Stealth ability doesn’t feel stealthy because of Spy

I didn’t say you wanted the add-on banned.

You asked why I kept saying “he” wants the add-on banned. There are two people in this thread asking for ALL add-ons to be banned, and dozens asking for THIS add-on to be banned.

Except the LFG add-on is still allowed in Classic, so… your point is invalid.

Exactly. Thanks for proving my point. The LFG addon is still there, but the component that made it against the spirit of classic - removing automated party forming - was removed.

They can do the same here. Keep the addon, but remove the portion that is against the spirit of classic - thereby keeping the stealth ability just as it was and was intended to be in vanilla: a sneaking ability, not an announce-my-presence ability with bells, whistles, and alarms.

Nope.

That is still there.

That’s trolling.

Already stated several times, and I’m not the only one here, that the addon is fine. The only change needed to fix the problem is to remove stealth abilities from the combat log. Shadowmeld, stealth and prowl would be good to go.

Right there.

So you’re claiming another addon is doing the same thing Blizz’ removed? Which one is that?

No changes.

It was that way in vanilla, so it should be that way in Classic. Don’t like it, don’t play.

Nope. Learn to read.

Impossible, there’s been many changes so far.

I’m sure most people playing classic rn, myself included, were there originally in the first place. QoL changes will always be there, otherwise it’s stagnant game with no future. Only thing we’d need to worry about is the power creep were they ever to add new content, which don’t get me wrong, we’re not even asking for here. Layers are the perfect example of a major game change, you’re late to the party.

Because you’ve got nothing, and you’re arguing to argue. That’s alright though, I can argue valid points for days.

You are claiming that the automated party inviting feature is still there. Blizzard supposedly broke that part of the addon. If people are still using it, they deserve a ban by Blizzard for cheating and going against the TOS. Are you saying you are still using it?

Perhaps blizzard needs to investigate your addon usage since you are likely using cheating addons that have been banned.

I use the addon and I think it should probably be broken, if you want to stare at your combat log every waking moment you play the game scanning for enemy abilities while you play more power to you, a straight up buzzer and ability to instantly target somebody you can’t see or automatically announce it to chat channels seems to go against the spirit of the game and hinders the experience for pretty much everyone involved.

I’d like not to have to use it but it’s so common right now you’re gimping yourself without it.

I’m the same way! I use it as well because I have to use it to stay competitive. But I hate everything about it. I would love to see it go. And if it is required to stay, at the very least I am begging blizzard to remove the “stealth” ability from showing up in combat logs.

Right now, by stealthing, I am announcing my presence with a loud buzzer in a massive 200 yard range (farther than people can even see me), even if I am stealthing inside a closed building or in a bush. Completely ruins the immersion of a supposed “stealthy” rogue class.

Can agree, I personally find it insane that I’m out here on my priest getting every single announcement of a rogue stealthing. Well, time to take off running away or tell my friends to back me up in case I get ganked. Didn’t see the rogue, but I know he’s around now due to no action of my own. That’s crazy.

Thank you for being open-minded. Mad respect. A lot of people just say “lol screw rogues” and don’t look further into it. Although the spy addon directly buffs your class and helps you against your enemy, you are still open-minded enough to realize how immersion-breaking and crippling the addon is for stealth. You’d make a good judge!

rofl. Sounds like you get your butt kicked a lot by rogues. You said earlier that Spy lets you leave the area when a rogue is around. It must be embarrassing for a druid to need to run in fear at the hint of a rogue.

99% of the players who want to keep this addon just simply hate rogues and don’t know how to effectively play against them. They want Iwin buttons to defeat enemies instead of using actual knowledge and skill.

Sounds like you should always be in stealth problem solved ofc.

Did a rogue gank you in the past week and now you are ardently defending a cheating addon?

Yeah, I must be stealthing around casting renew on people/ganking people with my mace and offhand healing items. Makes sense, I’m just projecting. I just need to get good and stay in stealth to heal. I’m just seeing the garbage in myself, and need to learn to fix my own problems. That’s why I’m trying to have this changed! Thanks for clarifying!

Yep! According to a lot of players always be in stealth. Always.

I’ve yet to say a single thing about PvP experience and I couldn’t care less about wPvP in the slightest. I’m a Feral Druid heavily spec’d for MT roles, Rogues are an annoyance, just like Warriors, nothing more. On the other hand my lack of useful utility talents makes me pretty easy pickings for Warlocks, Priests, etc.

All that being said, the addon is a valid addon no matter how often you want to define it as cheating. It isn’t cheating to read the combat log, anymore than it is cheating for me to forget to swap out of my EH set and make your attacks hit barely over double digits while Thorns kills you.

/shrug

Keep whining about basic addon functionality.

I was replying to the whining Rogue but eh… if you’re THIS sensitive about the matter, it likely applies to you as well.

I’m not sensitive in any way, simply want the best for the game I’ve been playing for over half of my lifespan. Thanks for understanding though, appreciate the quality input you’ve given thus-far.
