So no physical authenticators after the 5th?

All of my WOW accounts are under the same battle.net account. Though I guess if I had more than 8 accounts, it could be a problem.

I guess I was wrong there Idk I just have my 1 account and 1 other one I used for a free trail back in the day before you could play for free until level 20 to see if I wanted to resub one time and haven’t touched since.

because activision hates poor people. I mean why else initailly disallow prepaid phone options to ‘discourage cheating’.

It’s not even poor people they hate people who live in area’s not near cities and famers etc. I’m not poor but the Cell Phone service sucks here so we just have a landline and a single cell phone for work purposes because that’s the only place it’s useful as a phone.

You and 3 other people maybe.

Not a single poor person plays wow. Broke maybe, but not poor.

if you have the money for a computer, the internet, $15 a month for a sub based game, expansions, ect. then you aren’t poor.

WoW is probably the most expensive game to play it’s one of the few you absolutely need a gaming PC to play and now they’re adding more bills for you to pay.

If you can’t afford a phone, in this day and age, then you probably shouldn’t be spending money on a sub based video game. I don’t care what you do with your money but any well-adjusted adult would agree with me.

If you read through the post you’d see it’s not about being able to afford it. We have 3 gaming PC’s here and several other devices. I’m being asked to pay monthly for devices hat don’t function properly and I’m not going to do that because it just makes no sense. IDC if I had billions of dollars or 50 dollars just like I wouldn’t buy a bag of rotten potatoes either.

How about they announce this in a reputable location, like their official site, rather than a malicious third party platform. I’m not setting up a virtual machine and a VPN just to read an announcement.

It is what it is I wish they’d just use Googles thing like everyone else.

Blizzard: “Every single person who plays the game lives in areas with good cell coverage. It’s preposterous to suggest we shouldn’t require SMS and should just use Google Authenticator instead!”

I’ve been gaming since the 80’s and lived in many places the country and other less populated places still struggle with having good cell coverage.

Get a google voice number?

Use emulators like someone else said in another post works, or according to the posts it does, idk i have a phone

In 2018, approximately 95% of Americans owned a mobile phone of some kind.

This is hardly an issue, it’s laughable at best.

I mean can get a phone add a few mins on it and use wifi calling for service never need minutes again. My friend did this and hasn’t bought any time for his phone to use it, granted he can only use it where there is wifi but still doesn’t coast him a cent.

Ok? I’m just saying the “out in the country” defense doesn’t work. There’s just as many that get good cell service as there are that don’t.
