So im gonna start this discussion

As a casual, I don’t care about the ilvl of the gear as long as I’m able to do casual things. What I care about more is the visuals of the gear. I’d like casual routes to get the cool visuals not the ilvl.

True. That’s why I spend most of my time getting old transmogs.

I thought this (“mostly peaceful”) discussion, started when Molten Core first opened?

I love threads like this, you get all the people that call themselves casual because they don’t push into mythic+ or raids while spending like 20 or 30 hours a week in game lol.

You know what I did when I played? I did one Mythic+ and then logged out for a week. THATS casual.

Want gear? Do some content.

Oh no, no idea why it came off as insincere. I often see people complaining about how difficult mythic antorus is even, my brain just immediately went to G’huun.

Having better gear would help alleviate the difficulty of old raids, like uldir and antorus, which I don’t think should be as hard as they are currently.

Can you at least get your facts right? World scales with your character level, not your item level.

You can easily solo old raid bosses in 200 ilvl gear (as long as its considered Legacy content, ie anything before BFA atm.) with the small exception of a few bosses in Mythic ToS/Antorus b/c of mechanics (which can’t be solo’d at all, regardless of ilvl).

The only argument that holds any merit for casuals and gearing imo, is the atrocious pvp gearing system atm.
They really should have went completely with the WoD gearing system, and just had 1 honor set/1 conq set (with no upgrading).
This effects everyone, casuals and pvpers.
Nothing sucks more than getting into a bg, and half your team is 20-37k hp, while the other team is almost all 60k hp (or vice versa. I don’t get any enjoyment of facing a team of 30k hp players when my team is 50k+).

But honestly, current solo gearing atm is 100x better than it has been in any xpac.

Vanilla - Didn’t exist
TBC/WotLK/Cata/MoP/WoD/Legion - Didn’t exist (outside of the 1 honor/1 conq set for pvp, or lul “LFR” for Cata onwards)

G’huun has that effect on people.

Again, my apologies for misinterpreting and edited the post

Also it’s weird that these gatekeepers think “The gear doesn’t even matter anyways, that’s why only those of us who put in the ‘work’ to do it should get it, otherwise we wont feel so special and people wont want to group with us” is some deep and intelligent point against having alternate paths for progression.

This. Once legacy buff sets in (apparently 3 expansions old is the breakpoint for that), then it can be easily solo’d by questing greens.

You could give people a full set of 252 gear and they wouldn’t be able to complete it. Solo’ing older raids is discussed with the legacy buff in mind.

Weird that you think people are capable of gate-keeping.

Ignoring the already numerous alternate paths for progressions is some deep and strongly willful ignorance.

Except I did…

Try reading the whole post next time.

I’m “casual”, although I feel like that’s a poor description of a lot of us players who do not participate in Mythic+ or Raiding. I play everyday for an avg of 3 hours, usually more. I enjoy achievements, collections and pet battles. I previously raided heroic with my guild for about 8 years and have done some mythic+. I had great fun but life changes and I’ve lost interest in that aspect of the game.

I still enjoy many aspects of the game and spend a lot of time in Azeroth. I don’t feel like a “casual” player, I just prefer not to commit to activities where my actions directly affect another player’s ability to enjoy themselves and reach their own in-game goals. Ilvl is no longer my priority, but it does still affect my ability to do the things that DO interest me.

If I’m spending just as many hours or more, in-game, as a raider/mythic+ player working toward my in-game goals than why should I be forced to need help with rares that drop pets/mounts/toys etc that I’m after? Why is my in-game time less valuable than a high end player?

I don’t need mythic ilvl’s, I do respect the effort these players put in for the ilvl and they do deserve a little something extra, no argument from me!

I’d like a high enough ilvl to solo the world elites and legacy raids that drop items I want though. I feel like I DO put the hours into the game, same as any high end raider, why should all my activities be nearly as hard as they were when I started after 100-200 hours of playtime? I don’t feel like I’m being whiny or “because I want it”, I feel like I pay my sub just like everyone else and my time deserves some power rewards as well.

Korthia gives up to 233 gear (with upgrades).
Is that not enough?
Why do casuals who don’t do “hard” or “group” content, feel like they “NEED” group content ilvl gear to farm legacy raids/rares?

I’ve had no problem farming old raids/korthia rares (outside of the Rare Elites, like Konthrogz/Towering Exterminator) on my 200-233 ilvl alts.

You can get 233 gear from Korthia (while Heroic raid loot is 246, Mythic 252).
You are literally asking for handouts.

Your sub gives you access to the servers to play on.

The rest is left up to you to decide what you get out of the game. Everyone has equal access to all the content and gear in the game. Difficulty or time management is another issue.

But the point is, me and a world first raider both start off in the same starting zone with the same accessibility to all the content in the game. What we’re capable of and what rewards we reap are derived by us and us alone.

I ain’t reading this whole thread, so I don’t know if someone mentioned this already, but if you want Legion mythic raid transmogs, you had best be in some serious gear, because the legacy damage is such hogballs that you could die to mechanics if you’re not decked out in purps.

Good luck farming Tomb of Sargeras or Antorus on mythic with a sub 220 item level.

Its been said.

Having social issues doesnt mean you have mental issues at all. It maans you dont like to interact with other people.
Btw, giving out mental diseases diagnosis whitout any medical expertise is not only imoral it’s also a felony.
Remember that next time you try to randomly insult people as ignorant lmao.

The PVP gear system is actually really good right now. We’ve got vendors back which is something nearly everyone asked for.

PVP is in a much better place.

My best time in PVP was in MoP where I had 6-7 geared alts all pushing RBG’s above 1900.

I would just log in and do RBG’s all day.

It’s hard to have that same level of engagement in today’s expansion with all the pre-requisites and systems.
