Speed running dungeons needs to end

I can’t count how many dungeons I’ve been in since DH introduction into WoW where a DH tank zips off dies and in chat “?” shows up right after.

I agree that this is a cool system, however I’m telling you now the WoW community would just 100% vote kick everyone who got lost and wasted time. I guarantee it.

I had some internet trouble a couple months ago where I’d D/C for literally under a minute like once every couple of hours. Sometimes that’d happen during a dungeon, so I’d say at the start that this was happening and I’d be back in quite literally one minute.

Happened 3 times. I was kicked all 3 times.

WoW players have no chill. :frowning:

Except Blizzard designed Dragonflight dungeons with more unavoidable group damage. When your tank is running for a minute straight through no fewer than 8 packs, the group is going to take a fair bit of rot damage even if they don’t press a single ability. This leads to deaths or the healer trying to save them and getting aggro.

On heroic or mythic its none existent…

Let alone normal.

You could probably set up some some group finders for slower pace. Manybwoyld be up for it if they bother to look. I personally don’t mind healingba fast tank. It they die it is on them.

Im not telling anyone how to play BUT I will say if you ever want to “dungeon crawl” hmu fam or anyone else. Might as well be a positive in the convo. I dont think ppl realize in terms of transmog certain untrackable “world drops” actually come from trash mobs within isntances & raids, so if you speed run you actually miss out on the opportunity to collect them or an item at current level that would be considered rare & unique. :v:t5: & hairgrease.

While I agree with you, speed running in random groups is the norm in WoW now. Because you (and me) want to do things differently, it’s up to us to find like minded people to run them with and take out that element of randomness.

When you’re leveling and/or undergeared, this just isn’t a true statement. I had more than a few Neltharus and Brackenhide Hollow runs while leveling or gearing one of my healer alts where people were dying to incidental damage as we’re following the tank to the next boss.

I just leveled a disc priest and literally all I did was dungeons and they only time I had to heal was on the boss fights and it was extremely minimal…

On normal…and if one is trying to run dungeons, on heroic or mythic, they’re doing it wrong if gear is what they are trying to get

“It’s up to you to get the kind of group YOU want,” Oh BS. The fact is when people do this (pull every group and don’t stop AT ALL until final boss) I take the easy XP but it just doesn’t change how effing STUPID it is.

When they do this they are breaking the game. It isn’t designed to play that way. I get it that a certain type of person just doesn’t see this, they see how people play as How The Game Is Played with zero thought or insight as to How It Should Be Played.

There is no win. Just /follow and take the easy xp. Worst thing about any MMO is the other players.

For those who can’t read between the lines I’m saying I would get more out of these dungeons if all my teammates were bots. At least then things would happen as they are supposed to and not just gogogogogogotilendnoob.

:100: :+1:t5: :+1:t5: Exactly fam, i will say your definitely rewarded in terms of gear item level speed running from getting the currencies to raise your item level in random groups, i cant hate on that aspect. I do miss doing a dungeon/raid/ instance for the first time and feeling it out tho, you know?

I like your style.

Nowhere as rampant back then as it is now, not even close.

I wasnt always a solo player, believe me.

Why does the the person in a rush get to force everyone to move at their pace?

this is an interesting thread.

can somebody explain to me the benefit of taking more time to complete the same content?

To be fair, there is a stark difference between pulling at a good pace and not being able to keep up on slower classes.

I recognize there’s an outlier here, but I have seen many times the boss is dead before people can even get there.

A fast pace is generally okay. Breakneck, which I suspect the OP is alluding to, can be a bit much.

IKR? lol

It’s become meme-worthy at this point. They should honestly make an in-game toy about it.

Players that are doing Timewalking dungeons for example are mostly above normal raid gear and and just blowing through the 5 dungeons for the heroic raid quest piece. When 4 of the players want to get through those dungeons at fast as possible, don’t try and hold everyone else back.

The issue that comes in to play is when people don’t bother with mechanics. Some people don’t know about the fears/silences/stuns/mana burns, and end up getting rekt when they pull two full rooms.

I mean, it’s funny to watch as a healer, because I know exactly what’s going to happen. No amount of posting in chat will deter them.

I usually just post something like “lol rekt” in chat if they end up wiping us from derpness.
