What keeps you here?
I’ve been playing for 14 years. My first expansion was TBC, and TBC was also my favourite.
My favourite class is Monk! Mistweavers all the way.
My favourite raid boss is Illidan, which is purely nostalgia based.
What keeps me here? I think it’s all the time I’ve spent playing. From everything I’ve ever farmed, every pet or mount in my journal, every TCG pack I bought, every bit of merch, and so on. I’ve spent a huge amount of time playing this game in my spare time, and it’s hard to walk away from that.
13 years, I started in wrath. Death knights allures me back in after not sticking around in classic. I leveled a Paladin and pretended she got turned into a dk. She started out as Buttrfly and changed into Shaddowfly once I reached the level I could make a dk.
My favorite expansion is MoP. I had the most fun with the classes during MoP and I sort of dabbled around in more things in MoP than most expansions. There was a lot to do and everything felt equally exciting to complete. Remember the lag from Oondasta? Haha
My favorite class is Rogue but my favorite role is Healing. Paladin healing feels amazing to play right now because it keeps ya on your toes. Sometimes have to get creative to keep people alive.
My favorite raid boss was actually Durumu from Throne of Thunder. Watching people fail the maze was really funny. My old raid leader was color blind too which was also fun.
What keeps me here is that I still like to play the game, I still finding things that I enjoy doing. There are still moments when that epic rogue kills the mythic boss by himself at the end somehow! I would miss it. The zones and the music and the characters. Just been a part of my relax time for so long.
BC was my first expansion. I started when Naxx was current and barely got past 40 before BC launched. Made a blood elf paladin who was my main until recently.
Wrath was my favorite. Mostly because of ICC and Ulduar.
Was paladin, and tank, but now I enjoy boomkin/resto druid

Arthas because he’s the iconic WCIII villain, Mimiron because that fight was chaotic.
Despite being on a mini-break right now, I enjoy the game. It’s mostly the social aspect of being in a guild that keeps me going.

I started in Classic, so my first expansion would be BC. My favorite was Mists.
Favourite class and role?
Tough one. It changes from expansion to expansion. I’ve liked paladin since BC when we got them. I’ve always loved warlock. In BfA I got into monk again. Currently I’m mostly playing demon hunter. I think my favorite role is ranged DPS, even though I’m not really playing one currently.
Who am I kidding, my favorite role anymore is casual single-player world content.
Favourite raid boss?
I don’t know that I have a favorite boss. I remember enjoying XT-002 Deconstructor a lot, mainly for the voice acting. Heigan the Unclean was actually fun when the group knew how to safety dance. I dunno. There’s no boss that jumps to mind as favorite.
What keeps you here?
I dunno. I guess it’s a combination of WoW being fun for the most part, habit, cheap entertainment, playing dress-up with my virtual dolls, and my ADD+ brain liking repeating the same thing over an over.
15 years, I started at the end of Vanilla and hardcore played in Burning Crusade. My favorite expansion, however, is Mists of Pandaria. I haven’t had that much fun in an expansion before or after MoP; it was also when my best friend started playing, so that helps. We really spent a lot of time in this game back then, and it hurts to know they’ve long since left this game due to the current expansion.
Druid and Healer. Been one for 15 years and it just feels comfortable. There isn’t another game out there that has the class fantasy I love about my Druid, which is what tends to keep me here. This guy is very important to me.
Favorite raid boss has to be Blackhand. After dealing with a boss like Imperator where you could wipe after 10 minutes and still be only halfway to finishing him, Blackhand was short and sweet. Either he clobbers you to dust or you clobber him, there is no meandering about in that fight. And something about that is just really fun. I also like the visual of going up the elevator to fight him only for him to just shatter the floors and forcing us to fall. Black rock Foundry over all was just such a good raid.
Hmmm…what keeps me here may be in part due to sink cost. I’ve played for 15 years, it feels almost wrong to leave. And realistically when I ignore most of what Blizzard gave us for Shadowlands (i.e. legendaries, conduits, soul binds, Torghast, followers, etc) I actually have fun with the Covenants and just doing daily chores. I don’t play as often as I used to for sure, but…it’s still WoW. I’m definitely losing my hold on the game more and more lately, though; with my best friend leaving and being forced to hear how utterly amazing and perfect FF14 is all the time, and with the fact the WoW devs just feel so…out of touch, I don’t know how long I’ll stay right now.
I used to say I’d go down with the ship, but lately the dangling ladder evacuating people before it starts sinking is looking more enticing.
I started playing in vanilla, during the Naxxramas patch. I didn’t get a max level character until Wrath, though. I didn’t really care for WoW in vanilla and BC… it was more of a side game to my main MMO, the Matrix Online. Something to play during content droughts.
I really loved Wrath, and it’s still my favorite expansion. I went back to not really enjoying the game in Cataclysm, and left after my 30 days of game time from buying the MoP expansion. Didn’t come back until BFA, and I’ve loved the game again since. This expansion (Shadowlands) is probably my second favorite expansion that I’ve played.
I have never been able to be a tank or healer, they stress me out and are not fun roles. So I definitely prefer DPS; my favorite class is warrior… fury, specifically.
I don’t really have a favorite raid boss… I will say the ICC airship battle is one of my favorite raid encounters, though. Not sure if you can call that a ‘boss’ persay lol.
What keeps me here? Simple. I have fun. When I stop having fun, I will leave again.
I’ve been playing WoW since the middle of TBC. I saw reviews for it on G4 and had a friend who played it so I decided to check it out.
TBC was my first expansion. I’d say Wrath, MoP, and Legion are tied pretty evenly as my favorites.
Favorite class is druid or monk, but I actually like just about all of the classes WoW has to offer. My favorite role is healer for group content, tank as solo content. I like “hybrid” classes and keeping my options open.
My favorite raid boss is Onyxia, but I only went up against her in Wrath I think. I have the mount and have a lot of good memories doing Ony runs with my guild.
What keeps me here is the sunk cost fallacy, mostly. I still have things I want to accomplish in Azeroth but my drive isn’t the same as it used to be and I don’t endeavor to try as much different content as I used to. People complain about the writing, and sometimes I agree with them, but for the most part I still enjoy the overall story and am interested in what happens to some of my favorite lore figures in WoW.
I started playing in 2006, just a few months before TBC was released. I have given all classes a try. But once I tried hunter, it became my favorite and I really connected with the playstyle. I have an Orc hunter that was my main for many years. I raided with him back in WotLK which was my favorite expansion, with Naxx and ICC also being my favorite raids. I have a couple of alts which are mages. I am learning and really liking the class, but hunter still remains my favorite.
I haven’t played the entire time since I first started. I have taken a few short breaks of a couple of months here and there. My last break however was in early 2016, and it turned into nearly 5 years. I came back to the game this past Christmas.
I’m not sure, I started in BC which is an xpac but it wasn’t to me, so I guess Wrath

I looked into the game No Man’s Sky, but I can’t find a clear answer as to whether or not my exploration data will be saved forever so
A universe with more planets than I’ll be able to explore in my lifetime sounds cool But my exploration log has to be just as endless otherwise pfft, why invest the time if my log isn’t going to keep track of my efforts over the literal decades I’d spend in the game? You know what game does keep track of all my data?
i started toward the end of MoP, SoO was the big raid, and like… a year and a half later WoD was announced.
my favorite expansion was WoD, though looking back… i think i liked legion best (as odd as it sounds coming from me, considering i hated it at the time) since, that’s when i met all my WoW buddies (most of whom i never see anymore… ).
my favorite classes are/were legion mw-monk, MoP bm-hunter, WoD enhancement-shaman and legion ret-pally (picking just one… i can’t i like’em all for different reasons)
my favorite raid boss… hmm… hard to say, i started raiding in legion but i think it was aggramar? can’t remember who was my favorite, all i remember were big firey death-lasers and death-circles.
and what keeps me here? my characters, the memories i have of my friends, and the hope/prayer/dream/whatever that blizzard will eventually get their groove back, and make the game so good all my old buddies return, ‘n’ we go back to the way things were. but… the way things are lookin, don’t think it’s gonna happen…

My favorite xpac, wow that’s actually a hard one. I did love TBC when it came out, but I also loved MoP and Wotlk, tbh it would have to be TBC or MoP.
My favorite class/role, hmm, I love healing, but my lock is probably my all time favorite. As far as the lock, she’s been afflic and destro. I enjoy destro more rn. My healers are priest and pally, I love them both tbh.
Favorite raid boss, I know it’s silly but Ragnaros. Probably because of the memories. Close second is Elegon because I always thought he was the coolest looking boss ever and during the encounter you turn into a star person
What keeps me here is I still have friends that play, and I like to see the new encounters, mobs, zones etc. I love going back and doing old content I didn’t have time to finish. I also love working on achievements and collecting mounts/mogs/pets. There’s so much you can do, I keep myself entertained pretty easily and have fun!

I like how retail WoW plays, especially raids.
Been playing since 2006 and took a break during WoD then came back about a month before the launch of the next one to get into the swing of things.
I have enjoyed every expansion, my favorite was MoP until Legion beat it out by a half point.
Favorite raids were during WoD if I remember right. Never had a favorite boss fight I thought they were all kind cool.
What has kept me playing all these years? I enjoy everything about the game, so I keep myself entertained. Everything from all the rolls, most classes, to pvp, pve collection some things everything, it’s just fun.
I will be starting a break shortly but will be back to see what is next!
