I detect an incoming nerf to the listed items.
Like making them all share a one-hour cooldown or something ridiculous like that.
port to Stonard.
Imagine spending countless hours of work on a variety of unique and beautiful towns only to herd people like alpacas into the most dookhole “city” in game
Yeah but I’m a paladin i don’t want to give those magic using degenerates my gold. Only via mage portal i believe.
All this portal removing does is add to their time played metric.
If it takes a person longer to get from point A to point B , it means they’ve played longer.
Nothing about this game is no longer about doing what we enjoy but about showing inflated numbers to the investors.
I like your positivism and constructive mindset. Thanks Katava
Does time /played matter though? I would think they only care about the $15/mo. Honestly curious, not trying to be sarcastic or anything.
Lets look at people farming midnight,
Lets assume a person is doing that on 10 toons a week.
right now we can tele to new dal and then port to kara and farm. 1 or 2 mins for loading and then bam straight to doing what we want to do.
Post 8.1.5 people will have to port to SW and fly for alliance and horde I don’t even know yet. Lets assume that’s around 10 mins for the extra loading and then flying per toon. So 100 extra minutes per week JUST to get to do the thing we want to do.
Yeh no thanks, the 1% drop was frustrating enough. This kind of s#!t makes people just not bother playing anymore.
Rather than blizzard using their team to fix one of the HUNDRED blazing issues with BFA they used it to break something that no one was complaining about. And the ones who were, are getting vanilla anyway.
Good job blizzard, another stupid, pointless, fun detected fun-absolutely -devastatingly- nothing was spared -obliterated- nerfed.
It does when I have a full time job, house to clean, real life to lead and wow is my fun free time. All the extra minutes just to get to the content I want to do is just a stupid stupid move.
For Karazahn I’ve come up with the following. Just tested on PTR!!!
If you are Horde - Orgrimmar > Dark Portal > 47 second flight to Karazahn.
If you are Alliance - Stormwind > Dark Portal > 56 Second flight To Karazahn.
I was a little bit slower on the alliance character, for some reason my loading screen was longer on alliance. Just hardware issue. \
So that is way less than what you are coming up with Missunknown.
Yeah it does and it is part of the $15/month.
Before the $15/month was look at how many people are subbed not it is look at how many people we can dangle this carrot in front of and look how often they are re subbing or buying game time . (Guilty as charged )
Ever since they stopped showing sub numbers in Warlords every thing has been geared towards a gated time played metric.
Examples would be Pathfinder for flying , azerite farming to improve gear , and rep grinding to play new races .
Yo dawg, I heard you liked portals! So I got rid of them.
“By all that is Holy, the Light may forsake you.”
Magic may be ‘heresy’ but ‘Miracles’ aren’t much further from it, are they? Mull on that.
Just re-tested this on Horde in a more realistic manner. I started on a 120 orc rogue in Zandalar. I used the guild cloak to teleport to Orgrimmar, then after a loading screen I was already in the portal room. Talk to the orc NPC by the shattrath portal and he will take you to the Blasted Lands outside the Dark Portal. That took 23 seconds on the timer.
23+47 = 70, so 1 minute 10 seconds to get from Zandalar to Karazahn if you have the guild cloak. It’s cheap and you just buy it from the guild vendor. There is an achievement to get the cloak but it is easy enough.
It is rougly 1 min 30 seconds to get to Karazahn. 2 min 30 seconds to get to Caverns of Time. That just leaves the Shrine of Seven Stars / Two moons problem.
I can’t find a fast way to travel around Pandaria to be honest. The only ways so far I can think of is the trinket that lets you teleport to the Timeless isle, and the portal in Orgrimmar that takes you to the Jade Forest. There is also the engineering portal, but that takes you to a random zone in Pandaria so it is pretty much useless.
Oh yeah, at the timeless isle there is that underwater cave that teleports you to WoD but that is useless. I guess it could be a somewhat quick alternative to WoD if you had the Timeless Isle teleportation trinket.
So everyone should give up the crafting professions they have so they can get wormholes because the game maker can’t just leave something that is currently in the game alone?
Also, we now have to carry all kinds of items in our bags because the game maker can’t just leave something that is currently in the game alone? How about if the game maker increase our backpack by 18 slots so we can carry around all this stuff?
No, you shouldn’t give up your profession for wormholes because you can get to the locations without the wormholes. The wormholes only save you about 1 minute of travel in 8.1.5. It’s just a bonus for being an Engineer. Also the wormholes are toys, so they don’t go into your bags.
WHAT?!?
Didnt you say you farm or something? Maybe that was someone else.
Clearly you dont or youd never have ever asked such a ridiculous question.
Farm throne of thunder some time and try to bring it all back with only 56 slots open. Aint happening.
Now multiply that by about 20 and maybe it’ll sink in why FARMERS like myself dont like having my travel modes screwed with.
It took me 2 minutes to port to Stormwind, then go to dark portal, then go to Kara.
It took me 30 sec to hearth do Legion Dal, run to kara portal and take that to Kara.
I don’t need to do Throne of Thunder some time because I already farmed it and have both mounts. I always leave the raid with my bags free because I get the vendor pet from the guild vendor and the vendor bots, you can buy them from engineers, however they are a bit time consuming to farm as you will need bars to make them
