And what’s happening to them? They’re getting sued.
They’re making changes.
Why? Cause women can speak up and do things about it.
Are you going to end sexism? Not a chance buddy. But you right now have the right and the tools to fight it. Other people aren’t so fking lucky.
Be grateful because you were fortunately born in a country where you CAN do that.

I make 135k a year and I only have an AA degree in technology with no student loan debt.
I actually semi-agree with you on the premise you don’t need college for everything. But you have to learn, always. Education doesn’t stop, ever.
There are plenty of college degrees that are still a good deal. It depends on the degree. You are oversimplifying it.
On the other hand, a plumber is probably less likely to understand what “statistically significant” means, as an example. A college educated person compared to someone who only ever went on to do a trade skill, will have a better foundation for navigating and understanding the issues of the world.
If this weren’t true, we wouldn’t have people buying up ivermectin in feed stores

“woke” is what you call somebody who cares about other people.
“anti-woke” means you still watch south park and you think saying racial slurs and making fun of women and trans people is hilarious.
“virtue signaling” is when somebody expresses any opinion you don’t agree with.
Woke just means alert to social injustice. But at some point in the last few years it’s become politically a liberal thing to be. Anti woke is just someone who is against anything a woke person has to say. Like playing devil’s advocate.
That’s why most people pursuing higher education aren’t going for a liberal arts major.
why do so many people think “liberal arts major = can only teach underwater basket weaving to people with pink hair”. plenty of the people i work with (finance) have degrees in english, sociology, etc.

The reason it gets a bad rap is because it’s super soft skill based. It doesn’t teach something that is more guaranteed to give you a return on your investment. It is great for career mobility though. I will admit.
And yours isn’t? I guess if people don’t see things your way its just “warped” then huh?

I have an English degree and now I work in publishing
Universities aren’t the end all be all, but the right seems to have swung all the way around to fetishizing trade school in the same way.
If it makes you feel better to think so, sure. You demonstrated with your first post that you weren’t worth my time.

Honestly think she means well, we both believe in the same thing but I’m looking at it from a humanist perspective and she’s seeing it from her own experience.

And yet here you are giving me your time replying to me.
Also wokism exists to cancel reality.
Then we agree as long as you consider learning a trade falls in the same realm of “getting an education”.
woke means you’re don’t believe in personal responsibility at all
No, I quite disagree with that. Making a living != being educated. A tradesman is educated on their trade and it ends there. A college educated person is going to have a much broader education. Even the one with the lib arts degree.
they love the idea that education is a product like any other that can be marketed (“get a degree in X and you get a job in Y!”) and trade schools have the bonus of being “anti-elitist” enough in an appropriate sense for them – stick it to those east coast stuffed shirts by learning to weld!
Some of the lower information supporters on the right feel that people who got degrees - which they dismiss as ‘worthless librul programming’ - essentially cheated their way into better jobs that loyal footsoldiers for the cause like them deserved. Which is exactly the way education and employment are handled in communist China.
And “SJW” used as a slur against people who are proud to be fighting for social justice by those who are opposed to justice and think it’s a bad thing.
Please tell me how the calculus and trig you learned while “training” to be a dental assistant have made you somehow smarter than an auto mechanic…
So weird by the way. Most trades make as much as a teacher lol.
where did they say “smarter”
Dental assistants attend programs at trade schools. They are not required to learn calculus or trig.
