Stealth ability doesn’t feel stealthy because of Spy

Ah… youth.

Your post belies the former, and you mistake your preference against addons for a healthy game in the latter.

^ had tipper above me, jesus. That last sentence though.

I don’t use Spy personally, however there’s no way to get rid of it without destroying a ton of other addons in the process which I do use.

All the addon does is read the combat log. This means Instead of using that addon, players could have the Combat log chat opened up with a separate window and make the font larger to see if someone stealthed (or used anything else) near them.

Nothing has changed. The only difference is aesthetic—which does attract more to use it. If there was no other alternative, I’m sure players would adopt having a large chat box in their screen to keep an eye out anyway.

I actually enjoy addons a great deal, want me to make a list of those I suggest for my friends starting?

Tukui
Healbot (I need that when I’m stealthing around like you imply)
Atlas
AuctionFaster
Bagnon
Bartender
Gathermate2
Informant
Titanpanel
TomTom
TradeSkillMaster
DBM
Questie

As you can tell by my lack of addons, I just have a distaste of them in general. You’re funny, keep it up.

I never accused you of being internally consistent or not a hypocrite.

What I’m accusing you of is being horrid at PvP as you’ve stated.

Oops, guess we need to learn to counter rogues rather than relying on a message telling you that one’s around because you lack spacial awareness so you hop on the thread to bash anyone with valid viewpoints that don’t correspond to your handicaps.

I never said I was bad at wPvP, just that I didn’t care about it, hence my spec being woefully underserving in that regard because I care more about doing 5mans and MTing Raids.

If you could read clearly, you’ll note my solution to Rogues: going Dire Bear Form. Eventually the Rogue runs out of CC and they can’t Vanish because of Faerie Fire. I do have Nature’s Grasp if we happen to be outdoors and Rogues have no ranged interrupt, so yeah. It is honestly a boring match-up. Same with Warriors, be them Arms or Fury.

Like I said before, projection.

Give it a rest guys, this thread has gone on long enough.

This is what it comes down to:

Those that don’t care don’t feel so strongly about it they insult and bash a priest for defending the gameplay of a second class. You obviously care, you need to go back and look up some more of those psychology videos you googled with little to no actual understanding to insult others on the forums.

Man, you’re projecting your problems on me hard right now. You need to work on that, it makes you look a bit ignorant.

Do you feel like a hero? /giggle

I typed “projection” into YouTube and picked the goofiest thumbnail. Humor is such a lost art when people are crusading…

I feel like we need the gameplay to fit the class, if that’s what you’re asking.

So you’re admitting we hit the nail on the head, thanks.

Like I said, there’s no combat there. We shouldn’t be warned when someone self buffs, especially if that self buff is an essential part of that classes gameplay.

Why do you feel you need an alarm to sound when a rogue stealths? I don’t.
You know why, don’t you? Because you want an advantage on a class that screws their gameplay up. I don’t need that advantage because, oh wait, I can do just fine without ruining their gameplay experience while enjoying mine. Seems you can’t.

My point is, I enjoy priest and pallies (can’t play that as I’m a horde player) but don’t want the identity of any other class to be screwed up. I argue like this because I do this in anything I discuss. Call it a personality flaw if you want, I stand by what I think is best for everyone.
Were something to affect the druids class, one that I don’t enjoy playing besides raid healing perhaps several expansions off, I’d defend that thread just as strongly. I’m part of the playerbase, and I make my voice heard.
I’m not sorry if that offends you, I simply think you need to learn to play without a crutch.

You’re hung up on the semantics of the word “combat”, which I’ve already addressed.

Yeah, pointed out you were flawed there as well. We don’t need a trumpet blaring when someone enters stealth, bud.

Literally everything you’ve said is projection, go google some more psychology vid’s and actually learn from them this time.

It isn’t a trumpet, more of a whooshy magic noise, specifically designed to play when any character enters Stealth or a similar state, or is detected. Oh silly me, that’s what BLIZZARD did from the very beginning! Doh!

But less sarcastically, no, no one needs additional bells and whistles (literally) added to their UI, anymore than someone needs reskinned and resized action bars. I prefer auditory cues for simple messages that aren’t spam in order to de-clutter my UI. I don’t run Spy for its auditory cue, my server is too big, it goes off a lot.

Your only recourse is to assume I have ill intentions, which is just bad reasoning. A nefarious motivation doesn’t make truth suddenly a lie. That’s why I enjoy mocking it as projection, because it just reveals your lack of critical thinking on the matter.

Yeah, when you have a rogue stealth right next to you. I know the sound involved, I’ve been ganked before too. I just didn’t get as salty as you did. Did Blizzard also add a warning pop up in the middle of your screen with a noise to follow when a rogue stealths 190 meters away? Guess that’s what we needed fixed all this time, huh?

More to the lines of you want to be pandered to is my takeaway from this conversation. Guess you didn’t even understand my feelings towards you, had to clarify.
One more time.
I think you can’t play in PvP well based on this conversation, because you so adamantly demand we keep a major warning from 200 meters away that ruins the feel of another class because it assists you in dealing with said class.
Better?

I use spy, its better then using tracking as a hunter, as I can leave beasts on instead. It is also easier since when questing im not staring at my minimap and spy alerts with noises for, well anything the opposing faction does. yes it just reads the combat log, but if I didnt have it, I know I would not be reading it and would have been caught unawares, so its nice that it does this.

If I see someone stealth I immediately drop a trap and use my flares to try and find them. Sometimes I get lucky, other times the rogue just leaves. my thoughts on the addon, I could care less if Blizz banned it, but until they do something to it, I’m using it, without it, id be a very easy target in pvp as I tend to tunnel vision when questing.

That’s the problem, and I’m not about to judge for you using it. But that’s a powerful addon against a specific class, that’s my problem in a nutshell.
I don’t wish for them to ban it, simply remove the stealth warnings from the combat so that I don’t get magically warned when a rogue stealths, or vanishes, or a druid prowls, or even a nightelf shadowmelds. Not how the mechanic was meant to be, and I didn’t have these warnings in vanilla.
Thanks for the honesty. Unlike the other guy he’s afraid to admit he needs it. Kudos to you.

Nah I am not ashamed to admit that, if I want to actually pvp well, hunters are not my class lol. I did most of my pvp as a mage, and this is completely different honestly.

I have a question - does tracker see units that are stealthed?

Because if it doesn’t that says it all right there - blizzard’s intention was to not allow stealthed players to be seen by others. Spy does exactly that.
