Meaning, Classic is based on the wrong patch.
Hey we’re making progress here
People like you wouldn’t be happy with any patch level, you’d still find something to complain about.
Lol exactly! Classic isn’t based off the vanilla patch people wanted!
if instanced PVE is why you play Classic, I feel sorry for you. The game is so much more. And so much more fun.
The goal is to revisit the experience we had back in the days. It is the same content but it should remain a challenging and entertaining experience.
Since we know Classic has a definite “ending”, the devs should make sure the materials they have right now is not crushed in the first minutes.
If they tune up the difficulty, I believe people will more appreciate their experience on the long run.
If the players crush the content too fast, there will be no sense of accomplishment and no real goal.
The players will become bored very quickly and will ultimately kill the game way before than expected.
Clasic != Vanilla, Blizzard were asked for VANILLA servers … personaly I don’t care one way or the other, Classic is fine for me, but let’s face it few people were asking for THIS version of ‘vanilla’ with such broken class mechanics favoring one class hugely over the rest.
Oh wait you were serious?
…
We’re gaining a lot more traction in support of this than I thought we would! Let’s keep going! We will get Classic on the right Vanilla patch!
AoE farming was always a thing in Vanilla though- and we’re in the easiest patch of Vanilla. I personally wanted regular patch progression over the same period of time with zero changes. I’d even have been fine if that meant keeping old graphics ratio limitations and none of the modern chat QOL- but I wouldn’t have made a fuss about small things like that, or the new graphics slider that goes way higher than the original limits.
But alas, that’s not what we got- some won’t realize this is easy mode Vanilla, but at the same time it’s still pretty close to Vanilla and I’m having fun so I can’t be mad about most things (other than the instanced layering exploits).
Nope. That’s what you wanted the experience to be.
Blizzard was very transparent during the entire process and if you were confused and expected something different that isn’t the fault of Blizzard.
And let’s be real here, Blizzard is not a great company but in regards to Classic launch the only people who were mislead are the people that expected any challenge from a 15 year old museum release regardless of patch level.
They really weren’t transparent enough with mob difficulty. They should’ve showed off that 1.12 Deadmines test much sooner. 3 months prior to launch wasn’t enough time.
Yes, they were.
The problem is unreal expectations from increased difficulty on private servers. Private servers (Elysium, Nost, Lightshope) have all stated that they increased mob difficulty.
Blizzard stayed true to Blizzard’s version.
“regardless of patch level”?
lol
As it stands, Classic Wow has the easiest dungeons I have ever experienced, and I think it can be argued that they are even easier than any current MMO, including retail. Heck, bosses in Mario Odessy are harder!
Classic feels like the opposite of retail: difficult world, easy dungeons.
Maybe I could handle dungeons being easy if they just weren’t so BORING.
I can barely tell apart a mob from a boss because they all just stand there.
The only way I can find some fun is being the healer because then I actually need to react, and even then I’m having more fun questing.
No they weren’t. They should have dug up that 1.12 server and client at the start of Classic’s development and been all “So is this what you guys want with mob difficulty, or should we tune it up a little?”
This isn’t the first time Blizzard didn’t do enough on their part to give us what we wanted.
Trust me Vanilla wow dungeons were fun back in the day due to needing to pay attention to aggro both pulling it from tank and pulling other groups of mobs. Was a blast.
Plus when you get a mob that runs in fear to another group or someone backs up into that group? That was often a wipe.
I have to imagine that the dungeons WERE more difficult because Leeroy Jenkins in the current environment would be thanked for pulling mobs faster!
lol. Amazing comment.
Got that right!
