Starhub Singapore, Singtel, MyRepublic - Lots of Spikey World delay

Hi Blizzard Support, I am also facing the similar issue with the rest of the players who are subscribed to an ISP called Starhub, in Singapore.

Moments ago before posting this response, I was raiding with my guild with a minimum of 6,080 ms latency. The lag was so bad that the fight with Taloc already ended, but on my screen, the fight was going on for the next 2 minutes.

On the other hand, I will be making a formal complaint/feedback to Starhub about my experiences in hopes for their perusal to action on this issue that plagued many brothers and sisters.

Below is the copy/paste of my WinMTR report.

Hi all.

Iā€™ve made a post on Starhub forums as well if you guys would like to add on for them to have a look community.starhub. com/t5/Fibre-BroadBand/High-Latency-in-World-of-Warcraft/td-p/168659

(just connect the link together since I canā€™t post links in forums)

Same issue on Cael server. Same ISP. I spend the day reinstalling thinking that the game files were messed up.

Same issue on Nargrand US. Same ISP

Yep. Same issue here. Called up Starhub. They claimed they did a troubleshoot and asked me to contact blizzard. Recently submitted a ticket, will update if anything.
However, has anyone managed to get this settled?

Lagged started for me after the server maintenance on Tuesday.

Iā€™ve been having this same issue with 1000-20,000ms lag on Oceanic servers, although Iā€™m connecting from the US with CenturyLink as my ISP. If I connect to US servers, I experience no lag.

Should I make a new thread for this (since Iā€™m not in Singapore using StarHub), or should I post my WinMTR in here (since Iā€™m experiencing what seems to be the same issues)?

Thank you all for your reports so far and trying what was suggested earlier! We are currently tracking the issue and gathering information for the latency spikes in-game to diagnose where the problem is. Your patience is greatly appreciated!

Any new information and diagnosis on the issue will be updated on this thread!

@Gravigazer Please post a new thread as weā€™re tracking StarHub latency spike issues on this thread.

Same. They claimed it isnā€™t their problem until I stated, ā€œmy family and friends whom are using other ISPs are unaffected. Isnā€™t the troubleshooting should be done on the backend of your network than onto your users?ā€

All I got was a few moments of silence and then the response was totally unrelated.

Anyway, I hope Blizzard support will rectify the latency issue as swiftly as possible.

No offence to blizzard or to you guys. But i really feel you are handling this situation very poorly. Given that it has been happening for almost 2 days you cant gather what is actually causing this lag. Most of us who use starhub have one of the highest internet connections. I for one have played this game 6 years and never once lagged. i really feel quite disheartened that the matter cant even be resolved within 2 days. Its not a free to play game. I log in today and i still see the same result.

I honestly think that this isnā€™t a starhub problem. Because all my other games that are connected via the internet run smoothly. The internet speed test is still showing normal results. I am very sure that this is a blizzard issue.

High latency spikes is a frustrating issue to run into and impacts your gameplay experience. We greatly appreciate your patience during this time. In the situation of peering/routing issues, it can take some time to resolve as it is being diagnosed and looked into, it is especially important part to gather tests during this time, in efforts to pinpoint and correct the underlying issue. These connection tests help to check if there is an issue on the ISP network, a peering partner, or the servers.

In the earlier reports, some players mentioned a different ISP or hotspot/tethering and connecting through that, or using a Virtual Private Network (VPN) client has helped with the latency spikes. We donā€™t support this kind of thing directly since each VPN and phone is different. This is not a fix, but it may improve your gameplay in the mean time if youā€™d like to check these resources.

We are continuing to monitor this thread and gather the connection tests provided. To help with communication and visibility in the mean time, itā€™s worth reporting and providing the WinMTR tests to the ISP.

Same ISP. Same issue for the last 2 days and Wed (although it wasnā€™t as bad). These last 2-3 days have been plain awful.

I am also facing this issue. To be honest, this also happened on Wednesday 9/1/2019 night (GMT+8) when I first encountered this issue.

I also double checked with a guildie who is on starhub, he is also having this issue. Weā€™re connecting to Thaurissan.

He is using VPN as a workaround, while interestingly, my phones are also starhub and while using tether 1 of them still have this issue (the newer line) and the other line with older sim card is fine.

Hereā€™s my results from WinMTR. Starhub as well.

I started in Zuldazar and then entered Darkshore warfront. While in ZDZ I had the lag issue and 3 to 5 second cast delays. Entered DS WF and it was ALL gone. Zero issue at all. Ping on UI dropped to 180 which is still high compared to a few weeks ago (90 to 125) but very playable.

Same issue having high latency.

Thought it was just for awhile but it seems to be all the time when I log in to WOW since 09-Jan-19. Was just about to add subscription to my account ending on 19-Jan-19.
Please see my results. Not sure what the values means.
