I power cycle my routers every morning (habitual as i am a network engineer by training) and my desktop connection to my router is via Cat6e Ethernet cable.

Considering the amount of frustration some of us have trying to play atm, you cannot imagine how loud the facepalm echoes across the cosmos.

Again I stress, the lag spikes do not happen when pugging on US realms. ONLY OCE. When applying and being invited to a US grp, you might/will DC/freeze, but restarting client does the trick.

This is specifically an OCE network issue.

Had to do a hard ALT-F4 just to exit the game, and came back to the inevitable lag both on the login and character selection screen.

And yes, once I get sharded to a US server for a Love Is In The Air dungeon run, all seems to be fine.

Been monitoring the MTR and in game latency. When the ping spikes, numbers on MTR and Task Manager - Resource Manager - Tcp Connection latency values are normal.

Chat however is consistently unaffected.

And no this is not just a starhub problem.

After server reboot, nothing seemed to change about the crazy spikes in latency.
And i realised WinMTR is not entirely representative of the gaming experience. For example, I am seeing 17k latency but (at one moment, 20k latency, i have picture to show) it is not captured on WinMTR.

The gaming experience was so lag to the point of seeing other players running on the spot for more than 2 minutes, and I had to Alt-F4 to quit the game and tried multiple attempts (in a span of 3-5 minutes) to re-login. Alas, I am at the character selection page, but do not see any characters of mine and it was showing a black background. And again, I had to close the game client, and run the game in hopes to log into the game with a character.

I am pretty sure there is nothing wrong with Singapore’s ISPs.
I also understand that the last 5 hops (I.P. addresses) happens to be on U.S. end.

What happened exactly? Everything was fine until mid to late January 2019?
This is really really frustrating!

Thanks for the WinMTR results everyone. This is something that we’re tracking right now and looks like its affecting other players around the Oceanic region as well. We have seen some reports that a VPN may help. If its something your familiar with, its something that you may try in the meantime to see if the alternate routing helps.

Can you not talk nonsense thanks? This is the third time this month this has happened. Our country has one of the best internet connections in the world. I played this game 6 years no issue. I tell you now your customer support is trash. And if you dont do something soon you will loose all your subscribers. It is your server problem and you know it! FIX IT.

Hey likewise over here too.

Same ISP, did a trace route and the latency response is about ‘normal’ at 170ms.
Home latency ranges from 1k - 3k.
World latency ranges from 4k - 12k.
