Given Ions ability to be a force for destruction and chaos, the negativity is overly deserved…but DF so far is freaking awesome as a casual player.
So wait is ion secretly the joker who has turned his tendencies for violence into video game development?
I truly hope it ends up being that. Because so far im not seeing a lot of good for the casual group.
And I hope you are right. But stuff like this article just makes me think that it will still be the same group of chores in a different wrapper.
Here I come TRANSMOG RUNS!
You hit the nail on the head.
I don’t know what I will be doing outside of raid and m+. And funny enough, in almost a bit of self irony, I feel like this is akin to going on withdrawals. I wasn’t one to go too hard AP farming. Maybe something like top 100 on server when it was high pop (unlike late bfa to now). I ended up bfa with a 97 neck and 12 other characters with 84+ necks, so I guess?
But yeah I can see myself for DF doing what I did in WoD to fill the gap outside of current just to feel like doing something.
This will be the games 9th expansion.
It’s more of WoW.
How people get so up in arms over the various expansions when the core gameplay loop is basically always the same kinda baffles me.
I mean, if you’re cool with grouping and doing all the mechanics like the raid was current, then you could still clear mythic Ny’alotha. People have cleared it this expansion, myself included, so it can be done. But they really need to turn on a 1000x legacy modifier, forming groups will be unpleasant for all these old raids.
DF is really shaping up to be a cozy expansion.
I am very excited to relax and fish with my tuskarr friends.
We know, in advance, a couple of things about Dragonflight.
First, one does not come to the forums to hype the game; forum folk are way too jaded and combative.
Second, being asked to defend something, anything, is a losing cause; you can’t convert a non-believer.
Third, kind of like those diversity advocates here in the forums, the forums themselves only represent less that 1% of the population and yet say things like “everyone hates” with the ease of a corrupt politician.
Fourth, WoW is a great game and you are addicted. Addicted to the point where you spend your free time away from the game here in the forums talking about the game.
Fifth, if you could only join me on the porch with a passing-the-time aid and we could complain about all kinds of things like video games and dumb kids.
Expecting people to have a cloak is already asking the world.
I don’t know how blizz managed to pull it off but bfa and SL end bosses just seem mechanically impossible in terms of soloing. Not unless you break way more things than dps pumping can solve.
Oh for sure. Hey, it’s fine if you want to switch alts, but can you go ahead and do a 3 hour questline from three years ago? Otherwise, no you can’t switch alts.
Want four sets? That’s 12 hours of questing before you can start nzoth and not instantly die! Get to it!
Except its not, its not more of the same, wows exps stopped just being “More wow” post mist.
MoP was the turning point, to make the game about logging in and doing chores. If you look back at BC and wrath, the reason those are regarded as the best exptions is because all blizzard did was say “Ok we got this game…and this system of gearing…what if we just put bigger numbers on them, and gave you more of it to do?” and thats all people liked and wanted.
Then cata came and they did some weird stuff, then MoP came in and kinda reined it in, giving us more wow. Then post MoP its was nothing but, “Here grind this power up until we decide to take it from you.” and “Here do this mechanic until we decide to take it form you.” and they just kept going that. From classic to MoP character progression was just that, progression, every exp an level our characters were getting stronger and better, then post MoP each exp our characters did not get stronger with each exp, they just got less crappy.
Like right now go play wrath classic and you will see what im talking about. You will see how wrath was literally just more wow, no systems, no random grind this thing out to loose it next exp and be reissued with a new coat of paint it was just simply more wow.
BIG SAME
I’m ready. Tuskarr and centaurs and dragons, I’m an easy sell.
It won’t be SL.
Cuz we have Dragons we can play as. If you dont like Dragons then you dont like fantasy.
I actually like the Dragons, but I don’t like the Evokers…so when Dragons can only be Evokers it sort of ruins that for me
So I guess you will be leaving. Only question, will it be a Preach exit or a real exit?
As for me I don’t see any obvious problem with your list.
Yea true. But so many of us have been asking for dragons as a playable race for years. Evokers can never be any other race do to their gameplay.
But dragons can be other classes though.
