So to all the people saying “We’re not losing content, though!” aside from the obvious fact that everything in the cash shop literally is content and we’re being charged for it…they literally scrapped what could have been a fun looking quest and charged their fanbase $20 for the reward? How is that fun?
How is paying $20 more fun than doing a cool quest?
Transmog does not belong in the shop in the first place if we’re paying for a monthly subscription and for expansions, keep in-game content IN-GAME!

FF14 is actually re-selling at one point free gear. And their players are celebrating over it.

Speculation and people’s feelings do not equal proof, there is nothing in game or anywhere that proves this was ever supposed to be a quest reward.

it was available free in game, then it went away, now people are looking forward to paying real life money for it
Would love to point out some of that “free” gear have been for special events that give different rewards every year. This has given people a way to get gear they could other wise never earn again.

To OP: It’s speculation, not confirmed. Also – how many times by how many people does it need to be said that if you simply pay for a 6 month sub the Sprite Darter’s costume is completely FREE
The amount charged for the 6 month sub is no more expensive than it ever has been - it’s always been more cost-effective for people to pay for their sub’s 6 months at a time. They only started trying to give incentive to people to stay subbed longer by giving free things away.
If you spend the $20 for just the tmog and then complain about paid content, then you’re a dumb piece of 
for not taking the obvious win of getting it free for subbing.
