So hows the ring now?

I put all the stat gems in also and I seem to be doing a bit more damage.

I didn’t sim but I tend to do the same damage anywhere I am. Lol!

Seems to be good. Only compared on my tank char, have yet to try and compare on Hunter.

It is most certainly not worse than a 626.

If you run Skipper plus the other two stat gems that go in the other sockets it is far and away the best ring in the game, and it isn’t even remotely close, and it’s going to get much better every week for the next 5 weeks.

People much smarter than you have done the math already. It is not only better than BiS 626s, it is better than BiS 639s by a large margin.

Thanks for the insults because ring, standard valuable community boss.

People literally did the math already. As in, we knew from before this patch even launched that this ring with the three best gems completely outclasses every other ring in the game because people who are much, much more knowledgeable about game mechanics than you already mathematically proved that it is indeed that good.

In fact, the people who write the sim APLs are so knowledgeable about their classes that many of them have already been able to calculate how strong the Season 2 set bonuses are based exclusively on what’s been datamined regarding 11.1. That’s how good they are at doing the math.

You have literally nothing to support your argument that hasn’t been disproven ten times over by literally everyone who writes the APLs for their classes and specs.

I am not focusing mastery. Haste/Crit mostly here.

Comparing my stats with a Haste/Mastery 636 ring and the Signet:

Stats with the H/M ring
13410 c 24%
21326 h 32%
4638m 113%
2059v 4.6%

Swapped the H/M for Signet
13710 c 25%
21249 h 32%
3912 m 105%
2644 v 5.39%

So I gained + 300 crit
Lost -77 haste
lost -726 mastery
gained +585 vers

Swapping out the 636 Haste/Mastery ring for the Circlet saw almost no change in haste amt with the difference being -77 haste ( which is my best stat ).

Circlet at 642 sims SLIGHTLY behind a CRIT/HASTE 636 ring ( my best stats ) but again, once it is upgraded once or twice more it will be better than BIS stat crafted rings for me.

Of course your milage may vary depending on class, talents, stat budgets, and role/spec, but it’s deff an upgrade for me and doesn’t lower my haste in any meaningful way.

I would suggest you check out your class discords because the warrior guides on wowhead have this to say about it:

Starting at item level 639, the Circlet is competitive and a 1%+ upgrade over standard rings with the right set of gems; upgraded to item level 658 over the course of several weeks, it is far and away the best in slot ring for Fury Warriors.

Starting at item level 639, the Circlet is roughly on par with standard rings when using a competitive set of gems, though pulls further ahead as it is upgraded over the course of several weeks; by the time it reaches item level 658 it is far and away the best in slot ring for Arms Warriors

For Protection Warrior the Circlet is a substantial single-target DPS gain.

Just because some people who stack mastery are repeating themselves over and over and have 626 gear, and dying on a hill for new underwhelming content with wall of texts, doesnt’ make them right.

Not sure why you’re even so invested in convincing me. I mostly tank and heal btw, and mastery is not on the table, but meta gems are.

Hunters with pet taunts on are annoying, but Blizzard screwed up the encounter, only Blizzard can fix it.

Getting every idiot inside and killing the boss in the center or back of the cave while killing it in the center of the WQ marked area won’t fix it.

It makes me laugh to see half of the people arguing “I tried the ring and it increased my dps,” or “I put this on and it felt so much worse than my old ring.”

You’re free to do whatever you want, use it or not, but neither side should be trying to convince the other as they aren’t looking to be convinced… if they were they would just run a sim and go with that result.

It’s a math problem. You’re never going to convince people willing to argue that they’re blue in the face that 1.1m is actually a smaller number than 1.07m.

Yep, actual true story if you haven’t heard about it A and W tried to launch a third pound burger to compete with the quarter pounder from McDonalds. But people thought the quarter pounder is bigger because 4 is bigger than 3 lol

Yes still time gated, over an hour an hour of doing events and 3 havent dropped.

Awful. Gollum himself would not be happy with “the ring”. Not so precious.

Check the Tortollan vendor. Not all of them are on the events, some of them are just straight up on a vendor to buy like the Legendary Skipper one.

Thanks when I log in I’ll check first

Ring is BIS for all specs at 658 and most specs at 642 in group PvE content. The main value of the ring, while it has some flat secondaries, is the tideskipper gem because it can proc the “Buff 4 other people gem” without the buff gem needing to be equipped. This means in a dungeon or raid group where everyone is using it it’s giving out immense amounts of stats relatively consistently and you’re getting that value from other people by wearing it with them. You can’t test this thing on a training dummy, you can’t look at your stats go down and say it’s not an upgrade.

You can absolutely dislike that you lose XYZ stat by equipping it, and in solo content you might find without the value from tideskipper it isn’t pulling it’s weight. But mathematically it is the best thing you can be wearing in group content because everyone else is wearing it too.

I put on the highest secondary stat gem (Crit), Mastery gem and the single target DPS proc gem.

I’d say it’s an overall upgrade: Lost a bit of Crit but gained Mastery and the lightning bolt crits for around 700K and procs all the time with no cooldown. Figure it’s only going to improve as it gains Ilvl so, yeah, think it’s worth using now.

My experience anyway as a MM Hunter, your milage may vary.

No they aren’t, you can buy them from the Tuskarr vendor (edit: or is he a Tortollan? I forget)

@OP: BiS gems seem to range from “a solid upgrade” to “unlimited cosmic power” depending on your class

Except your logic doesn’t work out as the ring is still an upgrade even if you don’t really like mastery. Like this character for example.

I take it you’ve actually simmed it and you’re one of the few exceptions where it’s a loss compared to a 626?

Good, but incredibly boring! XD
