Seems to me like neither do Alliance ones. I doubt anyone who has wanted to see the Sons of Lothar reunion ever expected someone from the Horde to be part of it but because everyone is buddy buddy now and cross faction play is becoming a bigger and bigger thing this is something we will have to expect more of.
In the same vein that Jaina(an Alliance character) had to be part of Exploring Azeroth Islands and Isle book even though its austensibly a Horde character focused story.
Nice comic. Really appreciated seeing how other lore characters celebrated Winterās Veil, rather than just the Sons of Lothar and guest actor Eitrigg. Even if they were just brief shots in a single panel, it was a nice addition.
It did feel weird that Eitrigg was there, but thinking about it, he might well be the last (lore character) veteran from the Second War in the Horde. Him being invited to join the others makes sense in that light, that whether they were enemies in the past or not, itās a major event they all shared, for good or bad.
His inclusion wouldāve felt a lot LESS jarring if there had been ANY other Second War Horde veterans to join him. I know Lorāthemar and plenty of Blood Elves likely fit the category of Second War veterans as well, but they werenāt Horde at the time.
Too bad there wasnāt a Goblin lore character during WC2. I could see one of them having lived by cunning and cleverness to a nice long life. Bit of a shame Choāgall went the villain route, but itās also a shame we donāt have playable Ogres yet. Small chance that Deathwing or Teron Gorefiend wouldāve ever been anything other than antagonists (although I do still think a story where Teron Gorefiend joined the Forsaken could have been immensely interesting).
True, but as heās never done anything or been used in any way outside of being a leveling quest NPC, itās hard to really consider him to be a, āLore Character.ā
Granted, thatās on me. To me, a, āLore Character,ā isnāt just a named character with a history in the setting, but also one which has shaped or participated in events in modern Warcraft (WoW). Beyond just handing out quests, I mean. Eitrigg is present and participating in various expansions. I donāt think Elder Torntusk ever leaves Revantusk Village.
It was a fine story, that had artwork, animation, and voice work. I appreciate that. I am a sucker for tangential content. I canāt always play the game, itās nice to see some of the story in other forms of media. Thatās just me - I know there are folks who think all lore should be in the game.
That aside, the treatment of the Horde as an incongruent guest of the Alliance continues.
At least this story really did a good job of exemplifying what Horde fans are talking about - the narrative is super Alliance biased, and this really drove that point.
Who are the people Anduin and Jaina are with? Is that the Kulātiran family Anduin was working for while in hiding?
I hope so because I really wanted to come back to that. Iāve been very down on Anduinās 5 year self-pity vacation but I did like that story quite a lot and it felt weird that Anduin just kind of left them.
I also want to say, that despite token Eitrigg getting on my nerves, this comic really warmed my heart.
Even as a professional night elf hater I couldnāt help but feel touched by seeing Tyrande Malfurion and Shandris happily running around Amirdrassil together.
Iāve always wanted a Sons of Lothar reunion, so this was a great Christmas present. Iām curious if Blizzard would want to do other holiday stories. A Forsaken and Worgen themed Halloween seems perfect. Night Elves should feature the lunar new year and Blood Elves the solar new year, maybe a competition between the two for kicks. Orcās, Iām not sure, maybe the summer solstice?
You donāt celebrate a holiday with the guy who killed your people. Itās absurd and treacherous.
Also, I still think itās weird that some of them are sitting there in full plate armor.
Alleria is repeating her quotes from TWW for the fifth time. Itās starting to get annoying.
Khadgar says the Kirin Tor have been disbanded. However, they still existed on the PTR after the quest line.
Itās a bad comic full of errors.
Amateurish in every way.
Boooooooo!
That was never your criteria. Your criteria is that and I quote
Which I just proved is false and people have done it. So what makes it impossible for people who are no longer in war time to actually try to move on and change their mind and celebrate the holidays together?
Your example is an exception in an extreme situation, not the rule. Because this extreme situation does not exist here, it is an apples and oranges comparison that cannot be used to support the claim that the story is credible and well written.
Are you hearing your argument? If anything it means that less extreme situations would be more likely, not less likely to allow people to once again try to celebrate together! It has been 8 years since The Fourth War ended. Plenty of time for relationships to normalize. Hell my country and Japan had normalized relationship in 6 years time after WW2.
