Why in the world would he have known that?
You reply like everyone knows your background with the game, and he’s stupid for not recognizing who you are.

I think you’re underestimating “principles”. Especially when such a minor change, which is consistent with the other ability-carrying-mount, would completely negate the breach of principle/trust.
I think the argument is that the grind to get it was worth having a mount that was available across an account - like so many other things in this game that are account wide.
The requirement to now have to buy back what we’ve already earned is what’s rubbing people the wrong way - and rightfully so. They went out and earned something, only to have to have that cost increased in the future.
What if a bank increased the APR on your mortgage after you already weighed out the terms of what it would take to borrow the money and pay it back? “You don’t have to pay the extra money” - just relinquish full access of your home that you thought you’d have when you took the mortgage out in the first place, and only use 1 bedroom and half of the kitchen. If you want access to the other half of the kitchen, the remaining bedrooms, bathrooms, living and dining rooms - then pay us extra. It would suck.
That’s why this sucks.
We already have to be on guard for not getting screwed over by banks, politicians, rage-drivers, bad cops, etc. - it really sucks to have to add the game developers of your favorite game to that list.
I didnt ask for advice. I can do all of that now and have actual freedom. No one is even limited to the strider for water walking if they take pots, but this will end up where we actually dont have choices like that.
Its not my fault you didnt know about the consumables, by the way. Bardings and stirrups were in the game all of legion and gliders and water walking pots even longer than that.
You could solve your little “what about druids” problem with these items right now, by the way, but once theyre gone then you wont.
Many of us are losing that is not why we are mad…they are taking away something we worked for and earned…many of us Twice.
It’s strange that someone so entrenched in their opinion on this change didn’t know some basic features of the game before advocating for taking things from others. And I don’t believe you have only played a Druid.
It’s not freedom if you are taking away people’s choice to have slowfall or anti daze on their striders.
Well for one thing people are reporting on PTR that the equipment mount will break water walking if you take fall damage so that is the first nerf we are seeing to water walking.
I have 31 other toons at level 111 - I always wait until flying is available before I level up my alts in an expansion, so they’ve been sitting there since September, and won’t benefit from any of this new system. Does not mean I will not support people who will use this new system.
Ahahaha. They CAN have anti daze this very moment on ANY mount or form of travel if they grab a barding for probably less than 10g.
I had to grind out Exalted with Anglers to earn the right to buy the mount for waterwalking. While I do have a problem with Blizzard yanking my mount that both had waterwalking and was bouncy–taking less damage from falls, I greatly have a problem with ‘getting a discount’ to BUY THINGS I ALREADY BOUGHT. Do I get a refund of the thousands I paid for the mount? Not likely…
They could, now they will not need barding. Just like before if they wanted to walk on water they would have had to have a strider (or buy potions), and now any of their mounts can water walk without either of those things. Options. That’s freedom.
Huh? Are you referring to my reply to this guys assumption?
I am not the one ASSuming how often I play. He made the charge, without any knowledge of me and how often I play.
As a matter of fact, isn’t there a way to see how may hours I’ve played, versus how many hours he has? My bet is that I’ve played more hours than this nut’s even been walking. Lol.
/facepalm
If I have the parachute equipment and theres no barding anymore then how will I have anti daze, oh smartest one?
Some people don’t like change but this change is adding to the game not subtracting. People should be happy. Instead, we are hearing the voices of people who are offended that there will be more customization and choice in the game. Gotta keep up with the times, my friends.
Whoa man, chill out.
This is a video game in a make believe world. If you’re drawing comparisons to these real-life actual problems, you’re stretching this way too far. This isn’t a bank. This isn’t a mortgage. It’s 40 gold - with the option to attach to any mount in the game.
would completely negate the breach of principle/trust.
The what? Blizzard changes this game all the time, always has, always will. What are you implying here? That this is new?
We already have to be on guard for not getting screwed over by banks, politicians, rage-drivers, bad cops, etc. - it really sucks to have to add the game developers of your favorite game to that list.
These kinds of comparisons are why this community is so dreadful to speak to. Read this to a loved once who doesn’t play WoW, and see if they don’t spit out their drink. You sound insane.
Ok gramps, you’ve played WoW so much. Good for you. You win the non existent contest.
They aren’t removing the bardings?
So your one argument against leaving the strider as is, is that some player, somewhere, may want anti-daze on it - against all the players going to the trouble of posting their wish to have the strider exempted?
I guess you prefer dictatorship, where decisions are made for the top guy, to democracy, where the majority have a say.
Smartest one? Under the new system you will choose if you want the parachute or anti daze. That’s the way the game will work from here on out until or if another system comes along.
But…who cares? What’s the point?
The threads not about you, no one cares how much you play WOW.
He made a comment, get over it.
