It’s not armor, it’s tmog, it’s not required for anything, and it’s available for free for subbing for 6 months at a time which is a discount to subbing at a normal month to month rate. They made it available for $20 so people wouldn’t complain about it being only available as a gift for the 6 month sub.

It is, but not in the way you seem to think.
If you remember, they first made a mount free with 6 month sub and people complained that they couldn’t get it any other way so blizz added it to the store so that people had another way to get it, that’s why they added the tmog to the store this time.

So why isn’t rewarded with people that have been subbed already for 6 months? It’s pure greed getting you to commit 6 months to something that could suck or not even come. Would you be okay commiting 6 months of sub and them leaving you in prepatch for those 6 months?
If this was obtainable via an in game quest line or as a reward for pet battling or rewarded to people who had already been subbed for 6 months I’d be okay. Getting people to commit to 6 months at a time is not okay. Especially when we have been asking for class mogs in game forever and instead we got 4 identical mogs for all content this last patch.
Like how is this okay with people. There’s lots of ways to make it okay. The current set up is not okay.

She is right, anything that’s get added on the ingame store us actually content from the game getting sold to us.
It’s a promotion, do you know any promotion in any other business that works that way? No I didn’t think so. You don’t get a reward retroactively.
Have you heard of Blizzard Balance? Gold grinding, which you use to buy tokens, can be used to transfer to that balance. Which you can buy shop items with.

Because it’s a reward for a 6 month sub, they just added it to the store because people complained last time they added a 6 month sub reward and there was no other way to obtain it.
Because it was intended as as promotion for buying a 6 month sub. People wanted to get it without the sub. So we have a way to get it without spending a dime and without a 6 month sub.

Its currently impossible for any item to be added to the store or in game that you can’t purchase with both real life money or in game actions/gold.
Could’ve just said: “they want to milk as much money out of the playerbase as possible” without the need to write all these paragraphs.
And you could have answered yourself before you asked the question. “Because they are a corporation.”
