the auto-marking weakaura dont use skull, X and moon just so you know. And yes it helps alot in insane pulls it’s easy to spot the adds
I mean…back in the day marks were understood but maybe now people don’t know
I’m not talking about “an addon” I’m talking specifically about Noob Blocker and Groupfinder flags.
That won’t work as I don’t only tank when in streams or when doing dungeons with friends. I’m the guy in charge of marking.
Than ignore it. Its not hard to do, or better yet ask people why. I know you did that but you have to understand most people are not paying attention to chat at all during a run. They are either focused on combat or if its a low key on netflix.
Oh nooooo, your keys below level 20. Noooo!
I was in a +2 run by a 2500+ lead tank who was (apparently) deliberately mangling the mechancis. By the 2nd boss in PF he’d died four times and the whole group had wiped twice.
Believe me, it’s possible to screw up by the numbers in low keys and not make the timer, although I think this tank was trolling the group (oddly, it was his group, so I didn’t complain about it).
Whether or not they “primarily tank” if they’re not the current tank at a minimum, they need to ask if it’s okay to run the WA. Defaulting it to run only when the player is in the tank role is a one-check-box tick in the load options.
Yes, and those 2 addons have vastly different impacts on the game for exactly the reasons I mentioned. That’s the reason why one is banned and the other isn’t.
Everyone is at a different place in life and dismissing their concerns because they are at a lower place isn’t a good look
Because one is automated and one isn’t, same impact different optics
If I walk into a movie theater and I stab 5 people in the neck and kill them it will be viewed differently than if I walk into a movie theater and shoot 5 people with an AR15. People don’t care if I use a knife, they care about the gun, same impact, different optics.
Which is why i NEED to have clear access to the only quick communication tool available to me and that’s muddied all to crap when every single target is marked by this aura and the people doing it don’t even know they’re doing it.

I never said just because TSM does stuff better it should be banned. What I said was TSM just simply provides outright greater capabilities and functions than other AH addons. Auctionator for example makes no effort to be an inferior TSM. It’s simply a different type of AH addon.
TSM premium may not be RMT in the sense that it is traditionally viewed. But an addon offering 3rd party paid premium services is…defintely taking it to the next level. If I recall correctly, one of the M+ route addon authors tried to do this and the rage that ensued was epic.
Yes, bots will always bot. But we don’t need to make it easier for them.
Nah OP sounds like a control freak. Bind Skull to a button. You’re only ever going to need to prioritize 1 target in any M+
Really. It’s that simple.
Hahahah. I don’t know how I’d do that short of having recorded the game.
I asked the tank if he knew the route early on and he got really angry with me and lectured me on how uber he was in M+ so I just let it alone. I was honor/gear farming anyway, so it didn’t really matter if we hit the timer.
But believe me, it’s possible to screw up mechanics badly enough to wipe at any level in M+.
Lmao no. A more accurate version of your metaphor would be:
A person with a knife can only harm so many people and only so severely before they are incapacitated. A person with a high power assault rifle on the other hand…
Big difference: the MDT author literally locked necessary addon data behind a paywall. TSM doesn’t do that.
Than I’d just write my own and we would be in the same boat…
Look I get your upset. I really don’t get why but you are definitly upset.
I tried to explain why people use it, why its an annoyance for people to turn it off for the one run your doing while friends eat and than turn it back on but only if whatever group you signed up for as a tank healer needs you to heal and not tank, why you can safely ignore it in the first place, and how not a single person in more than 6 years has ever once asked me to turn it off.
I think I’ve made my points about as clear as I can, there really isn’t much to left to say at this point without just repeating what was already said. You don’t want me to use it I refuse to turn it off, so we can just not group together. I’m ok with you rage quitting if we ever happened to be grouped up.
I have it bound.
For some reason the Healer’s version of the aura (it’s configurable) kept changing it to ME.
I mark very few targets in my runs. Generally it’s only a healer or something that does a horrible DOT (the ones in part of PF I think).
Mostly I just pull and circle the mobs so the DPS can get the most out of Cleave/AOE.
I known to ignore the strays. The problem is that most of the folks I’m trying to show how to do this don’t.
It’s an unnecessary level of confusion that is easily correctable.
After two or three requests to fix it go unheeded, I simply leave rather than argue about it.
If someone wants to tank that bad, they’re free to do so - as whatever class/spec/role they’re currently in.
I’ve never “rage” quit an instance.
I’ve walked away calmly if it’s clearly a no-go.
I had that happen in a NW just this week.
I forgot to set the iLvl requirement and we couldn’t get past the first two packs of trash - there was almost no DPS at all.
I just said, “Nope. Gonna have to try this again.” and walked out.
“Rage” is an emotional state I don’t really let myself get into.
True it was different specifics but my point remains is that when an addon gets to the stage where it has such capacity and advantages that warrent an additional paid service, I would think that would make Blizz think twice. But I guess not since they haven’t done anything about it.
Regardless, it’s primarily thanks to TSM’s paid service that BMAH’s are basically a crapshoot now. Sure if Blizz went after the RMT cross server gold traders, that would put a stop to it. But Blizz is never gonna be able to do that. So all Blizz can do is try to mitigate the issue by making changes to the things it can control, addons for example. Blizz can’t control bots to the same extent. Bots will always exist. But that doesn’t stop them from trying. Hence why Warden exists. And as well they shouldn’t stop trying. It’s a never ending battle and the moment Blizz stops fighting, is the moment the game is screwed.
