So rewatching old wow cutscenes:

This is such a massive cope. Nobody’s banning you for having a negative opinion of the expansion. There’s something you’re hiding

alot of it comes down to how its presented. Old wow was kinda hammy and cartoony but also had flashes of epic stuff happening. Df generally feels very…lacking on all fronts. The voice acting is meh in most areas, the actual plot seems lost because i still cannot tell ya why the primalists are bad, or why they think the titans are bad beyond: cuz we hate them, and frankly, nothing really happens of note in df. We went in to uh, restore the oathstones, and then we did but like, some baddragons showed up and they made an entrance to an underground zone, one became a diet deathwing, another did a thing we’ll see later, and another turned good immediately. Also all the dragons realized family good, not liking family bad. Gameplay wise from what i’ve done in m+ dragonflights been great but story wise yeah its uh…meh at best. Df is like going to see a new jurassic park movie and every time the dinosaurs try to do something cool they decide to just wander off for reasons.

Trying to sort out what my “own advice” is here in this context I mean I know moon guard people sometimes go off the cuff with random things but never said I hate the game, never said I don’t play the game, did say the game is quite child like and silly but never said I hated it - I just reflect on the past knowing it WAS better, not perfect, but better.

So I have no idea what your on about.

Blah blah blah “MoOn GuArD”. Okay dude. Come up with an original clap. This is a 15 year old stale “insult”.

It should be dead obvious that I’m telling you to go pick flowers like the person you’re disagreeing with.

/strokes chin. Again I have no idea who I disagreed with in this thread, I haven’t gone against a single person outside posting my own views, thoughts and videos down my memory trip lane.

so again I know you say its stale but i have NO idea what you are on about still, outside of you coming 'at me" and me returning the favor nothing as been 'disagreeing" with anyone.

/thumbs up. Either way ignored gg have fun.

Back on topic, Not an ingame video but watching this does stroke at the heart strings because its pretty much true.

where did everyone gooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

Except it isn’t. Carbot was just another person riding on the “It is Blizzard related? Hate on it! I get more followers that way!” at the time when this was made. He never stopped making animations about other Blizzard games since this, but they all of suddenly had this overtly negative tone for no other reason than “I can get views this way”.

I’m gonna let you in on a secret right here:
Blizzard as a company hasn’t changed in any real sense since TBC. Yes, Wrath of the Lich King was by and large made by the same developers who stuck with the company since at least Wrath, to Shadowlands.

Yes of course there were layoffs and folks who quit and so on. But the core of the development team, the ones who get all the publicity because they are names people recognise, exceedingly few of them quit during that time. Folks only really started to leave the company around and after Legion.

All of the things that folks have been saying “Oh how could Blizzard change this much” and “Oh woe now our current time and developers of today, they were so much better yesteryears ago”: they were the same people. You couldn’t make a single good argument, so you resorted to “Hey look, a guy who is talented but makes money from purposefully being obtuse in order to make jokes” as your post here.

Seriously, get off of the internet. Pick up a hobby like knitting or painting. Trolling on forums ain’t a real hobby.

The difference in a LOT of past cutscenes vs. the new ones is stark and to be honest it points out Blizzards direction as a company and it’s writing and why folks look at the game as so bleh story wise. You look at what happened (in this particular case) with Illidan and how it’s handled and almost nothing is wasted, all the exposition occurs while the characters act in a very realistic and reactionary way and all of the music and everything works as it comes together going from beginning to end.

Then you look at the new cinematics and it’s like they had a few new employee’s and a couple of interns put together a very VERY static cinematic that had the potential to be what the first cinematic is as the music plays through and things happen but (as i said in another thread) the “action” is so incredibly slow and NOT DYNAMIC that a full 60 seconds go by from when Alexstrazsa is first hit and Fyrakk actually swings his sword to try to actually hit her while he speaks is level best twisted mustache exposition and she finally says “i’m not alone” and everything comes to a stop while these characters all warp in and then do their best storm trooper impersonation and can’t hit the standing still Fyrakk. It just all falls flat even though you can see what they were going for.

Another thread touched on all this but they used this cinematic:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ytu6J_U5E9g

And you can see all of the same things, the combat happens and all of the exposition and there is action going on all at the same time and it doesn’t need to come to a stand still for the conversation to take place like in a children’s movie or tv show, it all flows and works seamlessly.

Dragonflight has excellent gameplay, but Legion set the standard for story telling.

Legion set the standard for having a bunch of exciting things happening at once but that cutscene isn’t even that great; the Dragonflight one is unironically better, because it has better music and more interesting shots.

The only good thing about the Legion cutscene here is that Illidan is hot and I like that he destroys a symbol that is associated with holy priests (a healing spec that is based on a certain oppressive IRL religion). Aside from that it’s a totally boring cutscene

So the sum of your post is that, yet here you are replying to me when you can

Pick up a hobby like knitting or painting

You didn’t have to stop by and say a word, but you did and some how you are the hero in your own mind because you think your post is edgy and cool or something?

But hey welcome to the thread your quite cool.

so so we are not going to count in 2013 when ghost crawler left or 2016 when Chris Metzen left you are right it mostly stood the same indeed.

Legion was my first expansion and the last I loved.

The second goofiest race said it best:
“Why do we fight? To protect Home, and Family.”

i say it was a great expansion. alexstrasza is much cuter than jaina.

If I had to currently Rank wow and all its Expansions it would be:

WoW: Sorry nothing beats the start of a story

Legion - Pretty much was perfect and would be number one but again, the journey started at the original.

MOP - mop just ended way to strong to ignore

WOTLK - brought us arthas: goofy moments and all but closed the WC3 chapter alot of us grew up on.

I am going to get hate for this one:

WOD - I…didn’t hate it I kinda thought it was ok >.> Better then it gets credit for I feel.

Dragon flight - its ok I guess, its fun to play I’ll give it that but from a story side its not good but from logging in and enjoying my self, sure its cool.

TBC - TBC felt a bit aimless like we had no real reason to be there other then: look loot! Nothing we did there really…affected anything?

BFA - I mean, it was BFA it was by no means good but we got through it.

Cata - oof how to drop the ball, this was way to “green jebus” mode forced down out throats for sure. But again never really hated any of the wow Exps well expect the last one.

shadowlands: This never happened, this was a fever dream set upon us by an old god I just know it! Worst Exp ever.

I literally posted 2 videos, a video from Warcraft 3 Frozen Throne and the new end raid cutscene and asked “How did we get from this to this?”

The mob on these forums flagged it, and the mods deemed it as trolling. I have the e-mails if you guys need evidence. My post got a ton of likes too, but apparently it was trolling because linking videos from Warcraft 3 was deemed a “different” game.

These forums are terrible for trying to voice any kind of criticism.
