Sons of Lothar Winter Veil reunion comic

Seems to me like neither do Alliance ones. I doubt anyone who has wanted to see the Sons of Lothar reunion ever expected someone from the Horde to be part of it but because everyone is buddy buddy now and cross faction play is becoming a bigger and bigger thing this is something we will have to expect more of.

In the same vein that Jaina(an Alliance character) had to be part of Exploring Azeroth Islands and Isle book even though its austensibly a Horde character focused story.

I liked Eitrigg there.
A former enemy that battled them in many different fronts. In the Second War and in the Fourth War.

Also Danath all friendly and etc, but his mount in Isle of Dorn he has Orc, troll and goblin heads on itā€¦

Just borderline?

Nice comic. Really appreciated seeing how other lore characters celebrated Winterā€™s Veil, rather than just the Sons of Lothar and guest actor Eitrigg. Even if they were just brief shots in a single panel, it was a nice addition.

It did feel weird that Eitrigg was there, but thinking about it, he might well be the last (lore character) veteran from the Second War in the Horde. Him being invited to join the others makes sense in that light, that whether they were enemies in the past or not, itā€™s a major event they all shared, for good or bad.

His inclusion wouldā€™ve felt a lot LESS jarring if there had been ANY other Second War Horde veterans to join him. I know Lorā€™themar and plenty of Blood Elves likely fit the category of Second War veterans as well, but they werenā€™t Horde at the time.

Too bad there wasnā€™t a Goblin lore character during WC2. I could see one of them having lived by cunning and cleverness to a nice long life. Bit of a shame Choā€™gall went the villain route, but itā€™s also a shame we donā€™t have playable Ogres yet. Small chance that Deathwing or Teron Gorefiend wouldā€™ve ever been anything other than antagonists (although I do still think a story where Teron Gorefiend joined the Forsaken could have been immensely interesting).

Thereā€™s also Elder Torntusk, one of the leaders of the Revantusk tribe.

True, but as heā€™s never done anything or been used in any way outside of being a leveling quest NPC, itā€™s hard to really consider him to be a, ā€˜Lore Character.ā€™

Granted, thatā€™s on me. To me, a, ā€˜Lore Character,ā€™ isnā€™t just a named character with a history in the setting, but also one which has shaped or participated in events in modern Warcraft (WoW). Beyond just handing out quests, I mean. Eitrigg is present and participating in various expansions. I donā€™t think Elder Torntusk ever leaves Revantusk Village.

It was a fine story, that had artwork, animation, and voice work. I appreciate that. I am a sucker for tangential content. I canā€™t always play the game, itā€™s nice to see some of the story in other forms of media. Thatā€™s just me - I know there are folks who think all lore should be in the game.

That aside, the treatment of the Horde as an incongruent guest of the Alliance continues.

At least this story really did a good job of exemplifying what Horde fans are talking about - the narrative is super Alliance biased, and this really drove that point.

It was best christmas comic since Overwatch one in 2016.

Who are the people Anduin and Jaina are with? Is that the Kulā€™tiran family Anduin was working for while in hiding?
I hope so because I really wanted to come back to that. Iā€™ve been very down on Anduinā€™s 5 year self-pity vacation but I did like that story quite a lot and it felt weird that Anduin just kind of left them.

That would be rather neat.

I also want to say, that despite token Eitrigg getting on my nerves, this comic really warmed my heart.
Even as a professional night elf hater I couldnā€™t help but feel touched by seeing Tyrande Malfurion and Shandris happily running around Amirdrassil together.

Iā€™ve always wanted a Sons of Lothar reunion, so this was a great Christmas present. Iā€™m curious if Blizzard would want to do other holiday stories. A Forsaken and Worgen themed Halloween seems perfect. Night Elves should feature the lunar new year and Blood Elves the solar new year, maybe a competition between the two for kicks. Orcā€™s, Iā€™m not sure, maybe the summer solstice?

You donā€™t celebrate a holiday with the guy who killed your people. Itā€™s absurd and treacherous.
Also, I still think itā€™s weird that some of them are sitting there in full plate armor.
Alleria is repeating her quotes from TWW for the fifth time. Itā€™s starting to get annoying.
Khadgar says the Kirin Tor have been disbanded. However, they still existed on the PTR after the quest line.

Itā€™s a bad comic full of errors.
Amateurish in every way.
Boooooooo!

Guess you should tell them that:

Donā€™t try this with Canadians though.

Did I somehow miss the part in which Etrigg knocked on Danathā€™s door, frozen, starving, and wounded?

That was never your criteria. Your criteria is that and I quote

Which I just proved is false and people have done it. So what makes it impossible for people who are no longer in war time to actually try to move on and change their mind and celebrate the holidays together?

Note the context.

Your example is an exception in an extreme situation, not the rule. Because this extreme situation does not exist here, it is an apples and oranges comparison that cannot be used to support the claim that the story is credible and well written.

Are you hearing your argument? If anything it means that less extreme situations would be more likely, not less likely to allow people to once again try to celebrate together! It has been 8 years since The Fourth War ended. Plenty of time for relationships to normalize. Hell my country and Japan had normalized relationship in 6 years time after WW2.
