(Spoilers) Elune's identity retconned and RUINED

Yeah but it was the Forsaken’s Teldrassil.

When she killed her own peeps because they didn’t believe in her anymore.

… I kind of thought it would have been obvious at this point.

The NE’s and Taurens treated her as a goddess but I have thought, ever since they started to really expand upon the Titans and the cosmic forces, that Elune would end up being either part of a Titan equivalent for Life or someone who was the next level up as a representative of Nature Energy.

No, it’s specifically stated in Legion. In game.

I’m not sure how creating an alien race of windchimes from Light, when the Naaru had to come from somewhere, is somehow Christian influenced.

… there is no Christianity going on here…

That’s pretty much only you. I’ve never once heard anyone else attempt to equate Elune to Christianity.

not entirely sure about this. Power levels go all over the place all the time.

The fact of the matter is is that the eternal ones of the shadow lands are basically on the same level as titans or are at least supposed to be their equivalent. The same with the pantheons of all of the cosmic powers it can be assumed. Of course they have varying power levels however elune could likely become like sargeras and squish sylvanas like a bug. The trouble would be manifesting in that form.

many of the civilians did hate that but also remember there were still many loyalists to sylvanas after she left and even when she was there who saw it as a needed evil to stop the alliance from taking ground and they do have the stuff needed to get rid of plagued area’s in hillsbrad quests you help clean that up in stormheim you see it as well. so i my self asumed before all the lore revealed that they would just have it cleaned up.

Strange that’s weird. I never compared real life religions to in game stuff.

What do people think when they hear “Ishnu’ allah”.

Do they take the last word?

Titans were seen as gods at one time as well. If You see Elune as a goddess then she is.

Learning new information is not a retcon.

with elune being revealed as the winterqueens sister. that makes me wonder about the other deity of azeroth the sun God An’she is he related to them or what.

exactly my thoughts. Although I was thinking they would go beyond and have elune be a first one.

Eonar being the winter queen’s sister being my prediction and elune the “mother”(creator) of both of them.

No idea. I mean, even the Holy Light stuff wasn’t really Christian, because it didn’t come from a god. They just embraced the Light. I know there’s a church and all, but there’s no deity equated to it. :woman_shrugging:

And Blizz specifically pointed out that they aren’t. Then also pointed out that Elune is the only true deity that we know of.

This is the most logical route. But… it’s also Blizz. lol

It’s speculated like a couple times in the priest class hall which frankly I’d like to forget because it was such a dull storyline.

My point is still people clinging to the idea of Elune as some sort of creator goddess if anything also cheapens her value to pre-sundering elven society or current kaldorei society. She effectively becomes a goddess of all, which doesn’t strike me as better at all, if she’s mother of the Naaru.

No one has ever said she created the mortal races. So I’m not sure where you’re getting this from. Speculation she may have created a being of pure Light that isn’t a mortal race doesn’t equate to Christianity.

In what way?

they did say the jailer is more powerful than the titans and hes titan plus plus in power. that got me thinking that the other eternal ones might be at the least more powerful if not equal to the titans in power. and with elune being the winterqueen an eternal ones sister that also lead to another thought the eternal ones and the other beings of the other cosmic forces might be more powerful in the physical universe than their own. like the concept that higher dimentional beings would be beyond anything we would be able to concieve or understand.

I mean… the old gods were gods too. The titans as well. Literally everything we fought was considered a god to something somewhere.

Oh heck, I’m allowed the occasional rant like every one else! This one gets me…grrrrrr

You’re jumping ahead of yourself. Yeah, she’s the Winter Queen’s “sister” but there are a number of possibilities:

  1. Is it a literal sister? Or is it more of a reflection of her being a parallel to the winter queen outside of the shadowlands?

  2. just because they are sisters doesn’t mean their power level is equal and the quest test doesn’t indicate there is a pantheon of life.
