Might wanna put some context on what’s normal, just to chime it as a fellow Singaporean player.
On broad band last year, nominal ping hovers between 110-120ms. Switching to Fiber at the start of October I enjoyed 90ms. A week or two later ping went up to 170+ and that has been my norm ever since.
Today my ping has been randomly spiking between 3 - 12k ms
Found an old thread and apparently this hasn’t been resolved.
My world ms has been spiking tonight, started around 2am PST, went from 15ms to over 20k, and then kept settling around 2k, with frequent spikes of 5k+. Tanking Mythics was not fun, but settling in for a cold one, and wait for this all to blow over.
I’ve created two tickets about this issue with limited to no response. I can’t do instanced content with this kind of lag and considering that’s literally the game, what’s the point of playing? Can we get at least some kind of update on what’s going on?
Yeah, it spiked originally during first boss of Atal Dazar, wasn’t fun, then thought it had settled at the end, so went for another dungeon and it hadn’t, decided to do something passive outside of a dungeon and it settled to 16
Hey, there! Most appear to be on oceanic servers. Just a few questions!
Does this happen only in instances or does it happen in the open world as well?
Does it spike with addons disabled, or continues with a full reset UI?
How often are the latency spikes to the thousands?
If it continues after a full reset on the user interface, let’s grab a WinMTR test and Looking Glass test to compare. Thanks everyone for your reports!
I have noticed this issue with lag spike since Friday night OCE server from singapore. Just to be clear, this has nothing to do with server lag spike that people complained about since start of BfA.
The observed lag is more like rubberbanding and connection freezes without disconnects. The delay can be as long as 20s when it happens and will eventually catch up.
My guild mates and I experienced this issue when raiding. This is where whe observed that connection from Singtel and Starhub were the ones affected. While M1 and connection from Australia were fine. I can post my YouTube recording on how bad it is much later to show how it was.
For me, it more or less only happens in instances.
Yes, it does.
When I’m in instanced content, it will persist for the entire time I’m instanced. It will almost immediately spike up and stay there. The game is unplayable.
I can’t even create a ticket about this! I’ve created multiple threads asking for help, and all I’m getting is a silent treatment. If this is persisting to the end of the month, I’ll just cancel my sub cause at the moment, I’m not having fun cause I can’t even play the game.
Got a bunch of guildies from Singapore. Can confirm that all on Singtel and Starhub are affected when they zone into instances. Raid and dungeons are both affected. Opulence is so not doable right now with people dc’ing in the rooms before the boss.
From Singapore here as well, having these lag spikes about every 15-20min of game play or so starting from Thursday night. Yesterday it happened in the open world while doing world quests as well but it is especially bad in instanced activity. In raid, once you pull the boss, you get immediate lag spikes to around 2.5k world ms. You can restart the game and come back to 170ms or so however, the latency will slowly climb back to 2k ms, makes it very frustrating to play. Same thing, mostly Singaporeans affected in my guild, both Starhub and Singtel, however one who was using Starhub said he was not affected. Suspect its a routing issue and yesterday I tried VPN to Perth, I got the same lag spikes. However when i switched to Melbourne, the lag spikes disappeared.
Same thing here in singapore using Myrepublic ISP, having exactly the same issue as everyone else here for the last few days. Massive latency spikes out of nowhere usually on bosses in raids and dungeons. Tried all the usual reset ui etc etc. Still happening. EDIT: probably worth noting that everytime this happens my internet is 100% fine, other games work fine and I can continue talking to people in discord as usual even when my WoW MS is so high that I cant use a single action and everyone is running on the spot.
