Why do group content if you’re going to get angry at how the majority in any given group chooses to play?
No one should be getting upset. That includes you and folks who lose their minds at mistakes.

Well if I was on an RP Server, and with a RP group, I guess I would RP Walk at times to signify a measure of casualness, or perhaps seriousness, or lend gravity to a situation. But I play on a regular server. And I never RP. So I don’t RP Walk. But interesting question.
Why not? The points you laid out explain it pretty clearly. If you CAN finish a dungeon in 5 minutes why not? That’s 12 dungeons per hour (perfect queueing) and that’s a lot of gold and vendor trash. It’s gold farming.
The real question is why are trying to go slow and grief people? If the group can go fast, then you going slow is just making everyone else’s day worse. And if they don’t need your damage then follow and loot everything. Take advantage of others putting in the work.
Truth be told, those are probably bots though.
When you’re geared it’s incredibly hard to die in a dungeon at normal pace. Almost boring. So going fast presents a new challenge in staying alive, because now I have to survive all the trash in a wing all at once instead of 3ish pulls. You might actually die even fully geared.
Or is that not what you were saying? Because I agree with ya, I think
Would you please clarify. Which players are you referring to as bots, the speed-runners, or the players walking behind them picking up loot?
It’s a matter of pace and interest.
I, for one, notably for TW dungeons, etc. don’t “want to be there”. I am there solely for the shiny at the end, so I enjoyed the L11 TW twinks that were burning through instances.

I seen it before, Charlie.
I’ve smelled the roses. Pet the cats. Heard the RP. Again, and again, and again.
I’ve said this elsewhere. One of the best decisions I made this expansion was to get off the gear treadmill. I’ll take upgrades as they come, I’ll do low hanging fruit, but the best thing about not pursuing gear is that I don’t have to do stuff I don’t want to do. It’s OK to skip something, not get a chest, not get a currency, leave something on the table.
Because of that, I stay out of dungeons. I got pretty burned out of GOGOGO doing Remix (which was all GOGOGO on steroids). It was fun in its way, but too much of a “good thing”, and just not up for it this expansion.
But turns out that the gear the game hands me just running around and doing Stuff in the open world, is Good Enough. So, there’s no real drive to get better gear. To kill a pack of mobs in 9s instead of 10s.
I know full well, that I will be getting brand new shiny better than the best right now gear when the next big patch hits. And I’ll get it for just running around picking flowers and doing the VAST array of WQs and other stuff in the game, instead of mainlining instances over and over and over and over again.
And when you’re doing stuff over and over and over and over again, getting it over WITH, as fast as possible, becomes more interesting than the content itself, which is just in the way.
The character charging through punching everything without ever interacting with the group. Or not looting, because a bot is only really worried about getting it done as fast as possible and boss loot gets mailed to you if you don’t loot it so they also get the brunt of gold drops as well. Since bosses drop more gold then their trash combined more often than not.
Oh, ok. Thank you for your reply.
The faster I tank through a dungeon, the faster I level my tanks…
Not a hard concept to grasp.
Get in and get out.
Right, the faster a run finishes the faster the next one starts
Why do you want to go slow? If you want to just enjoy the scenery why aren’t you in a follower dungeon where you can go as slow as you want?
Think of the speed clears as a challenge. To this day I learn about new skips in Timewalking and leveling dungeons, like the fact that the center boss is optional in Dire Maul West now.
Came to post this
Probably the same point as coming to the forums just to post troll threads.
because my goal is to level quickly, hope this helps
Let’s put some things into perspective here.
First, dungeons do not take that long to clear, at all, even if you take one pack at a time. They’re almost all less than 15 minutes. Compare that to the olden days in vanilla/BC when a dungeon would often take a good 45 minutes to an hour or longer, and that’s IF you didn’t wipe. So this notion that you want to “speed” through a dungeon just to get through it quickly seems lame to me. They already take almost no time to get through.
Second, people act like the only two ways to pull are to pull half the dungeon right off the bat, or pull one pack at a time. There’s a happy medium. Pull a handful of packs, give dps a chance to aoe them down, and repeat. It’s plenty efficient without risking pulling more mobs than the tank or healer can manage. Which definitely is a Thing.
Third, Normal and Heroic dungeons are absurdly easy, and that’s why they’re not fun. That’s why people want to race through them. Tanks don’t even really need healers in dungeons if they’re even half-way geared. Make the dungeons harder instead of mindless speedwalking exercises. They can still be cleared fairly quickly but they should at least have some semblance of a challenge, some actual risk of a wipe if a tank and healer just mindlessly run through the dungeon.
I think that a common reason why so many tanks run and gun through dungeons is that we’ve been doing that for so long, than many tanks think that’s just how you tank. There’s not really any skill or thought given to how to manage mobs. And with today’s ez mode dungeons they’re not entirely wrong. But too often they aren’t holding aggro on all the mobs they pull, and they have zero situational awareness. Other times tanks pull a few packs and stop for a second. So the DPS thinks, Ok, I can AoE these down now, and the tank promptly takes off again, pulling mobs out of aoe or losing aggro, or both. It’s just bad tanking.
Thank you for listening to my WoW Talk.
What is telling about these geniuses, these speed runners is that they claim to do it so they can get to max level content faster. But, they don’t even realize that the game has them running on a rat treadmill. The faster they run, the faster they get to the same place. In an ever lasting loop.
Welcome to every live-service game? I play FOR the gameplay loop.
Well, Wow has gone from being an mmoRPG to Call of Duty or Fortnight.
For this sentence to make sense, you have to have never played WoW, CoD, or Fortnight.
Which (alive) MMORPG do you know that doesn’t have a loop at endgame?
