Solving the Premade "dilemma"!

The “incentive” would be they couldn’t queue into a pug bg, only one made for premades AND they could queue up all together in one queue without having to sync queue or use add ons to sync queue 5-man groups together.

I didn’t quit. Still here. 20 years in. Still leading.

Well, they still haven’t fixed the sync queue problem, have they? Like I said, that’s what would cause the ‘leaders’ to leave.

You don’t have to convince me that Arena Rating (and RBG) is an all together garbage system.

Before blizzard realized they might have an e-sport on their hands, they had the BG faction rep grind. As far as an MMORPG goes, that’s just better. The factions contextualize the BG, ground the content, reinforce the narrative and immerse the player. Pvp ranks and faction rep rewards is the way to go IMO. Give people a reason to do specific BGs. Tell faction conflict stories. Stop trying to be a MOBA.

Wow PvP was never going to be a successful esport.

The closest thing blizzard ever had to a successful esport game was overwatch. Overwatch for a long time was huge everyone and their mother was playing it and talking about it.

Until blizzard basically just left it for months to a year with no changes and introduced a hero in Brigitte that broke the game and created the most cringe boring comp ever that ruined competitive.

And then everyone just left for greener pastures like apex or cod warzone.

I had like 1600hrs in OW1 but when they released OW2 with the paid battle pass I stopped playing. I probably have like 3hrs in OW2, 'tis a shame because I really enjoyed the game. :woman_shrugging:

I agree. Sorry if that wasn’t clear. But it goes without saying that AWC is an E-sport… Just a fringe one. Like an Olympics E-sport. Like the curling of E-sports.

Yes twinking is for those who can’t cut it in max level PvP.

Idk if they can’t cut it by some kind of deficit. It’s more that they aren’t motivated to master the skills, or compete the same way and explorer type player is. (I mean serious twinks not just someone who got an awesome BoE in vanilla and decided to put a flame enchant on it to stomp the 20s for fun).

Even so, the explorer type competing at max level doesn’t get as upset when they lose. That was the challenge they were looking for. That doesn’t have the same appeal for the “killer” type player. The killer wants to troll people. He wants a gimmicky class with a gimmicky weapon and a gimmicky trinket to make someone question wether he hacked the game.

Toward the end of WOD, Blizz was trying to figure out how to run a Hydra Premades team against another 40-man premade at Blizz-Con. They didn’t want to spend the money to bring 80 players in or set up for 80 players, and they couldn’t figure out the tech needed to allow players to play remotely. Probably the latter tech now exists, but until they make 40-man queuing together a reality, the esport 40 vs. 40 can’t happen.

Premades are fun! Usually guildies, friends in discord. This should be encouraged!

Que synching and Que dodgers using addons …are cheaters and garbage players and should be banned for life! Thankfully players like Venruki are posting you tube videos of Que synchers cheating

It was due to having access to pvp gear the 2nd time around. The first time we didnt have any unless you crafted/bought the overpriced greens off the AH.

Comp stomp was not nerfed.

Relative to what?

Ah yes, farming randoms should be encouraged. Literally ruining the game.

MOBA and FPS

It can definitely be argued that AWC is a success, but it takes a back seat to the other two genres.

And there’s a reason that it’s kind of the only contender in that genre.

Yea, all relative. I think it’s been very successful considering. The unfortunate aspect is were it not for the PVE nature of the game, I don’t think the PVP as it’s designed would be possible. Would love to see it get a spin off of some type or, as you point out, more competition within the genre, but I doubt that will be possible.

At some point, someone was like “UGH! All these try hards in max level BGs with best in slot gear. Blizzard should just turn Gurubashi Arena into its own game mode and those guys can do that against each other.”

… And that was the first leg chopped out from under BGs. Every mode added just makes BGs worse by discouraging people from participating in them.

BGs are the only relevant instanced PvP game mode in the context of the world and your character’s place in it. They should have enjoyed their position as the Pinnacle of WoW pvp forever, but AWC seemed more marketable as a spectator sport.

Now they are downplaying the faction conflict so much that even the NPC giving you the BG quests is treating them like a waste of time, and the newest BG is two buddies bickering over who gets to bring back the most ore.

Never surprises me that every second post is about the Que synch dodgers and addons and cheating…blizz is like…”maybe we should give the people more vicious saddles!”

Punish those that are blatantly bypassing the 5 man restriction.

There’s only so many times they can say,

“Oh hey there gangs. I see we ended up in the same bg and team again for the 10th time tonight. What a coincidence!”

before it is obvious that their entire intent when queing is to bypass the 5 man limit.

Oh, they don’t even hide that they do it. That’s why i think it’s weird when they try to be like “how will blizzard know who to ban?”. The people blatantly doing it and bragging about it lol the people that have an above 90% win rate in every epic bg lol

Take a group of 5 geared PvPers with good composition and they will have 90% win rate without cheating.
