Some Problems With The Forums

Yes, because moderation here is soooo on top of things.

Screaming isn’t discussion. 12 year olds trolling isn’t discussion. Bots and advertisements aren’t discussion.

Again, I don’t know of any other MMORPG that allows you to post on every single forum. You need a sub for that, including in Old Republic.

You want to give feedback during a trial? Use the feedback tool in game. You have an issue during a trial? Ask in CS.

Your “problem” already has a solution.

I mean, I’d argue there’s more nuanced and interesting conversations on the WoW subreddit than here.

People are certainly much more measured, and it’s not the same five posts ad nauseum.

What’s the problem with letting people who bought the game and payed for a sub post after their sub expires? You don’t want to let just anyone post, I get that, but actual customers??

I see, so now we’re moving goalposts. They left and gave their feedback. You can’t just allow those people only. There’s no way to do that. It’s ALL people without a sub. Which leads to bots and advertisements and insane amounts of toxicity.

They aren’t customers anymore, are they?

Last time I visited the WoW subreddit i was immediately downvoted to hell just for criticizing the game. That doesn’t foster healthy discussion.

Sure thing, man.

  1. Moving goalposts? Someone else brought up spam and trolls and like a normal thinking person I agreed thats a problem and came up with the compromise of only allowing past subs is a solution. Thats not even what moving goalposts means. And why isnt that possible? Is there some kind of technical limitation thats too hard for Blizzards web devs to figure out? Lol

  2. Any past customer is a potential customer. Im proof of that.

To all you unsubs liking my posts, I see you <3

How do you plan to determine those who don’t have subs and whether they played before or not in Discourse? Do you know how the system works? Didn’t think so.

And you didn’t need to post on the forums to come back here. So your nonsensical argument is moot.

Im confused about what you’re talking about in both of your responses. Could you clarify what you mean?

Oh I get what you mean now. Well actually im subbed because im playing classic. This is my main on retail which has obviously not been played in a long while.

I think it’s up to me to say at the least “what’s wrong with this picture” when I see the post I flagged for explicitly detailing an individual’s self-harm is still up. I flagged that months ago.

It already prevents you from posting if you arent subbed. Your account history keeps track of all your transactions… its not rocket science.

You made a thread whining about the fact that you didnt get the action YOU wanted.
Again…its not up to you if action needs to be taken.
If you flagged it and nothing was done…they decided nothing needed to be done.
At that point further flagging on your part is abusing the flag feature and should be punished.

That could be, because they’re keeping track of it.

Don’t tell me you’re talking about the thread I made about mental wellness. As general a topic as that is you took the bait of all the trolls who wanted to demean it?

I’m sure they would have removed it because it could be triggering to others.

lol. dude, i have no clue what youre even going on about.
see my two previous posts.
And now you are wasting my time so thread muted.

Well, they didn’t. So… :dracthyr_shrug:

Edit to add: things I’ve asked about in CS that should be sanctioned don’t get sanctioned either.

The moderation on these forums is bad.

I gave you one reply. You were also the one who engaged, not me.

Seems counterproductive to keeping a clean and safe communication platform. At least in my eyes.

These are related. Flagged posts are not reviewed until they go hidden and are placed in the review queue. I think it takes about five separate flags for it to happen. Also, the “Other” option that allows you to input comments is disabled unfortunately.
