This game has a serious problem. It’s not PVP related.
It is the huge lack of tanks, healers.
I feel like lower then respec cost would maintain some what the spirit of TBC. Yet allow Tanks and Healers to respec more.

I’d even settle for duel spec with a monthly cost to use. Say 500g a month for access to it.
There are few tanks and healers because people don’t want to tank or heal. Lowering respec cost isn’t going to change that to any significant degree

I would heal a lot more on my druid if I didn’t have to go into town and spend 50g every time.

Literally had a pally in my guild who usually tanks avoid a dungeon because he was “ret atm”

Takes like 20 minutes to fly back to stormwind or whatever, and costs like 50g. It just isn’t feasible to keep doing that, time wise and gold wise just to be able to do a dungeon in between quests. You’d spend all your spare time and gold doing it.

why do think that people, who dont want to tank or heal, would end up tanking and healing because of cheaper respec costs?

I know it’s unpopular but I really think people should be incentivised to tank for pugs more. Or tank more.
Quite often I see a LF tank for an instance I don’t really need anymore, or just didn’t feel like running at that time.
I am still in Shatt, just sitting around. Not doing anything but I really don’t feel like I want to tank a dungeon for 4 other internet strangers.
Now if there was something in it for me however….
I’m not a charity.

id be cool with no dual spec if they dropped the respec fee that much, but the main argument for dual spec is the convenience of not having to go back to your trainer to do it. its not terribly hard to make 100g to respec there and back, but it is annoying to have to go to a trainer instead of on the spot.
imo druid is the worst to quest or farm in resto. I’m willing to do it with my holy priest but it’s too painful on a druid. That’s why I’m going dps and not healing with my druid

I heal because it’s fun. I do it for dungeons I don’t need anymore for the fun of it and to help people get a chance to do the dungeon.

Leveling resto outside a dungeon is the worst.
I can heal dungeons as feral, but not for much longer, and it’s anxiety producing.
My point is that it isn’t always fun. I sometimes tank instances I don’t need for fun or to help people just cos… I feel like it too.
Surely you don’t heal every LF Healer group? There must be times you just don’t feel like it when there’s nothing for you?
My point is that incentives would help me decide to tank more when I don’t quite feel it would be fun for me to tank a particular instance at a particular time.
because of inflation, 50g is already like 10g back in the days of 2006-8 WoW. lol
