it’s funny because varian died a heroic death (which the alliance complained about endlessly) but no one blue side seemed to blink an eye when voljin died to a trash mob.
When important Horde characters die like flies, I sleep.
When no name Alliance characters die, FOOOOOR THE ALLLIANCE!!!
It was fun riding on Anduin’s new ship! Weeeeeeee!!! What do you mean you alliance players didn’t get to ride on his new ship?
Hate to say it, but this is accurate.
Sylvie is a goner, but the Horde is functionally punished severely for these bouts of being Villain Batted. Our ever dwindling list of underpowered, underdeveloped, or underused heroes renders us in a REALLY tough spot within non-faction conflict Expansions. While the Alliance has lost Teldrassil (functionally, a Capital City that was only really used by NE RPers) … they remain absurdly strong on the Hero roster factor (and not just in numbers, but also development and just plain power).
Legion was a fairly competent story, but being a Horde player within it was genuinely depressing at times. Even if Blizz forced them to be Neutral, the reality that we followed around Alliance Leaders ONLY for nearly two years absolutely sucked; with the only payoff being us getting the Nightborne and Highmountain after the fact (with no way of knowing that was going to happen beforehand).
Honestly, the faction is growing increasingly more destitute on this all important front for relevance. The more of our Heroes and Leaders are killed due to these awful rounds of our faction suicidal picking a fight with a Faction Blizz continues to tell us we could never beat … the more likely every Horde player gets nothing to look forward to going forward but more rounds of Legion-Esk storytelling…
You’re ignoring every point I make with “The Alliance is having an entire expansion of overwhelming victory.”
Please, name where we gave the horde as resounding a defeat as the horde did at Teldrassil.
I’ll be waiting.
maybe a golden city, or a pyramid. At least a King.
No one in the alliance cares like a decaying city, a decaying empire and their idiot king!
We should do something to make the horde bleed, as Horde made the alliance bleed with Darnassus!
Please, name where we gave the horde as resounding a defeat as the horde did at Teldrassil.
Dazar’alor or Undercity. Choose one.
alliance during cata OMG I DON’T WANT TO FOLLOW A HORDE LEADER THIS IS NOT FAIR QQ
alliance during legion WHY IS HORDE COMPLAINING THESE NPCS ARE NEUTRAL
I don’t think the Night Elves were abandoned by the Alliance at all. It was all orchestrated by N’zoth and Sylvanas and the Horde and Alliance played right into it from the start. The Queen of Gilneas almost died evacuating refugees as Darnassus burned. They were never abanadoned by the Alliance. Elune on the other hand, is still a huge mystery.
Actually the only thing Alliance complained about then was the fact they thought Sylvanas left everyone to die.
Because those players didn’t play the Horde side and know that Varian told Sylvanas to run, she literally had no choice but to go. Gallywix and Lor’themar were going to die (I am certain it was them running from a demon’s weapon), Voljin was dead. (Which I do think is ridiculous how he died). To the Alliance side, to Genn, everyone just thought the Horde were just leaving Varian to die and had no idea of Voljin’s fate (That lasted an entire expansion and made Genn focus on Sylvanas without knowing she was the warchief now).
But pretty sure it wasn’t Varian’s heroic death they were complaining about. It was the misinformed about Sylvana’s actions. (One of the times I actually go to defend her, because she didn’t do anything wrong).
elune is legit the only “real” god in the wow universe and the nelves are her chosen people. i don’t even really play nelves (except my dh) and i was totally floored she did NOTHING.
Horde Vol’dun quest: Missing Business. We are asked to rescue Sable Polecats.
“Just a tiny bit of our sand stinger recipe got Coda right up, though! Take some with you, and keep an eye out for other little ones out there.”
We rescue seven Polecats, and are rewarded with Poda.
Alliance Tiragarde Sound Quest: The Stoat Hunt. We are asked to dig Faintstep Stoats from their burrow and kill them.
"One of the greatest hunting sports amongst the nobles of Boralus is the stoat hunt. It is a sport of determination, patience, and skill. Do you think you can rise to the challenge?
Stoats are agile, sneaky, and sharp. They’re next to impossible to catch out in the forest, so the best way to find one is to find its burrow and scare it out.
Find their burrows and bring back their pelts. Their fur is soft and much loved amongst the nobles."
We have to terrify and kill countless non-aggressive Stoats because the drop-rate for the quest item was so bad.
Do you REALLY think Blizzard writes the Alliance as the ‘Good Guys’ ?
this is what happens when you only play one faction. i for one knew what happened for real because even though my main is alliance a lot of my alts are horde. so i’ve done both.
ya that was pretty messed up. I think Elune is the progenitor of Light and Shadow. Or very deeply connected to both Light and Shadow. The moon is only seen by Light reflecting off it, and the Shadow of the moon as it wanes and waxes and eclipses…
Exactly, that annoyed me all of Legion, I pretty much kept telling every Alliance player that it wasn’t something that she chose to do. Varian died an heroic death, and the Horde were literally about to get trampled.
No one in the alliance cares like a decaying city, a decaying empire and their idiot king!
If I change alliance to Horde, and king to Priestess this is a fair comparison to Teldrassil. Maybe the city itself wasn’t old and decaying, but the NE civilization (10k+ years old) certainly is decaying, and their idiot Priestess leader who did nothing to save her people because the MIGHTY ARCHDRUID Malfurion couldn’t save himself this one time.

Kadghar is the leader of the Kirin Tor (an Alliance Organization). Illidan has enormously strong ties to the NE leadership, even if his relations with them are testy. Magni is the prior king of IF, and his daughter and brother still lead that Alliance Kingdom. Velen is the leader of the Dreanei. Tyrande and Malf are literally the leaders of the NEs. The ONLY positive representation the Horde has in the entirety of Legion (not just story leadership, REPRESENTATION IN GENERAL) is Liadrin in Suramar. That’s it.
Screw this false equivalency nonsense. Thrall was never as oppressive against the Alliance in Cata, as the Alliance roster was against the Horde in Legion. And guess what … our SUPER Shaman appears to have been depowered quite a bit by the looks of things. He’s not likely to be about to balance out the absurd Power-Imbalance between the two factions (where the Alliance leaders are truly operating in an entirely different Genre than the Horde in many ways atm).
Daz is a new city with no history or meaning. We only survived Undercity with THREE deus ex machina. Hardly a moment of pride.
FYI if you actually think Teldrassil only has NE RPers get out of this thread now.
There were plenty of Night Elves that would have died. Just because you don’t see them all, doesn’t mean there wouldn’t have been hundreds, it’s a huge tree. It probably also had tourists of the other races, on top of that Worgen refugees and Draenei passing through to get to Stormwind or back to Exodar. In lore or cannonically, there would have been way more then “a couple of NE Rpers”
but Darnassus was already part of the Alliance and Zandalar had no weight as a member of Horde!
Because it was not!
I’d rather damage the horde’s territory!
But even when we have the chance to do so, it’s Sylvanas who destroys the city itself!
