All this means is you are a bad rogue. You should always been in stealth unless you:
Stealth and CC are the ONLY advantages you really have. Don’t ever give them up, just because you are bored.

you said you have to stay in stealth full time. That is a fallacy because its impossible. You might have ganked someone, you might be poisoned or have rend, your timer might not be up for restealth, or you could be leveling. You have to re enter stealth after all of these, its impossible to be in stealth 24/7

Stealthing isn’t an act of combat, they’ve not touched me. Perhaps it’s a passive act? To hide maybe, as the ability entails? You need to look the definition of combat up if you think hiding is an act of combat against another individual.
Their future actions doesn’t make every action they take before then an aggressive act.
Stealthing is hardly the only thing the combat log shows that isn’t direct damage.
You are going to be slightly visible by higher levels anyway. So if someone 10 levels higher than you finds you and ganks you, it’s not necessarily because of Spy.
My point is if it’s not combative, it shouldn’t be in the combat log. Especially if it’s a self buff. Why should you be told when I put fortitude on myself?
I play on a pvp server, and if im in the world and see a stealth player, I just log off since I cannot play…
I still get ganked easily by the rogues I know are coming at me, its not hard if you dont pop stealth and then sprint up to me in a straight line, I get free kills off the rogues who are bad, but as a lock, they can currently just do a standard full stunlock and I wont get to do anything while I go from 100-0 because most rogues in vanilla can push the right buttons at the right time.
If you cannot push the right buttons at the right time, you deserve defeat.
Im farming in azshara, even with spy I bet you can kill me.
if you log off when you see a stealth player why did you roll pvp?
Because by design the combat log is supposed to tell people about what is happening around them.
Heh, set it to show everything and then watch the combat log, you would be surprized what it shows about everybody.
Not for nothing, but you actually don’t need Spy or any addon or have to watch the combat log window nonstop to know this same info, it’s a bit nerdy i guess but easily doable
I know what it tells you, this entire post is stating that it shouldn’t be a thing. I said I agree with this, he said he disagrees with both the post and me. I was simply stating my reasoning behind my opinion.
Eh, i get what you are saying, i mean it is a bit odd that a tauren sitting on a rock cooking a fish shows up as a combat event.
I mean was he really going to fatally slap me with the fish?

a group of naked level nothing rogues running about an area stealth cycling pretty much screws up any useful warnings, so could be used to an advantage i guess
From what I’ve read, the only problem with breaking it, is they would also break other addons that read the combat log. It’s a rather sharp double edged sword.
