I been having this problem all this week when connecting to Oceanic (Nagrand) from the USA very high Latency up into the 5000 range. I use Centrylink/Qwest as my ISP Provider. It has knocked me out from raiding on my main until the issue is fixed because the game is unplayable. I get normal Latency on all US based servers how ever.
Thank you for your reports and connection tests so far. It sounds like the issue has subsided in the mean time!
As far as changes go, there were no changes made on our end. There was some speculation some backbone peering issues between the ISP and our servers may have been the issue. The packet loss on the test looked like it was due to throttling that appeared there may have been some issues closer to the game servers.
Weâll continue to monitor your reports on this thread. If the issue arises within the next few days, let us know and if you can provide new WinMTR tests!
@Gabitha. Thank you for your report! This thread is for tracking users experiencing issues on the Starhub ISP. As you are on a different ISP, please start a new thread with the WinMTR requested so our community can help diagnose the issue from there.
This is how it looks like on a normal weekday evening

Same as everyone else from Singapore on all other ISPâs been happening for days, donât know why you seem to think it is only Starhub, but figured I might aswell open a new thread for MyRepublic.
Latency randomly spiking through the roof making game unplayable, seems to happen in combat in instances mostly. Also when restarting the game ping is still so high that it cant retrieve character list, just sits at a blank screen so you have to wait a few minutes to return to normal before you can log in.
Does not affect any other game or program on my computer, I can still talk clearly to people on discord for example while WoW is completely lagged out and everyone is running on the spot with 5k+ ms.

same problem here myrepublic ispâŚ
Update: just happened to me in Boralus for the first time, latency was 1k+ and my character was moving at mount speed even inside buildings cant click on anything cant use any ability cant even log out. Getting harder and harder to justify paying for this game as this expansion goes on to be frank.
Same here. World latency keeps spiking randomly.
Happens in the US too. Simply put, the servers arenât stable. Back in 2011, when servers started being merged, the hardware held the capacity to communicate with two servers at a reasonable pace. However, with sharding and every server virtually talking to each other now, there is no way to measure what hardware would deal well with that kind of capacity because there are so many different servers involved that hold so many variables. Getting âthe best pieces out thereâ opens the door for a huge net loss. Thereâs no simple resolution for this one outside of reverting server mergers; personally iâd like to see server communities exist again, but thatâs not on the agenda.
For any MyRepublic customers or Blues that read this, I am currently in contact with the ISP and they are saying they outsource their network paths to StarHub or something so they think it is a Starhub issue, I have sent all the relevant data to them such as traceroutes, in-game latency, winmtr reports etc. and they are escalating it with StarHub. Will update here when I learn more.
SG, Starhub.

Not even remotely the same issue, and this is coming from a player whoâs played on Oceanic realms the past 8+ years, and during the server transfer process when they shifted the physical servers to Australia.
This string of major lagspikes only started for us over the past few days for the most part, and seems to be centered around only us Singaporeans. Australians and NZ doesnât seem to have the same issue.
âWeâre facing the same lag spikes as US players, but theyâre totally not related to the same issue.â
Explain to me how something that happened 8 years ago, suddenly causes a problem now.
You took three words, and just ran with them. Try reading the whole post.
I did. And it changes nothing. Your hyperbolic scenario isnât the main issue here, seeing as itâs only SINGAPOREAN/SINGAPOREAN-LINKED ISPs that are being affected here. Literally a 5 second glance of the front page topics would have shown you this. There has been absolutely zero reports on this forum recently from anyone else reporting the same, identical issue, namely huge spikes of over 10-20k ms upon entering an instance.
Your âHappens in the US tooâ is false. Neither are Australians and NZs affected, despite sharing the same Oceanic servers as us.
Could your scenario be a possible reason for general lag? Sure. But when itâs only one tiny country and certain users in itâs neighbouring countries thatâs affected? And so suddenly in such ridiculous amounts? Hell no. You can take your higher than thou attitude and shove it into another thread where it might actually be useful.
Iâm confident that word doesnât mean what you think it means.
Because most people have already had this discussion. Youâre late to the party.
Do you play on Aus/NZ servers? Clearly not. The impact of having unstable servers affects people worldwide.
General lag and situational lag are different. Right now, having every server communicate with each other is situational lag brought on by a disastrous concept.
Just because itâs only one tiny country doesnât protect it from technical flaws.
Giving factual information is having a higher than thou attitude? Haha, step outside of your glass house. Facts donât care about your feelings.
Hyperbolic would mean to be grossly exaggerated. A good example of such: Your intelligence.
Funny, since I have been part of that discussion. I, and many of my friends and guildies have been experiencing server lag the past few months/years, especially since the start of BFA. However, that was merely a 1-2 second extra delay on abilities at most. This however, is literally leaving peopleâs games locked out for 20-30 minutes. And itâs funny how you claim that it happens in the US, yet looking back the past few weeks of topics here shows nothing in the forums. Clearly it wasnât as big as issue there as you make it out to be now, if it ever was.
Another shining example of your intelligence. Quoting my posts or looking up my profile clearly shows Iâm on Nagrand. Which is an Oceanic server. Oceanic servers are based in Australia. Simple enough for you to understand?
Yet somehow, despite âevery serverâ experiencing lag, only Singaporean ISPs appear to be locking out players.
Just because both experience similar symptoms, doesnât mean the cause is the same. Another big indicator of a different cause, would obviously be the vast differences in symptom severity. For example, I literally cannot log into WoW right now. Logging in shows an entirely black screen on my character page, with all options greyed out. All my Australian AND American friends are however, happily playing in-game right from what I can see on my Battlenet friends list.
I never claimed otherwise. God knows how you got that.
âFactual informationâ? Nothing you said has been supported with evidence. You gave a theory. Now whereâs your proof? Whereâs the Blue post explaining that our situation is caused by server mergers or whatever tinfoil theory youâve cooked up?
The only blue posts on this issue are found on threads such as: Starhub Singapore, Singtel, MyRepublic - Lots of Spikey World delay - #43 by Fatalethal-thaurissan
Which are asking us to submit logs, because they donât know the reason yet. Yet you, Mr Keyboard Warrior Oracle, from your Basement Throne, knows the real reason we canât play?
