So twinks get clustered with reg players?

It’s fair given that BiS PvP gear is universally accessible. The situation isn’t as bad as it once was (as pointed out above) but there’s still enough of a gap that there’s a difference between a twink and a leveler who’s doing what’s reasonably possible to keep his gear relevant.

There’s also the issue of items broken since the scaling changes netting far more benefit than they should, which should be fixed ASAP.

It should not be a sanctuary, but it should not be one sided either. It should be exp on or exp off. One is leveling one is hard core. one is casual one is serious. 2 different play styles. That’s what people do not see or will not see. Like I said before its apples and oranges, they just do not blend together. Sure, turn the exp off on the battlegrounds, and you will have much slower ques similar or exactly like what you had when we had separate brackets. Levelers will just quest and do dungeons then. Twinks are a minority, I do not mind them though, I do understand. But why then was their cue time so long when we had split brackets? Because they had to fight other twinks and did not have casuals served up on a platter.

It’s strange, the variance in player opinions. I started leveling an Orc Warrior a few days back ( Kagr@Emerald Dream ) and hit lvl50 today. I don’t farm gear and I’ve done quite a few randoms over the last 2-3 days, I have enchanted BoAs ( which anyone can do… ) and 9 times out of 10 I’m top 2-3 damage while playing objectives. I’ve put pretty minimal effort - I think I spent about 15 minutes on my Enchanter gathering up mats - into making myself better than the average player and it shows. Maybe people need to go above the bare minimum? =/

My Warrior for reference.

I’d like to add here that separation from the beginning was setup for failure. Keep in mind this happened during a time where battlegroups still existed. So while there were plenty of players around, there were over 50+ brackets that needed to consolidate. If you weren’t on the right battlegroup or transferred to one that could get games, you were denied games.

Also there were several times where we had enough people in queue on both sides and yet the queue never popped. There was a notorious bug during patch 3.2.2 that literally killed the queues for the 60-69 bracket. With people unable to guarantee queues could pop no one wanted to pay the money for a transfer and put their bodies in queue.

So while I submit, there were asshats out there that wanted to twink to kill levelers that likely didn’t queue for xpoff, there were also severe issues that also contributed to slow queue times during separation.

this is true. I was on AOS back then and the ques took forever because of the battlegroup.

That’s a negative. People still queue’d up, there’s a small ( in comparison to the people not twinking ) population of people twinking. Throw in varying work times, time zones and battlegroups ( when they were a thing ) and you end up with queues that were on average ( @ 80 ) 30-60m.

What boggles your mind about enchants etc that are not meant for low levels on low level toons?

Interesting. The enchant on my Warrior that does the most ( Pretty much doubles my STR ) good was released in…vanilla.

Teach me more pls.

bullllllsshh iiii ttttt

Do that on my alli toons I am leveling through BGs…I get 3 - 4 shotted all the time.

I dont really care

You see shoulder enchants, leg enchants were not meant for level 1 on looms.

…so do 120’s, amirite?..

The only thing that’s been close to ‘3-4’ shotting me in randoms has been Destruction Warlocks, they’re pretty brutal at low levels too =/

I was surprised too. Coming back for BfA I levelled 5 toons from 90 (where I left off) to 120, and it was only in the 119 bracket of the 5th toon that I was like “damn that guy hit me really hard. He couldn’t possibly be…” So yes, Blizzard put twinks back in the kiddie pool again, but supposedly item scaling has fixed the issue.

As a twink now I will say item scaling has not fixed the issue. It has however levelled the field to some degree. The gap between a twink and a non-twink now compared to back in the day is less. Most players have heirlooms, which is a super easy way to have proper ilvl gear in several slots. You can even enchant those heirlooms and the enchants scale to your level. The hardest part then becomes getting non-heirloom slot gear. If you are strictly leveling through BGs you’ll only get gear for non-heirloom slots every once in a while; it’s not enough to remain relevant. You probably won’t enchant that gear. And then there’s the question of twink premades. You’re most likely going to lose versus a twink premade even if you have all the best gear. So there’s that.

I did see a 25% (rough estimate) being used in your other thread.
Interestingly enough during Legion via PVP Templates, BIS Twinks were sitting around the same (20+)%.
We can now customize our stats within PVP, but the hidden Template (Cap) is still very much in use.

Half the posts on this forum are about twinks, the other half is about lack of honor vendors.

What a dumb argument. You think people should spend tons of gold and farm the BIS gear up just so they can be competitive in a bracket they’ll be out leveling? The OBVIOUS difference is that at 120 thats endgame. You aren’t lvling anymore. The bracket you’re in is the bracket you’ll be in until the next xpac. The 111-119 bracket is a bracket you’ll be in for what, 12 or less hours? Being able to turn off XP actually goes against the idea of an MMORPG so your argument is bad there as well.

sounds like a non issue then since less then 12 hours you say is like nothing

I do most of my lvling through BGs. So you think I should just be fodder for these twinks for 12 hours? Now keep in mind this is just from 111-119 and arguably it will take longer just from doing BGs.
