Mages are still the best dps for single target and aoe fights in the game.
Mages still can arcane surge for 2.5+k
Mages still get a free profession with their ports and water
Mages still can solo entire dungeons and some raids.
But oh please, mages need buffs right?

Fire Mages are one of the Top Three which changes depending on what % of player you look at. Weird enough at high end its warriors. Trash Packs are trivial and I wouldnt care if I were last on damage for clearing trash via AoE.
This is a terrible ability that no sane person would have ever designed. Its awful to play and to play against and is only used as “Wah Mage OPPPP” fodder. I wish they’d remove it from the game.
Rogues get lock picking, Warlocks get summoning, its an RPG. Anyone can afk in a capital city and sell enchants, blacksmithing weaponchains/ weightstones, etc. It’s not fun gameplay for me and questing or farming is way more gold per hour.
Warlocks, Hunters, Paladins, Shamans, and probably more can do this, Hunters are actually better than mages at it in SoD. Check out Zeroji on Twitch, the guy is a GAMER.
No Fire is fine, Arcane is fine, Frost is the weakest spec in the game for the entire history of SoD, currently doing less damage than tanks and some healers.
Living Flame needed a nerf but this is a big nerf that ironically doesn’t effect Fire that much and is a big hit to Frost in PvP.
I knew immediately you were a blue parser and guess what … didn’t disappoint. LF makes up 15-20% of our damage in raids and 80% of our dmg in duels/wpvp. “Almost insignificant amount of total damage overall” - wutface ?
You could have 100 parse and only do about 5% more than a blue parser, you are fail.
Stop over-inflating your sad ego.
If one ability is doing 80% of your damage in PvP it needs to be nerfed immediately.
Nice try Mr. below average. Sorry you are not competitive in anything you do in life. A 100 parse for a War can be 1200-1400 dps while a blue parse is 400 dps … “5%” LOL (exact goes for any other class as well). This is a variance of 2-3x.
But keep being a copium blue parser thinking you deserve equal gear with people who are actually good at this game and thinking you have any idea about how to balance specs/spells.

That makes perfect sense, if I want Living Flame to move faster I just have to want it to, wow why didn’t I think of that!

Not sure what parses you’re looking at, but I have have 90% and up on every gnomer boss, other than the last one, since I’m the sole bomb killer in my raid. Good try though.
Testing it now, at max range when used, it runs out before it even hits the mob if the mob is just walking. if you use it as an opener and then aggro the mob, the mob outpaces it also for another 0 damage. you have to snare or root it now or wait till its punching you in the face inorder for any of its ticks to land
I would have preferred that the living flame cast come with a debuff on the initial target and be magic. You either get non-interactable damage with a short duration and the ability to run from it, or you get long duration and more power but it can be dispelled.
You shouldn’t get both.
The point of ice lance is to be used against frozen targets. It does triple damage, so 180 base damage. Which is quite respectable for an instant cast with no cooldown.
