Solving the Premade "dilemma"!

What? I think you have the wrong person.

nope, i got the right person.

Que synch and Que dodging players using addons need life time bans! Every little scum bag who ques up with them needs life time ban!!

I’ve never played blood spec, only frost and a little unholy, but I don’t expect to change your mind on anything.

This is kind of a fried take. The bracket activity has continued to suffer largely because of premades. It’s almost unplayable at certain times a day. Removing them if anything will only help possibly bring people back to the bracket and also give Blizzard a reason to develop the bracket more. Right now quite honestly there is no reason if you were to look at the bracket.

It’s not though. Account wide stuff doesn’t help people avoid it honestly. Mosyt people play multiple toons, if anything having to do things multiple times drives people away. People avoid it because the bracket is awful. Should Blizzard have enforced the 5 man rule better? 100%. That is on them.

This is why the better solution is to mitigate the advantages premades have by giving better coordination tools to randoms baseline. The same way they have with dungeons.

And while I’m on that, how about they make a BG version like solo dungeons, that is the same as comp stomp so people can learn the objectives solo? You could make that a place where the first time you do the solo BG you get a piece of honor gear and then you HAVE to do Randoms to get honor to upgrade it. The reward can only be earned once per warband. Then make honor not shareable across warbands.

And fill out random BGs with AI driven characters in certain roles if they are lacking.

waste of time and money, randoms won’t use them. people seek out the tools they need because they reach a point where they learn they need them. randoms have had access to voice chat for years and still complain about premades in voice.

Come on you know the two aren’t comparable rofl.

People do use the new little beacons that can be dropped though. Expand on that. Make it easier. Make it more BG specific. If they could press a single button to spam INCOMING (location) that would be huge.

part of why addons work so well is that you add them one at a time at the rate you personally learn. if all this is given to someone up front its like drinking from a firehose.

Hence the “solo dungeon” equivalent for BGs.

Listen… If simply being able to communicate and make sure you have enough healers is a guaranteed win (and it pretty much is) then there is something wrong with the game. It’s not the premade.

is solo dungeons. we already had comp stomp ruined by people qqing about losing to bots. a solo version of pvp would just be dungeons, designed for you to win.

Yeah. It would be a chance to learn the objectives and the tools available to complete those objectives and you could only receive rewards once per specific BG.

we already had comp stomp ruined by people qqing about losing to bots

One out of ten groups in comp stomp complained about “losing”, and I didn’t lose a single match. No idea how the game mode was ruined by people you can just ignore, but it certainly wasn’t ruined for the majority of us

gran turismo does a really cool thing where they make you practice a specific corner or section of a track. scenarios where you have to spin a flag for 60 seconds or something would be neat, but people should have to win a BG to feel like they won a BG, no freebies.

the first few days it was initially out the bots were tuned much harder, it legit felt like this would be good practice for pvp but then they nerfed them and its been steamrolls ever since.

I don’t disagree. BGs have been my primary content for ages and I liked them just fine the way they were. But the fact remains that people don’t want to do them. Getting rid of the premades would make them practically unplayable and going up against a premade makes them practically unwinnable. There has to be something to make the content more accessible.

I noticed more of a steamroll the second time around. I don’t remember GY camping the bots at the entrance the first time I did it.

But I’m not entirely sure if that was due to nerfing the bots or people just being way more geared the second time around and more familiar with their rotations and hero talents.

At any rate, comp stomp is the only reason I got back into BGs. Being able to grab a full honor set without struggling was huge

Nah, most of them would just come back as solo players. Maybe not these ‘leaders’ from the forums—they’d probably quit if they had to play balanced games.

the content is already accessible, more so than PVE even, but there is no incentive to queue, new players feel rated rewards are too difficult to ever achieve within the season they want to acheive it and unrated offers nothing for most players.

and i will expand on that first part a bit as well, its easy for seasoned pvp veterans to look at this season’s rewards and make a decision on if they want to push 1800 or not, but for new players to pvp or pvers who just dip their toes in, 1800 might as well be 2800.

i personally think the seasonal rewards need to be put on an allpvp progress bar rather than be rating based. people don’t want to queue rated because its like a half limited toolkit spent on humping pillars to the beat of the meta drum, so even when there is a good enough carrot to motivate them into wanting to queue rated, it feels like such a chore that people stop the minute they get their goal and don’t come back until the next carrot. a better carrot or lower ratings goals isn’t going to drive more players to rated, but offering seasonal rewards for unrated will drive more players to pvp in general, and this will get more people into rated as new pvpers feel like flexing their egos.

more people queueing pvp means less ability to sync by premades, but also less of a need to.
