I think STEM just leads to more economic value, but that doesn’t mean that it’s the only path to developing critical thinking skills. Just about every college course will involve some critical thinking and analysis, regardless of the major.

Mismanagement ruined the sequel trilogy, not “wokeness”. The fact that they had no cohesive plan for the trilogy and just let the directors run in whatever direction they wanted still boggles the mind.
Star Wars is far from destroyed, though. Mandalorian was great, and Kenobi is coming soon.

They do TV series better than movies if we’re being honest. Every TV series made for star wars is usually good while movies perform way worse quality wise.

STEM is more important, the knowledge taught there is directly needed for our advancement in technology.
We don’t have enough Computer Science graduates for example.
There is also different levels of critical thinking ability and analysis. Someone in liberal arts isn’t going to be as analytical as someone who took engineering.
We have many US Presidents who never completed college. Were they missing these “broad critical thinking skills” you speak of?
The fact is, most people either have intelligence or they don’t. Most of the time people with degrees are educated idiots but they want to validate the 100k they spent on school so they go for any low hanging fruit they can use to make themselves look superior.
When I was in the USAF, I knew an uneducated guy that ended up at NASA. How many people are in their positions today based solely on the degree they bought with daddy’s money and then get to lord themselves over a potential genius?
The education in this country is sold to the highest bidder and it’s the ones with the deepest pockets that get to be the boss.

Mostly true. Rogue One was fantastic and Solo was actually pretty good, it just suffered for coming out directly after Last Jedi and the &^*%storm that caused. Clone Wars definitely did a lot to make up for the prequel trilogy and make people feel better about it, so hopefully some new shows will make the sequel trilogy more palatable.
Liberal arts isn’t just painting and reading books. It’s also rhetorical and logical analysis.
It’s a 70ies movie thought to be a stand-alone title with an open door for a sequel… and he didn’t start out being perfect in all he does. The training montage showed this and how Obi-Wan had to rescue him. Rey was almost perfect from the beginning but they mellowed her out in the next movies.
Not really. There are several quotes and interviews where the executive producer of older Spielberg-classics wanted to push political agendas through.
The main movie series is destroyed for the moment, however. Currently they are in the talks to reset the sequel trilogy with a gimmick from the Rebels-show so that the timeline never happens. At least we have Ahsoka as a strong female lead done right.

I always wondered why all credit hours are created equal. It seems like they should be priced based on market demand.
Not to the level of Computer Science or Engineering that deals in the engineering cycle or algorithims for complex problems such as machine learning and AI.

Virtue-signaling, in its most basic sense means a person who is being very performative in their attempts to be “good”
I.E. a millionaire making a donation to charity, but being really flashy and making a huge announcement about it. It comes across as annoying because, like,if you’re such a good person, why are you telling/showing everyone?
However, the term has evolved in different circles.
In more Pick Up Artist circles, the term has come to mean a guy who is pretending to espouse feminist or progressive views falsely in order to attract women’s attention / sleep with them. (A lot of these guys also don’t understand that genuinely feminist dudes just, like, exist)
Definitions dont matter…dont get caught up in them…because the second the current definition doesnt suit /serve the agenda it’ll get changed.
For example…Im dark skinned enough that even black americans have assumed Im at least partially African.

But when one sides NEEDS me to be ‘non white’ then Im non white to them. Literally called me non white lmao.
But then when they need me to be white…then Im ‘Caucasian’ again…
They’ll just redefine anything at any point that best serves their current agenda today.
Tomorrow they might say the exact opposite…and Ive seen some of them do just that.

A lot of them attended college, but never graduated.
I never said it was a hard requirement. In fact, I remember saying I somewhat agree with you. I also said that education never ends. I’m sure there are some auto mechanics out there who keep learning about things outside of their profession.
But I think generally speaking, a college education is going to be more valuable over the long-term than a trade skill. But of course there will be some overlap and exceptions.
