Speed running dungeons needs to end

Is it though? I don’t recall ever blitzing through m+ unless it’s a super low key, certainly not the way people speed through queued dungeons. In fact I’d say anything over a +11 is quite smooth compared to the go go go mentality the OP is posting about.

Well if you got a bunch of alts they want to blast through as many dungeons as they can to get the levels in. But common sense should apply that you should wait for your team members and not try to solo the entire dungeon yourself. Many times people have been locked out of boss fights for super rushing.

This includes mob skipping, Grabbing 1000x mobs and going a 1000mph not waiting for your team, Pulling bosses when people are miles away from you.

ya the speed dungeoning needs to stop. This isn’t diablo. It’s just mass aoe chaos and is completely boring.

Because that’s how the game should be. An experience. Why play any video game?

This is not new. This is not possible to change without changing the game big time. All that’s happening is yelling at a wall.

When I’m healing, I agree in that I hate unnecessary deaths due to the tank not noticing they’re alone, aren’t holding threat, or didn’t LoS enough to get the casters that have now eaten the dps trying to catch up. However, I don’t want to be there longer than I have to, and I enjoy the chaos.

My wanting to go quickly is just as valid a playstyle as you wanting to go slower. I don’t want you telling me how to play any more than you are wanting others to tell you how to play (ie go faster). It’s been said 100 times, but the way around this is to form your own group of like-minded people. Not trying to force everyone to your way of playing.

What I really like about M+ is if you try to employ the same speed running strats you see in leveling dungeons, the trash will mop the floor with you.

CC isn’t needed in normal or heroic.

And CC pre-pull isn’t a thing anymore. Instead of how Cata was and you need to sheep a mob, sap another, and root a 3rd, all CC is done in-combat. You need to stun, silence, interupt, knockback DURING combat. It’s the new model. WoW along with all other video games are just getting faster and faster. There is no end in sight.

May this occur soon in game.

I actually miss talking to people when the healer meds up.

If I’m any role that’s non-healer, I defer to the healer to dictate the pace. It makes no sense to make their time a nightmare. They are literally the ones keeping people alive.

Now, if there is obviously no problem and they are just actually being petulant (which looting, needing mana, and not wanting to run themselves ragged chasing a runaway tank are decidedly not), that’s a different story.

The not rezzing thing is… well, that part is borderline IMO.

And all you’ve proved with your statement is that you, yourself are a petulant child who thinks the whole of the community needs to bend to you. Absolutely not.

As a tank, I agree. I had a healer running ahead of the group and pulling everything, yoinking me down hallways and such.

It would still occur if the dev’s took timers off. The faster you complete a dungeon the more you can complete per day, and thus you have more chances at loot. Just wanted to clarify this point

Nah, the person I’m replying to, and clearly you as well, place their time and money above the other people in their group. As an individual, you must acquiesce to the wants of the majority of the group, or you can leave. Forcing people to play at a slower pace simply because it’s what you prefer is selfish.

If you want to move at a snail’s pace so you can smell the roses and admire the way the flames from the torch cast shadows on the wall, I recommend you find people who wish to share in that experience not hold four strangers hostage.

Non-timed dungeons like leveling are run way faster than mythic+ keys and skip more trash since there is no forced %.

Wrath dungeons are also ran fast.

Slow dungeons only come back if they buff dungeons and cripple player power in many ways (aoe threat and damage, healer and dps mana, etc.)

I’m sorry I got a good chuckle out of imagining a priest leashing the tank around.

The issue I have is that the decision to speed run a dungeon whether put together manually or through a queue can be made solely by one player. Because the tank rarely suffers the consequence of biting off more than the group can chew, 80% of the group is solely at the mercy of the 20% that doesn’t need them to be successful. The minority is getting to dictate how the majority will experience the game in that run.

Yes, forming your own group manually is a way to avoid this, but that feels a lot like giving up your seat on the bus to a bully.

Not in normal/heroic and regular mythic. Back in mop mythic + was challenge mode with cosmetic rewards.

That all changed in wod.

Only thing i can think of to fix this speed mentality is to lower all tanks defensive capabilities. Up mobs health and damage and make abilities that promote ccing. Because if you dont? You will be punished as in ccing the healer of your group or debuffing the tank so much that it kills the tank if not done properly.

Give the classes that have cc capabilites (mages polymorph, rogues sap etc) reason to use their ccs again… and if someone breaks those ccs it will wreck havoc on your group causing a wipe.

Heroic needs to go back to being HEROIC instead of this mode that makes it to where its a speed fest and mythic needs to be removed. Mythic + needs to be its own version seperate from raids because as it stands right now. Mythic + is just a way to gear seperatly from raids.

I can go on about how this game promotes speed runs but…that is what people are used to. Burninf crusade had reasons to be careful in heroic dungeons. It needs to go back to that. Heroic mode needs to be the stepping stone again to raiding like it used to be.
