Speed-Run GO-GO-GO Players. What's The Point?

Or just solo it. Old dungeons are all available for solo, and that way you can take all the time you want. If you want company, invite a friend along, or put it in Group Finder. I’ve put legacy transmog runs in Group Finder before, with some raids where there’s a boss that’s tricky to solo. Someone always signs up.

I’m good I don’t have to and it doesn’t count for the mandatory minimum for tw quest

I really miss that.

Oh yeah, wasn’t thinking of you so much as @Targen
He’s the one who wanted to smell the roses.
And he doesn’t seem to mind if he runs them many times.
My suggestion for him is to hold his nose and get through the weekly zerg-fest, then go back and explore whichever dungeons he’s in the mood for - solo so he can take his time.

if the group agrees and one person doesn’t then its that person who is the child thats one reason you get vote kicked if the vote kick never pops up then no one cares enough

In the army the drill sergeants made us run for miles yelling at us all the way “Run faster! Run Faster!!!” When we got to where we were going then we waited around. So we ran like crazy just to then wait. And then start running again!
In civilian life. We gotta run in the morning to get to school or work, then at work the boss demands we speed things up! Hurry up finish our 30 minute lunch, Hurry up get back to work! The stress just keeps building up! Then hurry up get to the grocery store to buy provisions for dinner! Hurry up, make dinner. Hurry up and eat, its getting late. Then finally. Get an hour to play Wow before bed. Now it’s my time to relax and have a little fun. Enter a dungeon and we have to run! What? Are you kidding me!

I go both ways when it comes to WoW content. On my solo time, I goof around, enjoy old lore, explore stuff I never noticed before. When I get ready to do something challenging (or more often, when friends and guild mates whisper me to tank something, which is anytime I’m not ‘appear offline’ lol), I group with friends in discord where we can all agree on what we’re doing and how fast we’re doing it.

What I do not do, is queue for group of random strangers and expect them to all do things my way. Even as tank, I go in understanding this is group of random strangers and I try to facilitate experience that most of group seems to want. Which in TW, is speedy finish so they can go again.

Lol, yeah These speedy runners do remind me of the army runs. I can just hear the sergeants Yelling now; “Run!!! soldier! You better get your head outta your azz! You better move soldier! Run! Goddamit! Run! What the blazes are you doing! This isn’t a sunday walk in the park!!! What is your problem! Moron! Run faster! I SAID RUN!!!”

Eh, I think it’s because everyone wants to save time and accomplish the goal they have in that instance…. If it’s Leveling, heroics, mythics it’s all to accomplish a goal, gear, rating, challenge, Leveling, etc

What’s more most people don’t have as much time anymore specially if your a working adult… which is most people.

And you still can do this. The current design of the game does not preclude you from doing so. So literally both camps of players, and everyone in the middle, can have the experience they want.

Whereas if Blizzard prevents players who want to go fast from doing so, then only you and players who share your sentiment get to have the game they want. And being very blunt here, your sub is not more important than theirs. The answer is to find like-minded people to play with rather than expecting the game to impose your pace onto random strangers you encounter. Stop trying to control how everyone else plays the game to meet your whims.

Yup and you can’t make everyone use CC like the old days when tw is 100% trivial difficulty with no teeth.

You answered you’re own question before you asked it! Goo job.

I was asking because I did get the feeling that people just wanted to get the run over with as soon as possible. This appeared to be the answer, but there was also a suspicion that the players did not even want to participate in running these leveling dungeons anymore, almost to the point that they hated doing this content but felt forced to. But I was not sure if this was the case. Now that people have voiced their opinions on the matter. The next question would be:

What can Blizzard do to either improve/change these dungeons to make them more enjoyable so that people would want to run them? And would it be an idea to perhaps revamp these dungeons, do a complete overhaul so that they would be exiting and challenging again. Perhaps making it so that players want to run them again?

But here is something I have noticed reading the forums over time. It appears to me that
with most recent Wow expansions. Players also seem to resent the way these newer dungeons are made / configured. That as much as players hate to run the old dungeons they also seem to hate the newer dungeons too. Is this a problem with the way dungeons are designed now? What’s up with this overall dislike of Wow dungeons?

Make the bribe better for tank/healers extra badges and tiny bit of gold doesn’t cut it. Add valorstones on top of it for example. Make it worth doing

such a stupid response from someone who probably has issues running dungeons at normal pace as it is…Also posting on an alt makes you look even more ridiculous and kills any credibility you think you have

Because it’s no longer a role-playing game? It’s become a MMOG not a MMORPG. Sadly.

It’s still a rpg but it’s not the simple game it used to be game has to grow if you want that wow classic is your way to the past

I do think this is part of our conundrum. Personally, I like to enjoy leveling as its own content, something to do later in seasons to take a break from current content. If I already have 3 alts doing stuff in current expansion, it’s fun to have one doing older stuff I haven’t seen in long time, or maybe even discovering some old content I missed.

But most players seem to think of leveling as a chore to be finished as quickly as possible, and yet don’t want to spend $ for boost. These players will complain unless Blizz keeps leveling super fast mindless faceroll blur. So why does Blizz keep leveling as required at all? To sell boosts I guess. I don’t know how much they make from selling boosts, but enough to keep the leveling process a travesty that’s hard for anyone to truly enjoy.

I’d much rather they made leveling strictly optional by offering free boosts, but kept old content tuned about how it was when it first came out, and let us enjoy it for itself when we want something different to do, more like it was when I first started playing 15 years ago. Then they could maybe offer some sort of cosmetic perk for leveling your own vs using the boost, but players who don’t enjoy it could opt out.

I just had a tank that wanted to speed run, but I was faster and know how to heal so I raced ahead and pulled more for him. He stopped after I did that a few times.

Edit: With the goal being to get the objective over with as fast as possible, I feel like no one even enjoys the game. I’m in the same dungeon for the 4 billionth time, but I enjoy the class I’m playing and the mechanics of my abilities, I’m still having fun. If the fun is gone, maybe find a new game?
