experiences with AV in wotlk.
I had a couple of garbage characters previously, but it sounds reasonably close I guess? The druid transfer is incorrect, I transferred him almost immediately after WOTLK (IIRC)
Oh it 100% could be. I think this goes off of guilds you joined/leave or milestones in levels you make. You could have been guildless for awhile then it showed up once you joined a guild, I had to guess on that one because it didn’t show a bjizzle on dunemaul.
But the point I was trying to make is I know people lost accounts and such from back then and simple character names and servers can show me when they were a certain level and the dude couldn’t even provide that.
For example, my first character was on a shared account with my cousin because my mom didn’t want to pay for a sub so I get when people say they don’t have access to OG chars.
But he can’t even provide that so… it’s a little fishy to say the least.
Fair enough!
Yeah the LOS thing of archers is something so easily fixed design-wise, both the horde tower flag being entirely out of sight of the flag and blocked by structures, as well as the alliance towers able to be capped out of LOS of their archers, it boggles the mind. The horde base structures effectively blocked the archer’s views. There was a huge thread with graphics in the original forums that went into great detail the issues with archers and the horde camp design, but fell on deaf blizzard ears. Something to add: sneaking into bases and solo capping the towers should NEVER have been possible.
HOWEVER, since early AV was slower due to the more powerful speed bumps, the BG’s inherent “tools” had more time to be worked on. The tools being the ram/wolf riders, the infantry assaults, the air bombing runs, upgrades of guards, and the turtle-busting elemental summoned beings, the alliance advantages were not as abused.
It would be nice to be able to use the tools given to you in av, it really sucked when av ended as I was going to summon a wind rider and wolf riders.
This is an excellent point. I remember the on going long battles but I also remember that horde could also make a good push using those tools.
It did “seem” more balanced in that respect unlike what it became after and the status quo which has favored the alliance.
Blizzard is probably not going to say anything till it is release as someone will be unhappy regardless what Blizzard decides.
Unfortunately, i believe BGs are not release on initial launch but the second bucket/wave of Blizzard’s content timegating, so we probably will only know what Classic AV will be like maybe at the end of 2019 or early 2020.
