We simply don’t want bigots that spew hate in our communities. That’s it. And we will continue to moderate them out of our community until they are extinct. They have no place in the gaming world in 2024.
No, I used my the quote accurately. You can perceive the quote to mean whatever you want. I validated my interpretation, you don’t need to agree with it.
This may very well be true. But hey, equality.
Thank you for your recommendation, I’ll toss it into the wastebin with the other virtue signaling where it belongs.
He dug his own hole. Instead of white knighting someone who put themselves in this situation, why don’t you toss him a rope to help him climb out with.
I would never tell anyone how to deal with those that bully them, I also would not judge a victim for their rebuttals to abuse/bullying. Nor would I support violence.
Thank you.
I’m not white knighting. I am calling you out for being a hypocrite. You know, admonishing others for their own bad behavior as you attempted to do.
So removal of player choice and expression, simply because you cant right click a name and press ignore. You demand them just be gone? “This isn’t a radical take” sounds pretty radical to me and lazy on your part.
We are only here because you didn’t take your own advice and do the same.
Nothing is removed from you here. You can express what you want and how you want within the rules of the forum. Looks like you don’t care about those rules you agreed to though.
you aren’t being repressed. Take your victim mentality elsewhere. Your freedom of expression isn’t being infringed, which btw if you are a US citizen that right is only reserved between you and the government, not you and a private or personal entity.
Right because this forum post would exist if they were enforcing it right? Clearly its what blizzard wants. And I guess you speak for the whole community, except for the majority of this thread that disagrees with your take.
You’re using another biblical quote wrong.
Unless you want to claim you are entirely without fault here? “let he who is without sin cast the first stone”.
Appreciate you recognizing your hypocrisy though.
Still wrong. I honestly do not care about that poster, but your hypocrisy was just too choice to scroll past. Especially considering how strongly you came in swinging.
Apparently the concept of maintaining freedoms is beyond you. However your statement is factually wrong. It is a rights violation even if private entities remove you from their space that is open to public for discriminatory reasons.
You aren’t being discriminated against here either, try again.
Breaking rules is a pretty legitimate reason for a business to remove someone from their premise/site.
I really suggest you read both the bible and the US constitution before further incorrectly interpreting both or moving the goal posts further.
No one said they weren’t? The argument was about asking them to change the rules to add more moderation and the dangers of adding more moderation when there are tools in place for the user to self moderate.
Maybe you should go read the entire thread?
Sweet heart that goal post already stretches from Florida to California.
Self moderation doesn’t remove those people from the community though. That’s the ultimate goal here.
Blizzard and players alike do not want to foster a community of hateful bigotry. We don’t want to simply just ignore them – we want them removed from the community all-together.
It sure does, if enough people are offended by them and have them blocked they don’t get to raid or join groups.
Maybe the larger portion of the community just doesn’t care? Despite what you think. Because they don’t let it affect them to the degree that you let it affect you? People are going to be idiots, block and go about your day. Stop letting them live rent free in your head and worry about you. If enough people agreed, then most of the server wouldn’t see their messages.
That doesn’t remove them from the community. They are still able to log on, queue for dungeons, create new characters, etc.
The effective solution here is moderation.
If the larger portion of the community just doesn’t care, then they should leave for a game that tolerates their bigotry. (Hint: no such game exists because there’s no market or monetization methods for fostering such a community. Despite what you think, the larger portion of the community does care)
Exactly the point is the deterrent should be enough people don’t act like a dbag in the first place because dealing with them after the fact has already harmed other people’s experience.
Which is also not something that should really be in the hands of the community at all with how bad blizzard’s automated systems are. But since blizzard refuses to staff enough GM’s it’s all we have.
