Someone please give me a good reason

Warrior was actually what i played around with, had the same experience would miss parry, monster would crit me… Better health pot or ive just died to a creep 2 levels below me

Incidentally, I had a blast with that and I didn’t even have a lv60 toon at the time.

well considering that those i usually talk to want BFA/Wrath level balance. that is exactly what would happen. you can’t have hybrids doing the same damage as a class that has no utility and have those hybrids keep there utility. it just doesn’t make sense.
now if you want something like Hybrids doing 80% of the damage of a rogue, then that is fine.

i have admitted time and time again i would love to start with pre 1.12 talents and threat levels.

and i would be fine with that. but then the other thing you have to keep in mind is. how balanced should they be? because in my mind, you should basically want to run 5 of every class in a raid.

the problem i really have is with people like Akaidian and Ziryus who want hybrids to do equal dps to pures.

and yet i knew many enhancement shamans who raided. dang.

the other problem i have is with people like the OP who start with one thing and then move in a completely different direction. at the start of his thread he was talking about minor changes to hybrids to make them more viable (minor changes don’t work) and by the end he was talking about adding post vanilla content.

overpowered items are not a bad thing since they were 1) rare and 2) only usable in certain situations by certain classes. like skull of impending doom or cats head helm wouldn’t benefit my priest or mage. hehe

underpowered, overpowered, weird, unique, thats more realistic than where everybody has the same set, the end.

Im with this guy, though, maybe if you talk to people more calmly theyll be willing to look at your position with empathy :P.

I feel like ive played a bunch of MMOs, ARPGs (BFA), and Pen and Paper games and its obvious to a lot of us which game rules made classic engaging, and what was streamlining to handle dwindling or game mechanics that seem cool on paper (flying mounts) but end up removing the characters from the world (I.E. the DANGER). I feel like we can talk about rational changes to talent trees, new items, new dungeons, which would do NOTHING to the thematic experience other than potentially ADDING to it.

Think about new consumables, perhaps new item tiers after 3, these are things we should get excited here folks, screw TBC, keep us together, keep us interacting, keep us happy.

oh my skull of impending BS! Swifty has a video of him destroying people with it. Couldnt find link :frowning:

but i loved tbc’s zones, dungeons, new races, new professions, etc. loved the colorful settings, the other worldly feel, the raids.

okay but the problem i have rokthar is this
you started with light balance changes.
ignored it when people asked how much balance was needed, and skipped to adding post vanilla content when vanilla isn’t even out.

your entire discussion to begin with was how minor changes aren’t an issue, and you jump right too adding content after naxx. how is that minor?

i get apocs point and even agree with both of you that some changes are not neccesarily a bad thing, provided they are done in the spirit of vanilla.

the problem is that what do you frequently see? Ziryus asking for basically BFA set to level 60. Akaidian wanting Ret Paladins to have all the toolkit they currently have and the dps of a warrior. and that new guy today asking for flight, LFD, and post vanilla BGs.

can you see why we would be up in arms to defend the game we love?

This was brought up earlier by @Matcauthon. How many times have there been discussions of Non-Vanilla changes that were cordial and then the same requests kept coming up over and over?

Of course i started with one thing and moved on, im trying to expand your minds here, see how quickly we got over the hybrid thing? boom make them better with groups supporting with a tweak to talents, it gives the raid incentive to bring those specs along when you create utility that cant be overlooked. Have you guys played a videogames before? Think of a game like overwatch, mei might not top damage meters in a match (i do, brushes shoulder off) but her utility in the right hands is awesome. Just because blizzard went for the expansion model for retail, doesnt mean the rest of us have to suffer the same fate, eventually lose interest when the game stagnates because they cant change anything after the second year for fear of the subs bailing.

Blizz has already stated that they do not care how many play Classic™ in the long run. It’s a museum piece. They’re exact wording was tens of thousands of players or tens of players …

and that just proves our points though. why do we not like discussing anything? because you changers use anything as a gateway.

and we’re not over discussing hybrids. we’ve merely said we would be okay with discussing possible changes. also - all of a sudden hybrids are better. guess who loses out? pures. hybrids as is are already guaranteed 10 raid slots minimum just because of tanks and healers. give them too many more and the pendulum swings the other way to stacking hybrids instead of pures. the goal should always be a nice happy medium.

Why? Are you someone in charge at Blizzard with the authority to create WoW Classic as how you think it should be? Nah… didn’t think so. That’s the great thing about this place… is that it’s a forum of discussion. No one needs to change your mind on anything – that’s all up to you.

I feel like this stuff needs to be in discussion after release and content releases. For blizzard to go into a classic release with say balance fixed and a few tweaks to talent trees (all speculation, this would never happen) you would definitely lose the private server community who is pretty much the target market.

If blizzard sees a way to make a hundred million dollars in subs they are not going to turn it down. No matter what anyone wants to say they are a business and their business is making money.

Source? Link? Video?

and by the way. because of class balancing the rogue and warlock classes dropped all the way down to around 6.5% of the player base back in cata/mists/warlords.

so yes. you can imagine why we are aprehensive of balance changes.

Hey, Im sorry some people on here have burned you out. I think we can all agree that some minor changes are not a bad thing necessarily, I think figuring out whats acceptable in keeping in spirit with the core game. I only offer up post naxx ideas because eventually this game will stall out like the original, I dont want them to progress to flying crap and campaigns where people leave the original contents making it feel empty, we all want community here, not a game of mass exodus every two years, after naxx things WILL change, at this point it will either be expansion, or stagnation. Im saying it doesnt have to be that way!

Come with meeeee and youllll seeeee, a woooorld of puuuure imaginatiooooooon!

first of all, in two years only 23 guilds cleared naxx.
secondly. lets discuss that WHEN WE GET THERE. not when the game isn’t even out yet.

Are you explaining how a forum works? Are you some kind of moderator? Im talking about open long form discussion here, you didnt NEED to respond to this thread ether… you know that right? What a fantastic contribution to the dialogue.

Edit: My thread literally has please in the title, and youre acting as if its required to indulge me.
