Solution to the consorship

Of course, the classic, one thing is to play a video game, another thing is to make the video game, yes of course …

But instead it seems that we are in their place adding censorship and turning a gray world, great there is nothing worse than a video game that we have to adapt to reality full of policies and restrictions that does not mean that we are not even saving away from reality to kill us.

It is really sad what you tell me, and I see that there is no solution but to tolerate supremasist ideas.

Maybe they should consider looking for another place of work if they do not like his work, the work environment has to be safe, yes, but if the work they have to do they do not like, them they may go elsewhere.

Life is not all fun, especially at work, if it were so, I would not pay for games to have fun, instead I would work more.

At the end of the day they are paid workers. In the particular case of Hazzikostas, he had the nerve to wash his hands about the state of the game in the “bad featback” given in the beta by the players, players who are paying users and not paid employees.

Why? Why is this always the ignorant take that people throw around.

It’s easy for us players to move to a different game if we don’t like it. We can just stop paying $15 a month and stop playing WoW. It’s not nearly as simple for someone in game dev to just pack up and move to a different company. Some of these people uprooted their entire lives to work for Blizzard because they love the games that the company has made, even if they don’t like the culture. To expect them to pack up everything and move, potentially to another state or even another country rather than fix the problems with the game is unreasonable.

Paid workers have the right to decide what happens at their workplace, and what themes are acceptable in the games they create.

That line is woefully out of context. He never claimed ‘bad feedback’ was given in the beta. What he stated, in respect to Torghast’s difficulty, is that the feedback they got wasn’t useful. They got plenty of useful feedback during the beta about Torghast. About the mechanics, about the anima powers, but the majority of that feedback were from players who sank hours and hours of their own time into Torghast, exploring every nook and cranny and trying to push as high as they could in the tower.

None of that feedback was from the view of your average player who wants to get into Torghast, get their soul ash for the week, and get out, because the vast majority of players who would have given that feedback didn’t get that far into testing. Blizzard only got the feedback from those players after Shadowlands went live, which resulted in the Torghast nerf that made it too easy for many people.

True, but you are not considering the possibility that I love Blizzard games as much as they do and that their decisions clash with my interests (and those of many others) as a player. You are also not considering that at the end of the day this is a business and if I stop paying 15$ it is one thing, but if hundreds of thousands stop doing it it is another, at the end of the day if too many people just leave (how is it happening) the business is at risk and we can ALL lose.

On the other hand, leaving sentimental issues aside, why should I worry about the well-being of people I don’t know? I fully support safe work environments, but these people’s personal lives, dreams, goals, families, and financial status at the end of the day are none of my business.

No, they do not have it, they have the right to have safe environments to carry out their work, and only decide on the game within the limits of their respective job positions and what is profitable for the business.

Well, to be a lawyer it seems that the speech turned out very badly then because I was not the only one offended by this, and even if it were the case it is still an insult because it implies that they who are payment workers do not test by themselves or through Companies specialize the content and depend on paying users to be able to do their job well despite the fact that they are the ones who charge for the work.

Then you should be supporting them and their desire to make better games. We can accept minor inconveniences like these. They don’t impact us significantly. And no, don’t tell me that you really cared about these things before they were changed, I don’t buy it at all. In fact I’d be willing to bet that 95% of folks who are outraged about this now, weren’t even thinking about these things until the changes were datamined, that’s how little they cared them.

There was no one sitting out there in the world, pre-datamined changes saying “Oooh boy, I sure love those low pixel paintings of women, oh and the Sons of Hodir faction? I loved all the sexual innuendos that the quest titles had.” there was no one saying: “Oh I can’t wait to get the Pink Love Rocket. I hope Blizzard never changes its name to something else.”

Anyone who says they seriously cared about any of these things that were changed, before the datamining was revealed is a liar.

Yes, they do. End of story. This is not a debatable point.

To be honest, most of the changes do not matter to me, some I even like them, but what annoys me (and yes, for many it is silly) is the change in the paintings, because I consider that they send the wrong message, there is nothing bad in the human body, therefore it should not be covered, the problem is not the body, it is how misplaced people look at them.

That of the Twin Consort is simply silly, technically those things are more constructs/robots than anything else, to claim that those bosses are women is to enter into a debate on life, and even if it were not the case, they were made or obtained and turned into consorts for the villain, villains are supposed to do bad things right? like enslaving, brainwashing, etc.

You are right, this is not a debate, you are simply wrong, so wrong that I wonder if you’ve ever worked under a chain of command.

Have you even taken a moment to consider that the abusers created those paintings, likely based on female employees at Blizzard? That’s the current theory as to why they were removed/altered.

The Twin Consorts name was changed for a very good reason. Read the description of the encounter, and it becomes obvious what that reason is. The Twin Consorts were ‘owned’ by the Thunder King, which heavily implied sexual servitude rather than willing partners, which is what a Consort usually is.

You are not part of the chain of command. You don’t have any authority there. You and others are inserting yourself into that command structure when you have no place in it. They get to decide, based on their workplace principles and their leadership structure what happens to this game. You aren’t a part of that and you never will be unless you become an employee.

You have some say as a subscriber, as one of the players of the game, as to the which direction this game goes. Some. But that doesn’t come with any authority. Your opinions and desires don’t get placed above those employees within the company who want change within the game.

“%t” states your target’s name. Just make your own /em macro and it’ll be like it never got removed.

They could have been changed for other portraits of different women so that the person involved in question does not feel affected, or directly be totally removed from the game instead of changing them for censored versions. That is assuming the theory is true.

In my opinion, replacing a woman’s painting with a fruit basket is potentially misogynistic

Yes and it is something that many cliché villains do, if you take away the evil actions from the villains that makes them villains? at the end of the day it would only be one more reason to kill him.

by the way, you must look at the meaning of consort in the dictionary.

Either my English is worse than I thought or your comprehension reading is terrible, because this is precisely what I was saying.

 right there, not all Devs have decision-making power, only a few, or so it should be unless some union intervention or agreement during the lawsuit has reached out to give a voice to a group that normally would not have it.

So are they giving us Wow 2.0 with all new code? Not 1 lne of code written by a sexist pig ?

See somewhere in their spaghetti code (close to 2 decades, mnay devs spaghetti happens so not a ding, thats life in a close to 20 year software maintenance cycle really) are key functions, algorithms these people made.

Are they pulling them too. Probably not. Paying a good algorithm programmer costs money. Money spent on redoing code that ain’t broken.

Uhh, no, it isn’t a thing that many cliché villains do. And the Thunder King has plenty of other evil acts under his belt. He can go without having sexual servants. Jeez, I will never understand people like you who think these things are okay and should remain as they are. It’s disgusting.

The forums make me want to hurl half the time. You don’t NEED sexual slavery for him to be a villain.

have you even seen the boss? They are made of STONE, you are seeing sex slaves where there are none because to begin with the history of the mogu implies that they reproduce with titanic technology, they have never seen “female” except for those 2 NPC/Boss and they are made of STONE. :man_facepalming:

So what if they are made of stone? Princess Theradras was, and she gave birth to the Centaur. You don’t know what you’re talking about.

Princess Theradras is an elemental, the other 2 are constructs/robots/titanic labors.

Anyway, it is not worth giving more lapses to the matter, believe what you want to believe, I have already explained my point of why it seems silly to me.

Generally mass murdering psycho’s show a tendency to not value life. So it almost means they will not respect women too much. Or men.

There have been villians who take advantage of men. Farcry 3, Buck his name iirc. He liked his dudes that I recall. The end game bad guy since Farcry 3 kind of sort of killed the villain we liked more mid game lol.

Or…for the villain you have in mind yes it can work. Sire D I’d have here.

Issue…do you want Sire reskinned, revoiced for the next 10 games. Lines change…its still Sire D. rehashed to infinity and beyond.

Sauve, not vulgar villiain 1,2,3,4,5,6…Gets old. See even Fallout mixes this up. Mutants, enclave, evil robots (tactics), enclave again, Caesers’ legion,
people making evil robots (institute). Robots (associated) and enclave already repeated.

But there is the always their side dish. the raiders. Chem using slavers, thugs and murderers with no regard for human life. When the evil robot story ain’t hitting…go mess with the raiders.

Well, given that anything becomes a crapshow soon after the discussion starts, it is no wonder why so many things are censored.

I’m not saying that no villains engage in that type of behaviour. There certainly are. I’ve played Far Cry 3, and I enjoyed killing Buck in that game for what he was doing. I’m just saying it’s not a ‘cliché’ because it doesn’t happen enough for it to be one.

Murder is a cliché.
Arson is a cliché.
Drug use/dealing is a cliché.

Keeping sexual servants? That’s not a cliché.

They were constructs made by Lei Shen to serve him. Ion said it himself.

https://web.archive.org/web/20170623023241/https://worldofwarcraft.com/en-us/news/8778639

Ion: Players may have noticed the complete absence of any female mogu in their exploration of the continent of Pandaria. Players who look closely at the models of these celestial twins will note that they seem quite literally carved out of stone. Indeed, these were specifically created by Lei Shen and empowered to serve and guard him, and they are a direct reflection of his will rather than any broader sense of mogu culture as a whole

And the fact that they were his consorts means that the relationship was forced.

If they were created there is no need for them to be forced, they can be programmed, you yourself have said they are constructs.

Also, look up the meaning of consort in the dictionary.
