Sons of Lothar Winter Veil reunion comic

Alleria’s definitely in Stormwind at the start but as Allereon pointed out the place they’re eating seems to be a magical location accessed by those arcane keys. Both Alleria and Kurdran have one. Also in the panel when Alleria enters the room there’s a swirly portal effect in the doorway behind her. So the actual building could be anywhere.

It’s a cute side story and all, but a second lineup of five Alliance heroes and a token “good” orc is a bit eyeroll-inducing fresh off TWW’s levelling campaign. I guess parallel festivities are too much to ask for when an analogous gang doesn’t really exist.

This and the other panels were great though.

Honestly I think Etrigg’s inclusion makes this worse.

It’s the Sons of Lothar and one old Orc who far as I can tell had nothing to do with them. Beyond also qualifying for fantasy AARP.

Then it’s made even weirder by them reminding everyone that Danath called Etrigg a slur while actively trying to kill him in a World War. And they’re laughing it off like they got into a drunken brawl at a high school party. People died.

Ya know I’ll just say it I’m okay with the Alliance having Christmas. But in exchange I think it only fair that the Horde has Halloween.

They could do one with the Desolate Council where everyone gets entirely too drunk and depraved. Then Calia tries to lecture everyone on the true meaning of Christmas. And is promptly ignored to go back to the depravity.

I’m reminded of the D&D meme where the orc and adventurer fumble attack rolls until they’re married.

If only they hadn’t pointlessly killed Tirion we could’ve had an interspecies old man bromance that borders on the homoerotic. As all true friendships do.

Yeah, but then we wouldn’t have “The light will… AAAAAH! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!” to chuckle about.

Well I guess it was necessary. It’s not like they were going to kill off other characters to an establish the “All is Lost” moment.

Man, Genn.

What a funfilled family gathering you are having.

As much as I hate Calia I think it would be funny to see her help with that. Or maybe give the abomination a kiss on the cheek under a mistletoe.

It’s Christmas in the Plaguelands, that special time of year. We’ve trimmed the trees into festive wreaths hung with primal, mortal fear

Maybe Calia can raise him with Light Necromancy and present him as a Winter season Gift! :dracthyr_crylaugh:
OH can you imagine! Oh,oh… even better his son raises as an undead Worgen because X or Y reason and becomes the new loyal follower of Sylvanas when she returns! Ohhhhh the drama the chaos… (I should probably write this down for some juicy family drama conflict for undead, vampires and werewolf players who need a story theme for their play through). I don’t think blizz would do this unless they want to start a faction conflict.

Joking and teasing to the side, I saw that and it really got me feeling really sorry for him and his family.
It’s a fantasy story but this illustration was really realistic when it comes to festivities and the loss of a love one. Its was sad but beautiful. Really made that character more impactful to me going forward into the story if we see him. (IMO)

I’m also trying to figure out who’s eating with Jaina and Anduin.

And where Aggra’s neck muscles went.

They are just shown not really part of the story being told. You would think with all the player feedback. The last thing we would get is another alliance story.

Yup

Ya just give horde something else, don’t include a token character.

Isn’t that basically what happened with Tirion?

Ah, yes, glad it’s not just me. Blizzard clearly thinks there’s something worth pursuing in that general concept, considering the unlikely bonds between Thoras and Nazgrim and now Danath and Eitrigg.

I regret they killed off Nathanos.

I think it’d be funny if he was perfectly diplomatic and charming with Thalyssra but still relentlessly bullied Lor’Themar.

Ah Regent Lord. Your wedding was beautiful. It was nice of you to wear high heels so your leady need not bend down to kiss you”.

I love that they brought Jim Pirri back to do essentially his Nathanos voice again for Aelric. It’s not that he can’t do non-villain characters, but he’s so very good at it.

At what point would Nathanos even make sense to still be around?

I imagine if Nathanos had anything to say at Lorthemar’s wedding, ol’ Lorty would reply with:

“How is your… lady? Still chasing some bare chested creature from another plane, while you attend to us? Oh… she is otherwise occupied? Still too busy for your company….”

It was very cute, but would it kill them to tell two seperate stories? The Sons of Lothar reunion crashed by Etrigg is so weird. Five people with their statues in Stormwind and also Tirion Fordring’s pal.

Give Etrigg his own story. Also Alleria is borderline unbearable.

This is Blizzard we’re talking about. Horde stories no longer exist, so of course Eitrigg has to randomly show up at the Sons of Lothar reunion.
