Nobody is complaining about not having RP-PVP in the stress test… or at least most people are not.
The concern comes from Ion’s statement that they do not plan on having an RP-PVP realm on launch, but they do want to make one pure RP one. So, most of us have been asking for them to change their mind for the last few months now…
The stress test has served to reignite this discussion though because RP-PVP is the ONLY server type missing from the roaster… so many have taken this as a confirmation that there WON’T be RP-PVP realms on launch.
Look at my response to Brokenwind. I already admit that it’s not a GOOD solution…but it may be the only one that’s available since (again unless Blizzard says otherwise) there aren’t going to be RP-PVP servers at classic launch, and even if they add them later, unfortunately a lot of the RP guys already have established characters and aren’t going to want to reroll on a new server.
So again…I Understand that it’s not a good solution
And if you had read my entire post instead of just keying off that one sentence you would understand, that I am actually on board wanting to GET RP-PVP servers for you guys even if I don’t RP myself. I don’t think that a legitimate style of play that’s been around since Vanilla should be taken away at least not without TRYING to see if there is enough interest.
Personally I feel like Blizzard should put an RP-PVP server in at launch and then if there aren’t enough people on that RP-PVP server to justify keeping it running then shut it down. But Blizzard is pinching pennies here so they aren’t going to do it that way.
I understand your point. I think the RP-PVP community would be happier just doing a hostile takeover of a PVP server if it comes to launch day and a proper server isn’t available.
That’s not a bad idea either…the problem you run into is that I know there are a lot of RP trolls on RP servers (and RP-PVP servers), you will have a massive ton more on a normal PVP server and this time unfortunately you won’t have GMs to back you up on it.
Why is she a troll again? Everything she said is correct, I have played in PvP realms before, and if you can find ONE guild that RPs at all, then you’re lucky.
RP and RPPVP are just a label put onto PVE and PVP realms respectively, its only use is to help RPers help find people who enjoy the same aspect of the game as them.

No it’s not a great solution, it’s not a solution at all I fear… Like who wants to level a toon on an RP realm only to abandon it later when and if they release RP-PVP realms? It sounds like a huge waste of time which will lead to a subsequent lack of investment
Not even mentioning you will be probably months behind everyone else who got to start on launch day
How many people do you think are needed to have a healthy realm? According to user-made polls and posts on this same forum, I’d say we’ve got more than enough for one high pop RP-PVP realm
Yeah, I think this is the best way to do it. Launch the game with heavy monitoring and then release extra servers if they need to after the first week or so. I know this puts a lot of trust in Blizz to not screw it up, and that may be a fool’s errand, but from their position it makes sense to me.
