Since 2004. This is my third account. I gave the prior two away to two of my kids upon extended breaks. One when I hurt my back, the other when I had a stroke.
Started in Vanilla after I went over to a friends house to watch the World Cup and he was raiding Molten Core. He was on Ragnaros and just the scale of being so small and fighting something so big turned me on. The rest is history.
Holy cow! Me too!
-my retired warlock: release day November 2004 to March 2006
-this mage: March 2006 to January 2011 (on and off so about 50%), July 2020 to present
-total about 5 years
BC was my first and WotLK was my favorite because of Arthas and WC3 campaign storyline.
Married to mage and like playing all three specs to DPS.
I was asked this in an interview applying for guilds. Gluth from Naxx because I got to showcase my kiting ability.
I don’t play for leaderboards, gear, etc. I would like to think of playing my class like the mages who study in lore as someone that would constantly strive to improve day in and day out. Also being able to use that individual knowledge and experience to contribute to a team’s success. On top of it all, dedicating my time to try to attain the unachievable goal of demonstrating class mastery.
I played in Classic, but I was only 10 years old so it was very limited play. I wasn’t allowed to really socialize (you know, the “dangers” of the internet back then). I didn’t really start playing the game as intended until Wrath.
I’m glad to know future me is still saxy af.
-
Started playing when Vanilla launched and I was 14.
-
Vanilla is probably where I have my fondest memories, but my favorite expansion was probably Wrath just because of the guilds that I was in at the time.
-
Favorite class has shifted over time. Vanilla Shaman was probably the most fun to me since they still had all their cool utility totems/tricks.
-
Favorite encounter is probably Heigen because it was so hilarious to see 9/10ths of my guild wipe on the dance every week.
-
I really only come back every once in a while to see if any drastic changes have been made. I’ll probably peace out again once my 1 month sub is up.
How long have you been playing WoW for?
I started playing in mid-2006, Vanilla. Switched over from the RTS game of WC3/TFT. Hesitated at first but eventually did it, hence why it wasn’t until 2006.
Which was your first expansion, and which expansion is your favourite?
Counting Vanilla as the base game, that leaves TBC as my first expansion. On one hand, it’s also my favorite one. I really enjoyed the feeling of Outland and the contrast it held to Azeroth.
WotLK is also up there, it’s almost a tie to TBC I would say. Almost…
Favourite class and role?
Hunter, without a doubt! I did enjoy tanking in the earlier days as well but since WotLK, I’ve only kept with my Hunter so…DPS
I will say this, I don’t enjoy my hunter as much anymore. Going into Legion, they removed what I thought to be the most fun spec this game had to offer, that being Survival before it was turned into a melee-spec.

Favourite raid boss?
Having a hard time choosing a single encounter but…from the earlier days, Ulduar as a whole + the Lich King-encounter in ICC.
In more recent days, again not one in particular but Blackrock Foundry in WoD really held some of the best ones to ever be created.
What keeps you here?
Pretty much story development. Seeing where we end up and how things unfold.
+The hope of seeing the return of pre-Legion Survival(that modern version). Yes I know, but still…
since 5.2, so eight years or so.
Mists was my first xpac.
fav class and role is and always will be gladiator warrior. miss the 5 months of it we got
Sha in SoO is my fav all time raid boss. first mythic I downed
I am still here, because I am a WoW addict, unashamedly so
Five years.
Legion; MoP/Legion.
DH, Vengeance.

Fun > tired of game (if with an ever-shrinking margin).
Started two weeks after launch.
Best expansion was probably wrath for me.
There’s a few I liked, probably arthas or deathwing.
What keeps me here? My sub is still active another 6 or 8 weeks. I don’t have WoW installed anymore, and while I will miss the old days, I won’t miss the game in its current state.
