Fixed it
Well he isnāt wrong. As a NE I am fine with a cease fire while we deal with the greater threat of an old god. But I am not fine with just ending the conflict and pretending everyone is cool once again between the two factions.
Blizzard is going to have to jump thru some hops to end this conflict without pissing off a large percentage of their player base, one way or the other.
lots of horde on the forums thought it was bs how he died. you legit donāt remember that? 0.o
Nailed it!
And here I thought it was just me that thought of all this in the 10 seconds it took me to actually think of all that. Conveniently, I didnāt need to type all that stuff out.
Semper Fi!
I canāt even bring myself to complete the ally side of the story. ā¦
That was a raid based on Horde content. Alliance were just thrown in there since they couldnāt really make a raid for only 1 faction. If you have a horde toon, watch the ending cut scene of SoO and compare it to the Alliance one. The Alliance one was a joke. The Alliance basically helped the horde for their story since they are the focus of WoW and Alliance are throw ins. Why didnāt the Alliance take advantage of this and just let them fight it out and then the Alliance jump in right after?
I remember
Alliance player: noooo the heck!? Varian is dead bring him back
Horde: shut up. He died all cool and awesome and voljin just got killed by random demon #117690
Every time.
Chances are, like with ALL topics here, some alliance felt bad about both or just voljin, or some horde felt bad about both or just varian. Its not a one sided thing.
we must have been in different threads because i was on a horde character, talking to OTHER horde people, talking about it and how it was not cool how he died.
And I was on this same character saying āyeah sucks voljin died sorry horde, but at least we have heard rumors he isnt really goneā.
They both had to die for the stupid BfA story to actually happen, but the fact that they even came up with BfA at all and its story is the root of stupid to begin with. Especially now that both sides are starting down the path of mending fences again.
They have insisted since BfA was announced that theyre going to shock people and there will be twists that no one saw coming, but what has happened that players havent already guessed? How far are we into this expansion already?
thereās nothing short of sylvie becoming lightforged and leading the high elves into the horde that could shock people at this point. >_>
I mean players already pondered her being turned lightforged or something to do with caelia and being forced to deal with all of the things she has done before BfA was launched so that one was already covered.
Varian was probably one of the three good humans. His death was a grand one that anyone would wish for. Doesnāt change the fact that poor Volājin got wiped at trash.
Thatsā¦ your opinion. I dont look at how Varian died as some awesome death scene. I was just very sad. I saw voljin sitting on the throne fading away and was kind of bummed out (I mean its not like he has been warchief since vanilla so yeah it was less of a blow for me).
If volin had taken varians place and given everyone a chance to escape then he wouldnt have been able to go back to Org and name sluveenus as warchief.
how would you have rather he died, then? he got a heroes death. much better than what vojin had happen. theyāre not even remotely comparable. though i always see alliance (including you right now) downplay what happened with voljin as how it was somehow less messed up than what happened to varian.
I agree, it was disappointing seeing such a cool guy bite the dust. However, heroic deaths like his are what keep a story interesting when used sparingly. You probably didnāt see it coming. Itās when itās over used such as in the hordeās case that it stops being interesting.
I know. You can sack our capitā¦wait that already haopened
Wait. I got it
You can kill our war chā¦ Dammit
puts on thinking cap
Eureka
Raid our current base oā¦ Man this is harder than I thought.
One last shot.
Focus intently. Look deep inside for a great counter punch
Oh oh oh. This will be the kill shot of redemption
How about killing a troll kā¦
I give up. I canāt think of any Alliance victories.
Yeah flying a huge damn boat in there, destroying brill. None of that would have happened if you guys didnāt try and invade our city.
I would have rather he not died at all. I would have rather had him be the focal point for the opposition to the roadkill queen and him getting a chance to fufill the promise he made when voljin was named warchief. I think it would have made a much more bitter and harsh war where maybe the alliance was depicted as getting their hands dirty outside of malf and tyranduh when it comes to Horde vs Alliance. It would have felt right.
I already said they both sucked for dying. I didnt downplay voljins death, I just said I was less invested because varian had been the one king for the alliance for WoW. This is the first time we have ever had a leader switchup.
If thrall had been the one poisoned and dead then that would have probably stirred a bit more emotion because he is a central character that has been in the forefront since I can remember. Thats just my opinion though.
horde wouldāve rather voljin didnāt die as well. but thatās how the characters were written. itās pointless to say youād rather they not die. they did. you seemed to have an issue with HOW that happened. so iāll ask againā¦ how would you have rather he died if not the heroic death that he got?
Iām not quite sure why weāre doing the āputting our differences aside and work togetherā thing. If we compare Aszhara vs. Sylvanasās kill counts within the past decade, the greater threat to the Alliance is clear.
