So, is this reportable?

“Anwers.”

If only you’d have contributed a single thing of substance. Please, don’t fool yourself.

You can report pretty much anything, but being bannable is another case. Essentially, its either an exploit or it isn’t. At this point all we can do is speculate, there is no real way to say definitively it is X or Y without checking it and testing.
The better move may be to make a post on the bug report forums, as the players doing this either did it knowingly/unknowingly and we won’t be able to prove it most likely.

Its not an exploit to stand on a building. Theres lots of buildings to stand on.

Answers you don’t like. May as well report’em and wait for the next time they rock ya.

Well you could just file a report and talk to a game master about it, to get an official answer. My feeling is that they did nothing wrong, and you’re being a big baby about getting ganked on a PvP server. If you can’t take the heat, get out of the kitchen.

It is if you start killing players and the guards cant get you Blizzard has said this plain and simple the two things are not the same even if you want them to be.

If you assume the scenario that the OP stated is true(still up for debate, I’m not saying it is or isn’t true, can’t prove, but humor me here) they are almost exactly the same thing you are just choosing to be either braindead or stubborn, or both. The fact that you actually think that is the one and only possible exploit that can be in the game is actually astounding.
So I’m going to restate this and I need you to answer these line items here:

  1. When you die, you are supposed to be able to run to your body as a spirit and res (yes or no).
  2. If you are running as a spirit, and there is absolutely no way to get back to your body, and you are forced to spirit res, is this working as intended?
  3. If a player figures out how to recreate #2, is it possible this could break TOS and be used as an exploit / grief tactic?

This is not reportable and you should feel bad for even asking. I advice that you reroll on a PvE server.

They killed you outside the instance portal and you had an issue getting back to your corpse? Thats is on you, not them. Unless they glitched the terrain in a way that prevented you from fighting back, you just got beat.

I actually invite anyone that merely states “pvp happened” to please answer these questions.

If creating #2 is simply killing a player in a tunnel without climbing on things or abusing the terrain in someway then no they shouldn’t be punished if you can’t get your corpse in that location Blizzard needs to fix that not punish people for fighting in Dire Maul

There are literally hundreds of places in WoW you can die and not be able to get back to your body, none of them involve any other player at all. I’ve probably died in all of them over the years.

Its expected and working as intended

You can report them, but you will not get what you want out of this.

But… maybe you can do that to the opposite faction and get your “revenge”. (On some other guy, who will post here soon)

Again, “simply killing a player”. I’m talking about exploiting. So you think if its possible to recreate this, and a group of people camped this spot for hours to grief people, forcing multiple people who exit a dungeon to spirit res, that is perfectly fine?
I’m not saying that is or isn’t happening, but the sheer denial that this could possibly be a bug or exploit is insane.

The purpose of the spirit rez is in case you cannot get back to your corpse normally. This applies to PVE as well. If its fair in PVE, its always fair in PVP.

A solution here would be to send a few groups of guildies through the dungeon, come out at the same time and gank the attackers, and get you a rez.

There’s a PVP solution so there’s no reason for a GM to get involved.

So now you think camping players for hours is griefing? I’ve camped people for like 3-4 hours without the use of this tunnel. forcing a player to take a spirit res is not punishable.

Again, see the gadgetzan exploit. The solution to that is to send in some guildies and kill the guy exploiting on top of the building, right?
And the spirit res is if you want to res at a more optimal location at the cost of your durability. It can also be in case you can’t get to your body, but that is not a normal circumstance as most of the time you are supposed to be able to.
The question isn’t whether or not it can be solved by pvp, because even most exploits can still be “solved by pvp”. The question is whether or not what is being done is being intentionally exploited.

To add to this. Forcing a spirit rez is a form of victory condition in World PVP.

The ultimate victory is of course forcing people to leave the server, and claiming it for your faction. PVP isn’t meant to be nice.

Blizzard has said abusing the terrain to avoid the guards is not allowed. You keep trying to equate these two things but they are not even close to the same.
