They still haven’t undone what they broke in patch 7.3.5. Level scaling of NPCs was enough to slow down leveling IMO.
Blizz wants to do a level squish now because their data probably shows players are not leveling up as much anymore veteran or new players.
Blizz has to fix what they broke IMO.
I personally would prefer them to add more abilities and talents back to fill the gaps of leveling if they insist on slowing people down.

They don’t have to. The content already exists, you know - from the expansions.
XP buff does that without a squish.
If it takes 60 hours to do 1 to 60 thats a player issue
No issue with the stat squish, but combine that with a level squish not sure that would feel “rewarding”. Just my 2 cents.

Level scaling was a great change that enabled you to actually quest zones.
Correction: The zone scaling was a great change.
The level scaling was terrible.

That is great but then they messed up the rest of the leveling experience with all other changes that were not needed.
I appreciate that they are gradually undoing the damage they did to leveling pacing but it is still not enough if they are proposing a level squish.
Zone scaling is level scaling. You’re confusing level and item level scaling
…No, I’m not. XP values were altered when the zone scaling was implemented, as well as a nerf to heirlooms and RAF.

The pace is friggen fine. It shouldn’t take just 20 hours to hit level cap.
Then what is a squish going to do, exactly?
And reduced again in 8.1
They also introduced war mode, a new potion and of course buffed heirlooms to level cap. I bet i could do 110 to 120 in 5 hours without doing islands
If the pacing is fine Blizz wouldn’t be thinking of doing a level squish. If you mean that Blizz will do a level squish and still leave the same pacing then what is the point of a level squish?
All that will accomplish is make players feel like progressions is meaningless.

It also made leveling near 100% worthless.

Let’s see. Your a new player looking at an mmo and you see 60 levels or 120. What looks better?

It would allow them to make it so you gain abilities more often and talents more often, and rebalance things in a way so your not going 20 levels with nothing?
So again it seems to come down to people thinking new players (as if new players are actually a major thing for a game this old) are just ignorent.

Neither, because XP values are what will determine how fast those levels pass.
Crazy, I know.

How? If anything buffing the level cap this high in the first place is the biggest issue.
That sounds great for new players but bad for veteran players. Going with no new talent tier since WoD and new baseline abilities since MoP a good strategy for this game long term? I doubt it.
No. But perception is huge. I bet i could do levels 110 to 120 in 5 hours or less. Is that really a lot of time? Not even close.
